Steadfast Nutrition campaigns for an ‘Anaemia-Free She’ on Women’s Day

Mumbai: Well-known sports and wellness nutrition brand Steadfast Nutrition has launched a 360-degree campaign ‘Anaemia-Free She’ ahead of Women’s Day to raise awareness about the grave issue of iron-deficiency anaemia among Indian women. The campaign highlights the symptoms of anaemia- since they are quite insidious and therefore often remain overlooked and under-diagnosed until the disease becomes more severe, encourages women to visit a doctor once they experience symptoms, and urges them to fight anaemia through iron-rich foods and supplements. 57 per cent of women in the age group of 15-49 are anaemic, according to the National Family Health Survey 2019-21.

Steadfast Nutrition reached out to people through a narrative featuring a resilient woman’s struggle and victory over iron deficiency anaemia. The video strikes a chord with the audience through the emotive journey of the protagonist, a young woman with dreams who is passionate about her career and juggles work and relationships until an unexpected adversary threatens to cloud her ambitions – iron-deficiency anaemia. It highlights how she is pulled down in her career and personal life by the symptoms she is initially dismissive of until they become more severe leading to an inability to cope with day-to-day tasks. The video shows her transformation and empowerment after she visits a doctor, who diagnoses her with anaemia and advises her to take iron-rich foods and supplements. After a few months, she is able to once again become successful at her work and enjoy the pleasures of life with renewed vigour.

Steadfast Nutrition also conducted a drive in four NGOs across Delhi-NCR (Niveda Foundation, Sashakt Foundation, Sakshi-HUL Nutrition & Education Centre, and Setu Foundation) with a nutritionist educating around 400 adolescent and adult women about the causes, symptoms, and ways to treat iron deficiency anaemia and also about ways to prevent HPV, a leading cause of cancer among women in India. Four influencer athletes associated with the brand provided women with a holistic health plan and empowered them with confidence-building measures and ways to navigate their way in a patriarchal society. The company also distributed free iron supplements among the women in the NGOs.

Commenting on the campaign, Steadfast Nutrition founder Aman Puri said, “Anaemia is a silent and underdiagnosed problem that holds back the good health for women and girls in India and around the world. Many who are anaemic or have insufficient iron levels are unaware of their problem. Through the video and NGO drives, we wanted to raise awareness among women who grapple with this health condition and don’t realise that what they’re feeling – unexplained weakness, shortness of breath, heart palpitations, excessive hair loss, and pale skin – are signs of iron deficiency because the symptoms can be subtle or can be dismissed as being due to other problems. Our campaign also offers solutions to tackle anaemia through iron-rich foods, vitamin C that boosts iron absorption, and iron supplements. It will also contribute towards the national health goal of an ‘Anaemia Mukt Bharat’.”

Steadfast Nutrition also conducted a pan-India quiz through its social media handles to put the spotlight on anaemia by engaging audiences and highlighting preventive measures, nutrients, and supplements needed to overcome the health issue.

This is the third year in a row that the brand is conducting a campaign on Women’s Day raising awareness about iron deficiency anaemia and the nutritional support needed to treat it.

The campaign’s underlying theme of iron women every year emphasises the resilience and inner strength of women and the need to empower them with good health.

Steadfast Nutrition rolls out Republic Day campaign ‘Thakna Nahi, Rukna Nahi’

Mumbai: Steadfast Nutrition has launched a pan-India campaign, ‘Thakna Nahi, Rukna Nahi’ #EnergiseIndia ahead of Republic Day. As per the company, the campaign aims to motivate Indians to tackle the problem of fatigue prevalent in urban India through energy-giving foods and supplements. Additionally, the campaign celebrates the resilience of Indians and their progress despite fatigue and other challenges.

Talking about the campaign, Aman Puri, founder Steadfast Nutrition, said, “As per a 2022 study published in ResearchGate, more than a quarter of Urban Indians suffer from fatigue, which is corroborated by the published literature. Fatigue, prevalent in India due to prevailing stressful lifestyles, leads to tiredness, lethargy, and the inability to concentrate, hampering the quality of life and productivity and posing a socio-economic burden on society. Even otherwise, most people experience a dip in energy levels as they progress through the day. The campaign theme Thakna Nahi, Rukna Nahi’ #EnergiseIndia aligns with India’s values of perseverance, progress, and the spirit of Indians, making it a fitting choice to inspire people on Republic Day.”

Among the highlights of the campaign is a video that showcases the improvement in performance and energy levels of nation builders, including a doctor, army officers, construction workers, an athlete, a student, and a young child after consuming vital energy-boosting macro and micronutrients. The video also showcases the contributions of these individuals who work with resilience for the development of the country.

Besides, around 40 athletes associated with Steadfast Nutrition amplified the brand’s voice, campaigning to educate people about the importance of consuming energy-boosting foods, including Indian national football team member Dalima Chibber, IPL fielding coach Biju George, renowned TV actor and fitness enthusiast Shweta Gulati and former Mr Universe and bodybuilding icon Rohit Shetty.

Steadfast Nutrition launches its campaign ‘Make India Protein Efficient’

Mumbai: Renowned sports and wellness nutrition brand Steadfast Nutrition announced the launch of its campaign ‘Make India Protein Efficient,’ to discuss solutions to address India’s challenge of protein deficiency and creating awareness among people about the importance of consuming this vital nutrient. Through its pan-India campaign, which included reaching people through a powerful emotive video highlighting the adverse effects of protein deficiency on health and the positive changes of adding the vital macronutrient to their diet, 40 Steadfast athletes amplifying the brand’s voice and campaigning to educate people, a pan-India pledge campaign asking people to pledge to “Grow Strong with Protein”, and a nutritionist educating people about its importance, the brand aimed to discuss India’s problem of protein deficiency. The Indian Market Research Bureau has stated that 80% of Indians are deficient in this crucial macronutrient and 90% are unaware that their diet lacks protein.

Asked about the campaign, Steadfast Nutrition founder Aman Puri said, “India’s protein deficiency needs to be addressed urgently. Any solution begins with creating awareness, which is what our campaign aimed at. Protein is neglected in most Indian households. The nutrient is just associated with muscle building. Very few people know about its role in maintaining good health and how much protein they should be taking. The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) advises an average adult should consume around one gram of protein per kg of body weight every day. However, the reality is starkly different. Protein deficiency can lead to muscle weakness, impaired immunity, fatigue, and ultimately an acceptance of weakness. Steadfast Nutrition envisions making India protein efficient by 2040. This campaign was a step in this direction. Through this initiative, we wanted to help people who do not have awareness about the importance of protein and educate and have a dialogue with them about protein-rich foods and the need to increase their intake of this essential macronutrient.”

The campaign video which features an elderly individual, an athlete, a corporate woman, a homemaker and two children, highlights the improvement in their strength & energy levels on taking a protein-rich diet or protein supplements

The athletes associated with the brand were able to reach and educate 16,000 people about India’s problem of protein deficiency and educate people through their awareness campaign and a call to action. 5000 Indians pledged to have a protein-rich diet through an online drive.

During her session and Q&A with the audience, the brand’s nutritionist broke myths about protein- that it is meant only for bodybuilders or leads to weight gain, or that only dal, roti, and rice are sufficient to meet daily protein needs. She explained to people the role of protein in maintaining good health, why adequate protein is vital for muscle strength, how much protein they should consume every day, the adverse effects of protein deficiency, and ways to increase protein intake. 500 people participated in the online live session.

The pan-India social media campaign undertaken by the brand addressed the lack of awareness about the importance of protein, educated people that protein deficiency existed in 90 per cent of Indian vegetarians and 85 per cent of non-vegetarians, and highlighted the consequences of protein deficiency.
