    MUMBAI: Jio Studios and Vishesh Films have roped in south actress Amala Paul, Tahir Raj Bhasin and Amrita Puri for their first collaboration in the digital space. The web series is being directed by Pushpdeep Bhardwaj.

    The show revolves around the relationship between a struggling filmmaker and a top female actor of the 70s. While Tahir will play the upcoming filmmaker, south sensation Amala Paul will essay the role of the superstar. The show also marks Amala’s Hindi debut.

    Talking about the show, Mahesh Bhatt says, “I trust the magic of a new beginning in the digital world. Our first web show goes on floors with Amala, Tahir and Amrita, and our talented director Pushpdeep Bhardwaj.”

    The filmmaker also tweeted a photograph of himself along with the actors. He wrote: “The magic of a new beginning! Our first web show, a dramatic love story goes on floors.     Eros International to release ‘2 Penkuttikal’

    MUMBAI: Eros International Media Ltd (Eros International), the leading global company in the Indian film entertainment industry, has announced the release of its upcoming Malayalam film 2 Penkuttikal, coproduced by Cinema Cooks and Eiffel Entertainments. Featuring Tovino Thomas, Amala Paul, Anju Kurian and Anna Fathima, the film will release on 22 January, 2016.

     

    Directed by Jeo Baby, 2 Penkuttikal is a drama about the story of two girls, their struggles and their lives. Anna Fathima has received the Kerala State Award for the Best Child Artist for this film. The film has been edited by Rahman Muhammed Ali and has music by Mathews Pulickan.

     

     After two consecutive Malayalam successes Jeethu Joseph’s Life of Josutty and Salim Ahamed’s Pathemari with the super star Mammootty, Eros continues to invest in high quality film content in regional markets. Commenting on the new venture, Eros International Media Ltd.     UTV to distribute Vettai, director mulls Hindi remake

    MUMBAI: Knowing that Hindi film remakes accrue good money, director Lingusamy is planning to remake his Tamil film Vettai.


    Reportedly, he is eager to strike gold in Bollywood and feels that Vettai would be his ticket. Accordingly talks are on with Salman Khan to essay the role that Arya plays in Vettai.


    The film revolves around two brothers settled in Thoothukudi, with the elder one working as a police officer.


    While Madhavan plays Thiurmurthy the police officer, Arya plays his younger brother. Sameera Reddy plays Madhavan‘s wife and Amala Paul as her sister with whom Arya falls in love with.


    Vettai is being produced, distributed, marketed and syndicated worldwide by UTV.


    Vettai is slated for release this Pongal.
