    Disney Star to add Indian sign language and audio descriptive feeds for ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024

    Mumbai: On the occasion of Global Accessibility Awareness Day, Disney Star in association with India Signing Hands (ISH), announces the availability of an Indian Sign Language (ISL) feed for the upcoming ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, starting 2 June. This will be applicable for 10 matches including the India matches, semi-finals and finals. The company will also support an audio descriptive feed, along with the ISL feed on Disney+ Hotstar and Star Sports Network. This is the first time that the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup will be broadcast with sign language and descriptive commentary making cricket more immersive for its deaf, hard-of-hearing and visually impaired users. With this, Disney+ Hotstar also becomes the first OTT platform to make ISL available for LIVE cricket.

    Commenting on Disney Star’s initiative, government of India minister of Information & Broadcasting and Youth Affairs & Sports Anurag Singh Thakur said, “I commend Star Sports and Disney+ Hotstar for introducing Indian Sign Language and Audio Descriptive commentary during the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024. The Government of India is committed to creating an inclusive society and I strongly believe that this initiative will enhance the viewing experience for millions of differently abled sports enthusiasts.”

    The ISL feed will provide a comprehensive ball-by-ball update through the presence of a translator on the live stream. The audio descriptive feed will be complemented by voice-over technology for specific pages, which can render text and images into a speech output, enabling our visually impaired users to easily navigate through the Disney+ Hotstar app.

    According to the World Health Organization, with an estimated 63 million community of deaf and 40 million community of visually impaired individuals in India, the need for inclusive entertainment is undeniable. After successfully introducing these features for the 2024 season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) on Star Sports Network, Disney Star will make it available for all the India matches along with the semi-finals and finals of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup on both Disney+ Hotstar and Star Sports Network, giving its users the freedom to watch on either of the platforms, at the comfort of their homes or on-the-go.

    Starting 2 June, tune in to Disney+ Hotstar to watch the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 LIVE and free on mobile. The tournament will also be broadcast LIVE on Star Sports Network.

These games have collective installs of over 1.5 billion. 

    Prior to Zynga, Angelo worked at Games2win as Lead Game Designer. He is also a mentor for Google’s Indie Games Accelerator, one of the few Gaming Professionals from India to enjoy this privilege.

  • MTV to air new reality show ‘Dropout Pvt Ltd’

    MUMBAI: MTV launched a new reality show MTV Dropout Pvt. Ltd, presented by Droom.in, powered by Micromax and Maruti Suzuki and grooming partner Gillette which will see the birth of the world’s first ever start-up formed on television.

    Created by Monozygotic and co-developed by MTV and Monozygotic, the show will premiere on 29 July at 7pm and next day onwards on Voot.

    Dropout Pvt. Ltd. is a show that will take viewers through the process of identifying and transforming ‘dropouts’ into the ideal start-up team and kick-starting their entrepreneurial journey.

    Expert businessmen who have excelled in their respective fields, Droom.in CEO and founder Sandeep Aggarwal, Mydala.com CEO and co-founder Anisha Singh, Games2Win CEO and co-founder Alok Kejriwal along with the show’s hosts and creators Raghu Ram and Rajiv Laxman will be a part of panels identifying and transforming ‘dropouts’ into the dream start-up team to kick-start their entrepreneurial journey.

    MUMBAI:  50,000 contestants are vying for top honours in Season 4 of India’s biggest SME stage, Lufthansa Runway to Success. The 10-episode television series, produced in partnership with The Indus Entrepreneurs (TiE) and India’s premier business broadcast channel ET Now, begins 4 June 2016.

    The movie is produced by YRF along with Dibakar Banerjee Productions and stars Sushant Singh Rajput.

     

    The engaging game, currently available on the Google Play Store, is India’s first movie-based hidden objects game. Hidden Objects, as a category, is very popular worldwide amongst users of all age groups. Games2win has merged a popular game engine and a movie character to create the iconic Detective Byomkesh Bakshy.

    Cyrus Oshidar quits MTV, Ashish Patil made MTV GM

    MUMBAI: MTV Networks’ senior vice president (content and creative) Cyrus Oshidar has put in his papers.

    After ten years, Oshidar who formed one of the Old Guard at the iconic music channel brand, is teaming up with 37-year-old Alok Kejriwal, founder of Contest2Win, a site that aggregates contests and trivia for corporations. Kejriwal also owns sites like Media2Win and the just launched Games2Win.

    Following Oshidar’s departure, MTV Networks India vice president and GM creative and content Ashish Patil has been elevated and given additional charge as GM and business head of the music channel. Patil was earlier reporting directly in to Oshidar.

    Says Oshidar of his decision to move on, “I’ve done the advertising bit and the channel bit. I see the cutting edge challenge now being in the online space. Additionally, me and Alok go back a long way so there is a comfort level there as well.”

    Amit Jain, managing director – MTV Networks India, said, “Oshi’s uniquely wired mind has played a significant role in establishing MTV as an ‘unpredictably cool’ brand over the last so many years. It was surely his ingenuity that started the trend of a new genre of creativity – that of ‘not taking oneself seriously’.” Jain added, “Over the years, Oshi has nurtured many creative minds within MTV and we are confident that the legacy he leaves behind will be aptly taken forward by his exceptionally talented team.”

    As regards his new port of call, Oshidar will however, not be working full time at Contest2Win. He will be devoting three days a week there and the remaining two days of the week he hopes to work on a project-to-project basis in the area where he is most comfortable – consumer facing youth community communications.

    One of the other factors that prompted Oshidar’s decision to quit might well have been the scythe that went through the MTV Networks Asia Pacific Singapore headquarters in early October, which lead to 84 redundancies and coincided with the departure of MTV Networks Asia Pacific president Nigel Robbins and also saw regional functions and corporate roles decentralized from Singapore.

    Oshidar, who had been expecting to move to a bigger role within the MTV Networks system outside India, probably felt that he was stagnating in his current position.

  • Zee News launches online game ‘The Prince of Kurukshetra’ on Games2Win

    MUMBAI: The news story on the rescue operation of The Prince of Kurukshetra had gripped the nation’s media and particularly the Zee News. The Hindi news channel has now tied up with the online game portal Games2win (g2w) to launch a game on The Prince of Kurukshetra, with a mission to save Prince.

    The game will be promoted it through its channel. In the near future, in partnership with Games2win, Zee News will offer the Prince of Kurukshetra game on mobile phones soon.

    The game has been templated in a the same setting of Kurukshetra. The game is enveloped on rescuing a boy that has fallen into a deep well.
