    Percept kick-starts marcom unit with IPL report

    MUMBAI: Percept Limited, India‘s leading entertainment, media and communications company, has launched a new unit, Percept Media Lab, which will delve into analytics, forecasts and future trends and concepts in the marcom space.

    The new unit will be led by Allied Media CEO Shripad Kulkarni.

    The first report to churn from the lab is “Comprehensive Statistical Viewership Analysis of IPL 5”, which forecasts IPL TV viewership using approach of analytics, advanced statistics and audience research.

    The next initiative of Percept Media Lab is a M3 project. At the heart of M3 is a big 20000 sample size consumer study, which will explore the path to purchase or P2P for 10 product categories in the context of marcom challenges and strategies.

    This study will measure the importance of key drivers for each of the categories and perception of top brands on each of those. The high point of this study will be the unique M3 model in collaboration with Pointlogic, a world Leader in marcom planning and analytics that combines cutting-edge research, advanced mathematical modeling, and flexible software tools to deliver optimum message and media touch point combination for maximising market share.

    Percept bags media & creative mandates of FedEx

    MUMBAI: Percept Limited has bagged the media and creative mandates of logistic services company, FedEx.


    Percept’s media buying and planning arm, Allied Media, will handle the media duties. Percept/H, the companys advertising arm, will take care of the creative mandate.


    An official from the agency confirmed the news.


    Earlier, Dentsu Media handled the media duties, while Dentsu Communications oversaw the creative duties of FedEx.

    Allied Media ups BalaKrishna as COO

    MUMBAI: Allied Media, the media buying and planning arm of Percept Ltd, has elevated PM BalaKrishna to the position of chief operating officer.

    BalaKrishna, who was vice president, will take charge of the entire operations of the current Rs 10 billion franchise that Allied media manages.

    Balakrishna had joined Allied Media along with Shripad Kulkarni – the CEO of the company since its inception in April 2007. Soon, Balakrishna was promoted as the VP of the company.

    According to the company, Balakrishna has played a key role in building a formidable team to service all the group clients of Percept, including North and South Regions.

    He has been an intrinsic force for the company in forging business relationships with a varied mix of clients such as Panasonic, Toyota, Canon, Hirco, Nahar Group and Sahara Group.

    In his 20 years of experience, Balakrishna has worked in sales and marketing with media houses like Times of India – Bennett, Coleman & Co. Ltd and Zee Network.

    Kulkarni said, “BalaKrishna has been the key resource of Allied Media since its inception and has played a pivotal role in the super success story of the company.     TME ropes in Chetan Ahuja as GM Mumbai

    MUMBAI: The Media Edge (TME), Rediffusion Y&R‘s media planning arm, has appointed Chetan Ahuja as its general manager for Mumbai.

    This position was previously occupied by Navroze Hodiwala, who has recently joined Allied Media as its general manager, strategy.

    A reliable source in TME has informed Indiantelevision.com that Ahuja joined the agency on 17 January. Prior to this, Ahuja was with Media Directions as media director.

    In his career panning over 13 years Ahuja has worked with JWT Mumbai, Triton Communications, Lodestar Media, India Today and Dainik Bhaskar.
