    In this key role, Singh will spearhead the company’s end-to-end procurement, covering sourcing, spend management and strategic management of cost levers of the supply chain. This is a new role and structure being created by Ecom Express to build a stronger P&L focus and driving a clear cost management agenda.

    Pankaj Singh comes with a distinguished career as an entrepreneur, founding and managing multiple successful businesses at the intersection of physical set-up in real estate and technology solutions. In his previous stints, he has handled multi-thousand crore spends across large brands. He was previously the chief growth officer at The House of Abhinandan Lodha. Pankaj is an IIM-Ahmedabad graduate, batch of 2011.

    Airtel acquires 25 per cent stake in Lavelle Networks

    Mumbai: Telecom major Bharti Airtel has acquired about a 25 per cent equity stake in Bengaluru-based technology startup Lavelle Networks. The agreement is subject to statutory approvals.

    Lavelle Networks specialises in software-defined wide area network solutions and it serves a range of industry segments. “As more enterprises move to cloud-based applications to serve their customers in a digital-first ecosystem, they require on-demand and reliable network connectivity. As a result, there is a surge in demand for software-defined solutions that have the agility to serve a cloud-based hybrid IT environment,” said the statement.

    “SD-WAN is the necessary arsenal for enterprises to transform and future-proof their network infrastructure in this digital age,” said Frost & Sullivan South Asia associate director and head ICT Apalak Ghosh. “Its market in India is expected to grow exponentially at a CAGR of 55 per cent in 2022-2026. As per F&S End-User Survey 2021, about 62 per cent of enterprises plan to deploy SD-WAN across their organization in the next 1-2 years. Some of the major drivers which would contribute to this phenomenal run include the need for seamless management of hybrid networks, faster deployment of new sites, and network cost-efficiency.”

    HCIPL, Airtel announce JV to provide satellite broadband in India

    Mumbai: Hughes Communications India Pvt Ltd (HCIPL) and Bharti Airtel have announced the formation of a joint venture to provide satellite broadband services in India.

    The new entity operational as HCIPL combines the very small aperture terminal (VSAT) businesses of both companies to offer flexible and scalable enterprise network solutions using satellite connectivity for primary transport, back-up, and hybrid implementation. Now serving Airtel VSAT customers, HCIPL has a combined base of over 200,000 VSATs and is the largest satellite service operator in the country.

    The agreement, announced in May 2019, has received all statutory approvals, including those from the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) and Department of Telecom (Government of India) and the joint venture has been formed.

    Mumbai: Airtel Business, the B2B unit of Bharti Airtel, announced the appointment of Harish Laddha as chief executive officer for emerging business. He will report to Ajay Chitkara, director and CEO – Airtel Business, the company said in a statement.

    Laddha will be responsible for identifying and leveraging growth opportunities in emerging categories such as the small and medium business (SMB) segment. He will lead a dedicated team to bring to market highly differentiated offerings for these emerging segments, it added.
