    History appoints MPG as its agency on record

    MUMBAI: The A + E Networks and TV 18 JV has taken MPG onboard for media duties for the soon-to-be-launched History channel in India. History will focus on factual entertainment. The agency will work on the media strategy for the launch of History channel and sustenance thereof in India.

    MPG was appointed for the account, following pitches made by four agencies.

    A+E Networks TV18 JV president Ajay Chacko said, “The subject history has always been associated with the past in India, but with the all new HISTORY channel, we hope to hange people‘s perception of history.     CNBC TV18 adds personal finance to ‘Your Stocks’

    MUMBAI: CNBC-TV18, the leading English business news channel from the TV18 stable, is revamping one of its longest running shows, Your Stocks’, from 29 April.

    The show, which enables viewers to seek answers to their stock related queries, will now expand its scope by including queries based on personal finance and commodities also.

    Also, the show will now be hosted by markets and personal finance expert Vivek Law along with Sonia Shenoy. The first episode of this new format on 29 April will focus on answering investment queries of personnel from the Indian Armed Forces.

    CNBC TV18 to launch talk show with Vir Sanghvi

    MUMBAI: English business news channel CNBC TV18 is launching a new weekend talk show with Vir Sanghvi on 6 February.

    The show, Off the Record, will air every Saturday at 8 pm and have a repeat telecast at 9 pm on Sundays. It will focus on some of the biggest names in politics and policymaking, depicting their professional journey and their insights on the biggest issues of the day.

    The first show will see Vir Sanghvi meeting Home Minister P Chidambaram. The home minister will speak on 26/11, Indo-Pak relations, the diplomatic efforts in bringing perpetrators to justice and re-invigorating India’s security apparatus.

    CNBC-TV18 revamps weekend programming

    MUMBAI: CNBC-TV18 is revamping its weekend programming with three market-focused shows on the weekend, led by Udayan Mukherjee.

    Markets Next Week, a future focused weekly markets show, will involve India’s leading analysts and market commentators discussing past trends.

    Portfolio will throw light on portfolio management strategies, investing in new asset classes and ensuring good risk-return investing scenarios. The weekend show Classroom will focus on understanding and evaluating the markets, fundamental analysis and trading strategies, especially from a new investor perspective.

    It is launching a weekend show Business With Pleasure, which will feature India Inc’s most well known business leaders as they unwind and relax with their favourite hobbies, interspersed with their unique leadership insights, corporate mantras and vision.

  • CNBC-TV18 focuses on South India with ‘Up South’

    MUMBAI: CNBC-TV18 is all set to launch a new show Up South to capture a 360-degree view of southern India. The show will capture the buzz in Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad, Trivandrum and Kochi – from multiple perspectives.

    The show will telecast live on every Saturday at 10:30 am and a repeat telecast will be aired at 7 pm on Sundays.

    The show will include a content focus on small and medium enterprises, infrastructure problems, realty prices, private equity flows into the cities; government policy in the states and the entertainment from the South.

    CNBC-TV18 will report stories from the smaller towns and cities that go largely unheard. It claims to act as a trend spotter on the changing trends in southern India’s business landscape.

    Up South will also include a special segment for young viewers straight from major campuses such as IIT Chennai, ISB Hyderabad, IIM Bangalore and the likes — to hear the voice of young India on the key issues of the week.
