    Karan Johar to direct Aishwarya Rai Bachchan

    MUMBAI: Karan Johar is all set to begin his next directorial venture, Ae Dil Hai Mushkil that will star Ranbir Kapoor, Anushka Sharma and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in lead roles.

     

    He confirms that love and conflict are the primary themes of his upcoming film. While he thinks that it is too soon to talk about the project, he confirms that this will not be just another conventional love story. Talking about his team on board, Karan Johar says that Ranbir and Anushka’s undeniable chemistry in upcoming Bombay Velvet warranted another film and once he finalized the story, they were the first people he thought of for the lead roles.

     

    Speaking about Aishwarya’s role Karan commented, “It is possibly Aishwarya’s most unusual and contemporary character”. The music for this film will be given by Pritam.

     

    The movie will be shot in New York, London, Paris and parts of Delhi.

     

     “Everyone I know has been through intense love and heartbreak and ADHM is a film that deeply resonates those emotions”, says Karan.

     

    Dharma Productions’ Ae Dil Hai Mushkil is slated to release on 3 June 2016.

    MUMBAI: It was an afternoon of fashion, beauty and bonding for L’Oréal Paris ambassadors Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Freida Pinto at a special shoot for L’Oréal Paris at Cannes. It is the first time that Aishwarya and Freida are working together. Freida Pinto was quite excited to be doing a shoot with Aishwarya and immediately got up to greet and hug her when she came into the L’Oréal Paris Glamour Room at The Martinez. Both immediately got chatting about the festival and in fact Aishwarya was also heard gushing about her daughter Araadhya to Frieda.

     

    Aishwarya and Freida were both overheard discussing the unexpected delay in Aishwarya’s arrival at Cannes which resulted in her missing the first red carpet. Freida mentioned she was really happy to have gotten a chance to finally do a shoot with Aishwarya and couldn’t wait to see her L’Or Lumi?re inspired red carpet look.

     

    Speaking about Freida, Aishwarya said, “I always look forward to meeting L’Oréal Paris spokespeople at Cannes every year. I have met Freida for the first time in person. All of us L’Oréal Paris spokespeople are so different, but each one of us is worth it.”

     

    Both the ladies had quite the afternoon bonding over L’Oréal Paris and the Festival de Cannes. Freida Pinto attended the event on 17 and 18 May, while Aishwarya will walk the red carpet on 20 and 21 May.

    MUMBAI: L’Oréal Paris has confirmed that Aishwarya Rai Bachchan will now walk the red carpet for the brand at Festival de Cannes on 20 and 21 May. After missing her first appearance due to the ATC strike in France, L’Oréal Paris India along with the team at Cannes have worked together to confirm her presence. She will walk the red carpet for the premiere of the film Deux Jours, Une Nuit, by Jean Pierre and Luc Dardenne.

     

    L’Oréal Paris India general manager Manashi Guha said, “We’re happy to announce the new dates for Aishwarya’s appearances at Cannes. While the flight delay was unexpected, we ensured that an alternative date was arranged for her, so that she can proudly represent the L’Oréal Paris and India at the festival.”

     

    Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has been associated with L’Oréal Paris for over a decade and this will be her thirteenth year representing the brand at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival. Aishwarya will be sporting looks inspired by the L’Or Lumi?re theme for L’Oréal Paris.

    MGM plans Pink Panther reboot with Julie Andrews

    MUMBAI: Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer (MGM)’s chairman and CEO Gary Barber and president of motion picture group Jonathan Glickman announced on 31 March that it is currently in the process for producing a full-length hybrid animation and live-action feature film based on the animated Pink Panther character.

     

    Walter Mirisch, executive producer of the original Pink Panther films and television series will serve as the producer of the new film, along with Academy Award-winning actress, Julie Andrews (The Princess Diaries), wife of the late director Blake Edwards. David Silverman (The Simpsons Movie, Monsters, Inc.) will direct.  The Pink Panther character originated a remarkable fifty years ago.

     

    The new caper film will focus on the character, rather than inspector Clouseau, and will reminisce back to the tone shared by the original Friz Freleng and David De Patie cartoons as well as that of Blake Edwards’ films.

     

    “We are incredibly proud to re-introduce the Pink Panther to a brand new generation in such a fresh way. Even more exciting is the chance to work again with our dear friends Walter Mirisch and Julie Andrews, as well as the talented David Silverman, whose enthusiasm convinced us to ‘Think Pink!’,” said Glickman in a press statement.

     

    “I am delighted that the legacy of Blake’s iconic Pink Panther franchise will continue to grow in its new hybrid form. It is exciting that the quintessential ‘next step’ for our beloved Panther will be enjoyed by a fourth generation of audiences. I feel that Blake is encouraging us on,” said Andrews in the statement.

    MUMBAI: Kitchen appliances manufacturer TTK Prestige, part of the Rs 2,500 crore TTK Group, has roped in Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan  as their brand ambassadors.

    A campaign has been launched with Prestige re-introducing the line ‘Jo biwi se kare pyaar, woh Prestige se kaise kare inkaar’. It has been conceptualised by DDB Mudra – Bengaluru.

    Talking about the campaign which will see the couple on screen after a long time, DDB Mudra, senior VP & head Bengaluru Sujoy Gosh says, “We want to premiumise the brand and get it connected to the new urban Indian couple. And establish it as a national player which has a large range of products for the evolving indian kitchen.”

    The campaign will have six TVCs wherein five for different products and one introducing the iconic line and establishing the range. “We have used the lines very refreshingly and contextualised it in every TVC.  The products are weaved in as part of the story, so they seamlessly blend in and are a delight to watch. The stories are taken from their daily life. We had a number of discussions with the stars to come up with stories which are real. The stars were part of the creative development process right from the beginning,” adds Gosh.

    It is a complete 360 approach and will be using TV, print and digital extensively. As of now, the agency and the company are also in talks to develop AFPs with TV channels as well so that the brand thought can get magnified.

    Vidya Balan who started her Bollywood career with Parineeta, has been simultaneously lauded and criticised for her full-figure.

     

    The talented actress is undergoing a transformation for her upcoming film opposite Emraan Hashmi. Directed by Mohit Suri, the Vishesh Films production will see Vidya play a florist working with a posh hotel. The role demanded Vidya to shed a few kilos to fit the mould, and Vidya readily complied.

     

    The filmmakers did not ask Vidya to lose weight, but she knew that the role demanded so. She is an intelligent artiste who puts in a lot of effort to portray characters convincingly, so she is on a strict diet and exercise regime.

     

    This has not happened for the first time, many actors have actually shaped up as and when the role demands for. Best example would be Kareena Kapoor for her film Tashan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan for Dhoom 2 and many more.

    Vidya Balan was last seen opposite Emraan in Ghanchakkar. Prior to that, the two worked together in Milan Luthria’s The Dirty Picture.

Kolkata Chief Minister Mamta Banerjee has made an official declaration regarding the same, “I am very happy and delighted to share with you all, that Shri Amitabh Bachchan ji, a great legend, has kindly accepted our invitation to inaugurate the 19th Kolkata International Film Festival to be held on 10th November, 2013.”

    Bollywood celebrities like, Shah Rukh Khan, Jaya Bachchan, Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan are also expected to be present at the film festival. CM Mamta Banerjee has said that she is making efforts to get the whole Bachchan family at the event and at the same time she said that state’s brand ambassador SRK is also likely to be present there. If all these celebs come in the film festival then it would be really amazing for their fans to see all of them on the same platform together.

    MUMBAI: Bollywood Megastar Amitabh Bachchan and Manju Warrier, a popular Malayalam actress will soon be seen in the Kalyan Jewellers TVC. The advertisement, which has been shot in Goa, will go on air on 15 July. The advertisement is a part of the brand campaign ‘Vishwasam Athalle Ellam‘ of Kalyan Jewellers.

    Amitabh, who is already one among the brand ambassadors of Kalyan Jewellers, had previously shot an ad-film with Malayalam actor Dileep, who is Manju‘s husband. Manju has previously been seen in Malayalam movies like Aram Thampuran and Kanmadam. The actress through the TVC will be announcing her come back after a gap of 14 years.

    Kalyan Jewellers is one of the largest jewellery chains in India. The brand has roped in several renowned actors to be its brand ambassadors. Few of these names include Amitabh Bachchan, Dileep, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Nagarjuna Akkineni, Prabhu Ganesan and Shivaraj Kumar.

    MUMBAI: Indian film director and screenwriter Anurag Kashyap will be conferred with the French Governments Knight of the Order of Arts and Letters for his successful contribution in Indian cinema at the Cannes Film Festival on 20 May.

    India is the guest country at the 66th French culture minister Aurelie Filippetti will honour Kashyap with the Chevalier dans l‘ordre des Arts et Lettres‘ (Knight of the Order of Arts and Letters) during Cannes film festival.

    The French government‘s honour is awarded to the person who has gained recognition by themselves in their creativity field of art and their contribution to the influence of arts in France and throughout the world.
     
    Four of Kashyap‘s works, including production projects ‘Monsoon Shootout’ and ‘Lunchbox’, as well as directorials ‘Ugly‘ and ‘Bombay Talkies’, are to be screened at the fiesta.

    Some past Indian recipients of the honour include Lata Mangeshkar, Shah Rukh Khan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Raghu Rai.
