    AFAA to organise training programme for ad, media professionals in Malaysia

     MUMBAI: The Asian Federation of Advertising Associations (AFAA), of which Advertising Council of India (a division of STACA Trust) is a member, had commissioned a unique initiative in 2013, called Fast Track Professional Excellence Programme. In its third year now, the Fast Track Professional Excellence Programme, is a three day specialized training programme held in Malaysia. It is targeted at young professionals from advertising, marketing and media industry. This year, the specialized training programme will be held from 17-19 April, 2015.

     

    Fast Track Professional Excellence Programme was designed with an aim to support the up-and-coming-stars of the industry in their growth. It empowers young professionals (below 35 years and with at least five years of work experience) with the necessary skills to excel in their respective professions. This year, too, The Standing Committee on Advertising (STACA) will be sponsoring around four – six young professionals for this programme. It’s an expression of STACA’s and ACI’s commitment to the industry in India. 

     

    Commenting on the initiative AFAA chairman Pradeep Guha said, “Since its launch in 2013, the Fast Track Professional Excellence Programme has been a catalyst in accelerating the careers of many young professionals. This year too, the three-day specialized training programme will guide young professionals to reconnect with their passion for the industry, and enhance their skills as they face the challenges ahead. ”

     

    Young professionals can apply for Fast Track Programme sponsorship by writing an article on how communication can be made into a force for good. The article (not more than 100 words) should be mailed to acifasttrack@gmail.com along with their brief profile (age, valid passport number, jobs details, etc.) before 24 March, 2015.

    MUMBAI: The Asian Federation of Advertising Associations (AFAA), of which Advertising Council of India (A Division of STACA Trust) is a member, had commissioned a unique initiative last year called Fast Track Professional Excellence Program. It is a 30-hour skills improvement certification program, held in Malaysia. In its second year, the program this year will be held between 11 and 13 July 2014.

     

    Fast Track Professional Excellence Program was designed with an aim to support the up-and-coming-stars of the industry in their growth. The Program empowers young professionals (below 35 years) from the advertising and marketing fields with the necessary skills to excel in their respective professions. This year too, The Standing Committee on Advertising (STACA) will be defraying substantial part of the expenses to send 4-6 young professionals for this program. It’s an expression of STACA’s and ACI’s commitment to the industry in India.

     

    Commenting on the initiative, AFAA chairman Pradeep Guha said, “Post a successful pilot event in 2013, this three-day intensive residential Fast Track programme is back to guide young professionals to re-connect with their passion for the industry, and develop resilience, empowerment and leadership that will anchor them as they face the challenges ahead. I hope young marketing and advertising professionals will grab this opportunity to put their careers on the fast track.”

     

    Young professionals can apply for the Fast Track Program sponsorship by writing an article about the problems face by their industry and also the possible solutions for these problems. The article (not more than 75 words) along with their brief profile (age, valid passport number, jobs details, etc.) should be sent out before 3 June 2014.

    Srinivasan K Swamy to lead Indian delegation at AdAsia 2013

    MUMBAI:  The Indian delegate will be represented by RK Swamy BBDO and president India Chapter of the International Advertising Association (IAA) Srinivsan K Swamy in the bi-annual advertising conference that maps the ascent of Asia’s vibrant market.

     

    Reacting to the news Swamy said, “It is a privilege to represent the country at such a prestigious international event.” He added that India had a very special place in the recent history of the AdAsia movement having hosted two of the best events in India in 2003 and 2011. He said that Adsia 2013 would be very interesting and informative.

     

    Asian Federation of Advertising Associations (AFAA) chairman Pradeep Guha welcomed the announcement and said, “This year AdAsia is being held in Hanoi between 11 and 14 November. There is great interest in this event as there is a galaxy of very good confirmed speakers and Vietnam is an emerging economic leader. Besides, the region is known for its natural beauty and the UNESCO World Heritage Site Ha Long Bay.”

     

    The festival continues to expand over the course of its illustrious history spanning more than 55 years attracting 1200 advertising professionals from member countries, as well as the leaders of many of the most influential advertising and marketing communications enterprises in the world.

     

    This year, the festival will see a melange of all new things. There is special impetus on uncovering what will be the next agency business model, considering a lot of business structures are now creaking.  Also equally thrilling will be the understanding of how fast mobile advertising is penetrating the east of Asia, heralding the digital age at a faster than expected pace.

    ACI sends 4 young professionals to attend AFAA’s first Fast Track Programme

    MUMBAI: The Advertising Council of India (ACI) has announced that it will sponsor four young professionals to attend the Fast Track program commissioned by the Asian Federation of Advertising Associations (AFAA).

    This is the first year of the Fast Track Professional Excellence Programme and it will be held from 3 September to 7 September this year. The program aims to re-orient young professionals to build on their basic skills in marketing and advertising and become achievers. Veteran advertising professional Janet Lee will be conducting the five-day residential programme.

    AFAA chairman Pradeep Guha said, “This holistic training programme is aimed at identifying young talent and converting them into potential leaders. I believe they would emerge from this program far more productive and happier. They will receive a truly international experience with exposure to industry leaders.”

    AFAA was started in 1978 and has since then been in efforts to unify Asia‘s advertising associations and aims to upgrade standards, ethics and practices of advertising and to bring positive contributions from advertising activities at regional and national levels.

    ACI‘s members include The Indian Society of Advertisers (ISA) The Advertising Club Bombay, The Advertising Agencies Association of India (AAAI), The Indian Broadcasters Foundation (IBF), the India Chapter of the International Advertising Association (IAA) and the Standing Committee on Advertising (STACA).

    Pradeep Guha is chairman of AFAA executive committee

    MUMBAI: Asian Federation of Advertising Associations (AFAA) has elected Pradeep Guha, who represents the Advertising Council of India, as the chairman of its newly mandated executive committee for a period of four years.

    Raymond So, representing Taipei Association of Advertising Agencies, was elected deputy chairman.

    AFAA is known in the Asian region for organising the biennial AdAsia Congress. It has also helped incubate the AdFest held annually in Pattaya and the Asia Pacific Media Forum held biennially in Bali, Indonesia.

    The new four-person committee consists of Bharat Avalani (regional IBC director, Asia Africa Middle East & Turkey, Unilever), Anthony Kang (representing Association of Accredited Advertising Agents, Singapore), Soon Dong Lee (representing Korea Federation of Advertising Associations) and Ramesh Narayan (representing the Advertising Council of India).

    Guha said, “There is a real need for an umbrella body like AFAA which represents the interests of marketers, agencies and the media to play a more proactive role in the Asian subcontinent.”

    AFAA was founded in 1978 and has representations in 15 Asian nations including India, Japan, Korea, Taipei, Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia, Singapore, Philippines, Indonesia, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Pakistan and UAE. Its primary objectives are to unify all Asian associations involved in the various aspects of advertising and upgrade the standards, ethics, and practices of advertising and to bring about a meaningful contribution from advertising activities to both regional and national socio-economic development.
