ADK Fortune produces short film ‘Raabta’

Coronavirus is here to stay and has changed and impacted the world in ways in more ways than one.  All communication for most part of this year has been focused on this virus. From saluting corona warriors, to public service messages urging people to wear masks and maintaining social distance.

ADK Fortune, a WPP company and part of Wunderman Thompson South Asia Group, felt it was now time to spread a message of hope and how corona patients had actually found friends who stood by them.

With cases increasing by the day, it was their belief that they needed to create not just an advertisement – but a short film that actually took on this gloomy picture and turned it around.

And thus, was born a completely pro-bono effort between ADK Fortune and director Gautam Vaze at Full Circle Productions.

Speaking about the core idea, Nakul Sharma, VP and ECD, ADK Fortune, said, “The creative script took off when we realised that a simple game of tambola went beyond love for the game and took on a deeper meaning of care, love and support. We are overwhelmed by the response the film has received. The messages across age groups and from different parts of the country ( not to mention NRIs who have sent it back to their friends and family in India) just proves that what started out as just a simple idea to bring cheer and positivity has already touched hundred thousands of people.”

The production house and the director managed to coordinate a remote shoot between two locations and three actors namely national award-winning actor Arundhati Nag and theatre stalwart Neena Kulkarni along with Aayushi Lahir whose acting prowess made this film even more powerful.

  • Brands show human side amidst Covid2019 crisis

Brands show human side amidst Covid2019 crisis

NEW DELHI: While the Covid2019 pandemic came out as probably the most devastating blow to the business world as well as to the society, it also brought forth a number of heartening stories of human kindness and support. Be it the on-ground coverage that several news reporters are doing or the warm hospitality that the hospital staff and police personnel are showing, or the exceptional support that several social workers and famous personalities have extended to the underprivileged, we saw humanity raising its head high on many occasions. Indiantelevision.com had also covered how the pandemic even brought brands and agency partners  closer.

Not just that, many brands rose above their usual business and indulged in great deeds of public service too. Be it ACC Trust spending close to Rs five crore to help the migrant labours and villagers around ACC Cement’s factories or Relaxo and Metro Shoes donating footwear to the large exodus of migrant workers fleeing to home on feet, there have been ample examples of brands extending a helping hand in time of this unprecedented crisis.

Speaking about the varied initiatives that Metro Shoes has taken to support the community, VP–marketing and e-commerce Alisha Malik told Indiantelevision.com, “The pandemic brought the country and the economy to a staggering halt. While it impacted each one of us, the migrant workers were the most affected. Their struggle to meet their basic needs of food, shelter, financial security and reach their homeland was heart-wrenching. We felt that it was important for us to do our bit to support them in the time of crisis and that is how we came up with the Metro Cares Initiative.”

Under the initiative, the brand provided ration kits to daily wagers with the help of Salaam Bombay Foundation and footwear to all those in need on their journey back home with the help of United Way of Mumbai and the Rotary Club. PPE kits to hospitals and masks to policemen were also provided with the help of United Way of Mumbai.

Sanitary napkin brand Pro-ease from the house of RSPL distributed over 10 lakh sanitary pads to frontline warriors managing the crisis.

RSPL director Rohit Gyanchandani shared, “We came across a few news reports and on-ground stories of how sanitary napkins were in short supply and women were facing difficulties due to that. Coupled with that we were also witnessing a phenomenal selfless service from corona warriors of both genders. When we put these two stories together, we as a team wanted to do our bit and came up with the idea of distributing 10 lac pads to women corona warriors free of cost as a small token of appreciation from Pro-ease.”

He added, “In times like these when the whole nation is going through a crisis, I think it’s imperative for everyone to do whatever little they can to help in whichever way possible. Whether you are a citizen or a brand, the fact remains that you ought to do the things you can, to make a difference for the better.”

The brand also launched a powerful campaign #RoktiHoonRuktiNahin created by ADK Fortune to salute these female superheroes.

ADK Fortune VP and ECD Nakul Sharma shared his experience of working on the campaign by saying, “The experience was first of all very humbling. Because the gravity of the fight put up by corona frontline warriors, especially women suddenly hit us in the face.”

Congratulating the brand on taking up this great initiative, he added, “Pro-ease had a solid proposition and decided to be a doer and not just a talker – which frankly makes all the difference in these times. These initiatives give clients a chance to show their human side as well. This epidemic is a time like no other and frankly keeping quiet is not an option. People want to know and hear from their brands and expect them to have a human point of view.”

Malik also highlighted that it is very important for brands to participate in supporting the community in difficult times as she said, “As important as CSR is for the community, it is equally valuable for a company. It is important for brands to stand up for causes that matter. In fact, in such times, it is important that each one of us takes a step towards helping all those in need. We are glad that we had access to resources that could help the migrant workers in their journey back home.”

Gas-O-Fast signs on Saurabh Shukla and Biswanath Basu

MUMBAI: Mankind Pharma’s Gas-O-Fast, known for its natural antacids, is focused on establishing a stronger presence across the nation. They recently got Saurabh Shukla and Biswanath Basu on board as brand ambassadors for their new campaign. Saurabh Shukla is a well-known face at a Pan-India level whereas Biswanath Basu is particularly popular in the eastern states. Both these celebrities will help tap into new markets, bringing certain credibility on deck for the brand to take advantage of.

Keeping in mind both the actor’s forte – a brilliant comic timing – the new campaign is designed in a fun and quirky way. The humour being evoked in the film stems from something close to the product world – heartburn – coming alive in both, its literal and metaphorical sense.

Commenting on the campaign, Mankind Pharma DGM Joy Chatterjee said, “It was time for us to broaden our market base by establishing our presence across the country. This venture demanded fresh pieces of communication with acclaimed celebrities for higher brand recall. Thus, Saurabh Shukla and Biswanath Basu became a fitting choice for us.”

The campaign was conceptualized and executed by ADK Fortune, a WPP agency. managing partner Subroto Pradhan added, “It was important to play on the discomfort of heartburn. We thought in a category which mostly rides on the problem-solution approach, a tinge of humour that brings out the ‘jalan’ as an emotion could do the trick. And who could better deliver that than Saurabh and Biswanath.”

Mr. Anil Chugh, President – Consumer Care Business, Wipro Consumer Care and Lighting, said, “Through Santoor advertising we tell a new story about ‘Mistaken Age’ in 30 seconds. Focus of our communication is on the Santoor protagonist and key message of Younger Looking Skin. Celebrities helps us to deliver this message sharply in the film, apart from helping to break the clutter and gain high brand recall. Over the years we have carefully chosen celebrities for Santoor. Keeping the essence of Santoor in mind, stars Varun Dhawan, Mahesh Babu and Karthi were the perfect fit to tell our new story of the Santoor Woman.”

Santoor’s new communication includes a TV commercial that presents the brand’s signature campaign of mistaken identity and the core proposition of Younger Looking Skin in a new light. The commercial is shot by advertising agency ADK Fortune.

Capturing India’s passion for cricket, the commercial is filmed in a stadium with the backdrop of a cricket match where the celebrity is in the stands enjoying the match. Suddenly a sixer wings his way and while the celebrity attempts to catch the ball, it is caught by the protagonist. Looking at the protagonist the celebrity feels she can be a new female lead for his next film. While the protagonist is rejoicing, a little girl runs up to the reveler shouting ‘Mummy’, which leaves the celebrity and everyone around surprised.

Over the years the brand has grown from a single soap brand to soap variants, talcum powder, deodorants, liquid soap, handwash, facewash and so on and has been constantly launching new brand variants and new products in tune with market demands and needs. Santoor remains as one of the most aggressive personal care brands in India.

  • Schmitten wanted people to see Diwali in a new light

Schmitten wanted people to see Diwali in a new light

MUMBAI: For Schmitten, Diwali is called the Festival of Lights for a reason. One of the most popular festivals in the country, Diwali marks the spiritual victory of light over darkness. Conventional Diwali commercials showcase this as a time to celebrate with the family. But with #AadhiAadhiDiwali, Schmitten Chocolates wanted people to celebrate the festival with their loved ones – especially the ones who are often not included in the celebrations of your immediate family.

An initiative by Schmitten Luxury Chocolates, #AadhiAadhiDiwali wanted to build a sense of belonging towards the family of one’s partner. The initiative wanted people to accept themselves as a member of their partner’s family, and create new memories with them, as if they were your own family. Schmitten believes in bringing you closer to every part of your family, which makes every occasion more memorable.

Schmitten Moments is a gifting pack with an assortment of Schmitten Luxury chocolates and Hoppits Chocolate bars. The brand believes in not only sharing sweetness but also sharing memories, thereby making every moment memorable. Schmitten believes that these wonderful moments last a lifetime – a thought summarized by its brand tagline “Moments Make Memories”.

According to Jayesh Desai, the founder and chairman of Rajhans (Desai-Jain) Group, the brand is breaking new ground when it comes to festival advertising. “Where every brand is riding on the festival season to deliver the same-old stories, Schmitten is creating new conversations, which will impact positively within the society and give Diwali celebrations a whole new meaning.”

Schmitten marketing head Rishabh Verma believes this initiative is the beginning of a cultural paradigm shift. “Usually, men do not look beyond their immediate family. We wanted to not only make men accept their responsibility towards their partner’s family, but also foster a sense of belonging. #AadhiAadhiDiwali is the beginning of a very poignant conversation that shall spark a new reason to celebrate Diwali.”

Envisioned by ADK-Fortune, a WPP group company, the campaign has already struck an emotional chord with its consumer base. Commenting on its success, national creative director Akashneel Dasgupta said, “It reminds you that when you share everything with your loved ones, why should Diwali be an exception? Diwali should bring together the entire family, which extends to your partner’s as well. Understanding this is key to building a healthier relationship. Not to mention, making new memories.”

ADK-Fortune managing partner Subroto Pradhan added, “Schmitten Moments is not just a premium gift offering. It also stands for creating lasting memories and celebration of togetherness. And what better occasion than Diwali to create moments that are memorable.”

  • Ghadi detergent launches new campaign for Diwali

Ghadi detergent launches new campaign for Diwali

MUMBAI: Ghadi has always believed in provoking its consumers to be more socially conscious and aware.

Its campaign, #SaareMaelDhoDaalo has become synonymous with cleaning which goes beyond clothes. The campaign has not only made its way into the hearts of people, but the efforts towards initiating a social change also resulted in the campaign winning the Effie Awards 2017 amongst many others.

In the past 2 years, Ghadi identified 3 key festivals of India and decided to propagate its philosophy of #SaareMaelDhoDaalo. It urged people to cleanse their minds of this deep-seated filth. Every single time, it identified and addressed a new notion of the mind and showed a mirror to the society.

Continuing with the idea, the new campaign around Diwali tackles another kind of ‘mael’. This time, Ghadi urges its consumers to give each profession its due respect and not to belittle people for what they do.

The TVC takes place inside every proverbial Indian household, where the domestic help is taken for granted. Their efforts and sacrifices go unnoticed. Often, their work is considered as “menial”. The TVC advocates the cleansing of this ‘mael’ through the story of a teenager. We see him constantly admonishing the maid’s efforts, until his mother asks him to step into her shoes. The lesson he learns is a lesson for us all. The campaign requests us to realise that no work is small. It urges people to realise the worth of every work that comes their way and understand the importance of people in their lives.

ADK Fortune National Creative Director Akashneel Dasgupta says, “In continuation with our campaign, this is yet another aspect that we are trying to address. To restore dignity of work, whatever be the nature of it. This, we hope, will further strengthen Ghadi’s cleansing credentials in the minds of people.”

The film has been conceptualised by ADK Fortune and executed by Full Circle Films.
