    Bangalore Ad Club’s Big Bang Awards tonight

    BENGALURU: The countdown for many an ad agency has already commenced. The Ad Club of Bangalore’s Big Bang Awards function will be held tonight at the Jaya Mahal Palace Hotel in the garden city.

    The Ad Club Bangalore has started many new categories over the past few years, including Health Care, Digital, PR and Mobile advertising. Recognising the ever growing media options, the ad club has a separate set of media awards which have become extremely popular. It has also instituted awards for young achievers, creative persons under 30, etc. to recognise and nurture their creative abilities and to offer them a platform to showcase their talent.

    The Ad Club Bangalore has roped in Bangalore Mirror as the lead partner; Suvarna Plus as the regional TV partner, Fever 104 FM as the official radio partner; Getty Images as the Image partner; Kinetic as the OOH partner; Suvarna News 24×7 as the news channel partner; Netcore as the mobile marketing partner; Inox as the multiplex partner; Ebeam as the LED display partner; and DNA as the event partner.

    In keeping with the global trend, the Bangalore Ad Club has tied-up with Global Best Awards, US to make the Big Bang awards online from this year.

    MUMBAI: A very emotional Shashi Sinha announced at the Emvies that he will be stepping down as the president of the ad club and will be giving way to Pratap Bose.

    DDB Mudra’s chief operating officer will take over the charge starting 10 September (Tuesday), but refused to comment on his plans for the club. “It will be unfair on my behalf to talk before the formal announcement is made next week,” says the current secretary of the Ad Club.

    There are going to be a few changes in the committee as well.

    In 2011, the then CEO of Lodestar Universal India Shashi Sinha had taken over the position from Bhaskar Das of the Times of India Group. In his speech at the Emvies, he had appreciated his committee members and the work done by the club. He wished the best for the club and its future endeavours.

  • Abbys adds Branded Content & Entertainment category

    MUMBAI: The Branded Content & Entertainment Abby has been added as a category in this year‘s edition of The Abbys, the advertising awards that take place during the Ad Club‘s annual festival Goafest.

    Branded content and entertainment has been defined as the creation of, or natural integration into, original content by a brand. The purpose is to deliver marketing messages by engaging consumers via relevant content platforms rather than the use of traditional advertising methods. It has the following six sub categories –

    • Best fictional program, series or film where a client has successfully created a drama, comedy or miniseries around a product or brand
    • Including TV, mini-series, web series, cinema, DVD releases and online/digital
    • Best non-fiction program, series or film where a client has successfully created a reality, documentary or entertainment show around a product(s) or brand(s)
    • Including TV, mini-series, web series, cinema, DVD releases and online/digital
    • Best brand or product integration into a feature film, existing TV show and/or series
    • Including TV, mini-series, web series, cinema, DVD releases and online/digital
    • Best use or integration of experiential events 
      ” Creative positioning of a brand using events, festivals, flash mobs, installations etc.
    • Best use or integration of music
    • Including music in original branded content, brand integration into music distribution or promotion, the creation of a music-based program or platform
    • Best integrated entertainment content campaign which uses more than 2 media.

    The last date for the entries is 28 February. This year, the Abbys will be held on 5 and 6 April in Goa.

    Ad Club’s EMVIEs to be held on 26 August

    MUMBAI: The awards ceremony of the 11th edition of EMVIEs, the media awards instituted by The Advertising Club Bombay, will be held on 26 August.

    The event has received 717 entries across 19 categories. Last year, it had received 397 entries.

    According to the club, the record entries are an indication of the growing media industry and the constantly evolving high standards.
     
    The EMVIEs Committee at the Ad Club brought about certain changes in the categories, sub dividing some and also introducing new ones.

    Thus, Digital is subdivided into Web, Social Media and Search &
    Mobile. Out of Home & Ambient Media are two separate categories and Branded/Scripted Content is a new category that has been introduced.

    As many as 31 agencies have participated in the competition and their work will be judged by 80 media professionals in Round I that will spread over three days.

    The Round II will happen on 17 and 18 of August in the format of Case Study Presentation at Welingkar Institute. The Round II is judged only by the marketing professionals.

    The awards ceremony will happen on 26 August.
