    Abhi-Aish to celebrate Happy Anniversary

    Ad maker Prahlad Kakkar, best known for his work on the famous Pepsi TV commercial with Amitabh Bachchan and Sachin Tendulkar is planning to dip his hands into Bollywood filmmaking.

     

    His upcoming flick will see the comeback of the gorgeous diva Aishwarya Bachchan. The film tentatively titled Happy Anniversary will be produced by Gaurang Doshi and will explore the anatomy of marriage.

     

    Ash’s hubby Abhishek Bachchan will be playing the male lead and the two will be seen sharing the screen space after a span of five years since their last film Guru in 2007.

     

    Happy Anniversary will be shot in Africa and is slated for a release in January 2014.

    ‘Dhoom 3’ trailer crosses 6.5 mn in 6 days on YouTube

    The much-awaited trailer of Aamir Khan and Katrina Kaif starrer Dhoom 3 is out and boy do people want to watch it or what!

    The action-packed teaser shows a devious Aamir Khan making an impressive statement highlighting the theme of the film has crossed the 6.5 million mark on YouTube.

    Bande hai hum uske, hum pe kiska zor…apne haatho kismat likne aaj chale hai hum.

    The film has some cutting-edge action sequences with Aamir Khan flaunting his well chiseled body and six pack abs.

    The teaser also gives a glimpse of the new Dhoom girl Katrina Kaif, who is sizzling in a white halter and black shorts.

    According to reports Katrina Kaif has done some daredevil stunts in the movie.

    Meanwhile, Abhishek Bachchan who is reprising his role as ACP Jai Dixit, is seen chasing the new baddie in town hanging from a chopper.

    Uday Chopra, who plays Abhishek Bachchan’s sidekick Ali, is also seen zooming on his bike.

    Dhoom 3 is set to release on December 20 this year. And with this teaser trailer, it surely looks like – ‘This year will end with a Dhoom.’

    Amitabh Bachchan to cut the ribbon for 19th KIFF

    Veteran actor Amitabh Bachchan will inaugurate the 19th Kolkata International Film Festival in the month of November. Kolkata Chief Minister Mamta Banerjee has made an official declaration regarding the same, “I am very happy and delighted to share with you all, that Shri Amitabh Bachchan ji, a great legend, has kindly accepted our invitation to inaugurate the 19th Kolkata International Film Festival to be held on 10th November, 2013.”

    Bollywood celebrities like, Shah Rukh Khan, Jaya Bachchan, Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan are also expected to be present at the film festival. CM Mamta Banerjee has said that she is making efforts to get the whole Bachchan family at the event and at the same time she said that state’s brand ambassador SRK is also likely to be present there. If all these celebs come in the film festival then it would be really amazing for their fans to see all of them on the same platform together.

    MUMBAI: Actress-director Revathi is set to make a comeback in Bollywood with 2 States.

     

    A screen adaptation of Chetan Bhagat‘s bestseller, 2 States is about a Punjabi boy who falls in love with a Tamil girl, which causes a regional-culture clash. Alia has been paired with Arjun Kapoor in the film. Seen in Hindi movies Love and Raat, Revathi is reportedly playing Alia‘s Tamilian mother.

     

    Revathi is quite happy and excited about the role. She will be seen in a prominent role in the movie and one schedule has already been shot.

     

    The 47-year-old had also directed critically acclaimed Hindi movie Phir Milenge with Shilpa Shetty, Salman Khan and Abhishek Bachchan in the lead roles.

     

    The film is being directed by Abhishek Verman and co-produced by Karan Johar and Sajid Nadiadwala under their respective banners Dharma Productions and Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment.

    The Tarun Mansukhani’s Dostana 2 will star John Abraham and Abhishek Bachchan. However, as per the earlier rumours, Katrina was to step into Priynaka Chopra’s shoes for the sequel. But DP’s successful run at the box-office this year has made her a hot favourite among directors and producers.

    NEW DELHI: Bol Bachchan, the Rohit Shetty directed film which surprised with its opening revenues, has now amassed Rs 54.3 million net box office on Wednesday, taking the worldwide gross box office number to Rs. 1.02 billion, according to an official release.

    The film has grossed Rs 884 million in India, the stement said.

    Presented by Fox Star Studios, the Shree Ashtavinayak Cinevision and Ajay Devgan Films’ produced film is shaping up to be Devgan-Shetty‘s biggest film ever.

    The film stars Ajay Devgan, Abhishek Bachchan, Asin and Prachi Desai in the lead roles.

    Remake of Umrao Jaan on the cards

    MUMBAI: Muzzafar Ali, who had produced and directed the Rekha-starrer 1981 film Umrao Jaan, is planning to make a sequel.

    For the upcoming film, Ali and writer Javed Siddiqui want Rekha to play a cameo. At the end of the original, Umrao Jaan (Rekha) is seen coming back to her kotha without it being shown what is going to happen to her in the English regime.

    “Here we have a story in which we have Umrao Jaan as an older and more mature person. But we don‘t know if this would happen or not,” wondered Siddiqui.

    Umrao Jaan, based on the Urdu novel Umrao Jaan Ada, is based on the life of famous Lucknow courtesan.

    Rekha‘s performance as the central character in the film had won her the first National Award.

    In 2006, J P Dutta had come out with the remake of Umrao Jaan with Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan in the lead roles. However, the film failed miserably at the box office.

    Dhulia to Indianise Shakespeare’s Hamlet

    MUMBAI: With his last film Paan Singh Tomar garnering both critical acclaim and audience response, Tigmanshu Dhulia will adapt William Shakespeare‘s tragic play Hamlet in Hindi.

    The project will be produced by Goldie Behl and his sister Shrishti Arya under the Rose Movies banner. Abhishek Bachchan has been tipped to play the title role.

    The project was first discussed with filmmaker Behl over a decade, when Dhulia was writing Behl’s film Bas Itna Sa Khwab Hai in 2001. That‘s when Dhulia suggested him a Hindi adaptation of the William Shakespeare play.

    “Tigmanshu and I go back a long way… We started our careers around the same time in Rose Movies. So it feels great that he‘s coming back home but this time as a director. We both are very passionate about adapting ‘Hamlet‘ as its the ultimate revenge drama,” observed Behl.

    The last movie released under the Rose Movies banner was London, Paris, New York.

    MUMBAI: Ashtavinayak Cinevision and Ajay Devgn‘s upcoming film Bol Bachchan is being readied to release on 6 July.

    Devgn chose to release the film in July considering the fact that the month has been extremely lucky for him in the past. His last release Singham hitcinemas last 22 July and turned out to be an instant hit and crossed the Rs 1-billion mark in its seventh week.

    The film, said to be inspired by Hrishikesh Mukherjee‘s 1979 film Gol Maal, stars Abhishek Bachchan, Asin, Archana Puran Singh, Prachi
    Desai, Krishna Abhishek and Ajay Devgn.

    Zanjeer scriptwriters demand royalty from producer for remake

    MUMBAI: Zanjeer scriptwriters Salim Khan and Javed Akhtar are demanding royalty for their script from producer Amit Mehra, late Prakash Mehra‘s son, who has expressed intent to remake the blockbuster.

    Last week, Mehra first met Khan followed by Akhtar. The writers told the producer that they would need a substantial sum of money if Mehra wanted to re-translate the Zanjeer script on celluloid.

    “Yes, I met both of them at their respective homes. I am taking their blessings,” Mehra said.

    When probed about the royalty the writers are demanding, he did not deny, adding, “I am meeting them again soon.”

    Indiantelevision.com had earlier reported that the two scriptwriters were miffed
    with Mehra for not taking them into confidence about his Zanjeer remake.

    Meanwhile, in a departure from the regular norm, director Apoorva Lakhia
    has sought the consent of the Bachchans before embarking on his project. He
    even went to the extent of offering Abhishek Bachchan the lead role, but he is said to have declined.

    With junior Bachchan refusing to play the role, Lakhia promptly approached Amitabh Bachchan to play a cameo in the film to which he agreed.
