    MUMBAI: The Red Lorry Film Festival is shifting into high gear, opening with the critically acclaimed September 5, a tense, true-to-life thriller directed by Tim Fehlbaum. Hosted by Bookmyshow, India’s premier international film festival will set the stage with this Academy Award-nominated film that dives into one of modern media’s most tension-filled moments, the 1972 Munich Olympics hostage crisis.

    MUMBAI: India’s Priyanka Chopra has made her competition eat humble pie once again by hopping on to the latest global Top female 10 TV actors list put out annually by Forbes.

    She placed eighth with a combined asset of USD 11 million in earnings from her ABC TV show Quantico and endorsements. She is preceded by Castle hitmaker Stana Katric who also debuted on the list this year.

    Looking at it comparatively, Chopra has already beaten Bollywood’s current hot favourite Deepika Padukone, who featured in Forbes list of top ten paid actresses at tenth place with USD 10 million dollars to her name.

    “New to the list is Priyanka Chopra, who stars on ABC’s Quantico. While Chopra may be relatively new to an American audience, she is one of the most famous faces in India. In the past year, she has starred in two Bollywood mega films (Bajirao Mastani and Jai Gangaajal) and will take her big-screen talent stateside later this year with one of the lead roles in Baywatch alongside Hollywood heavy-hitters including Dwayne Johnson, the world’s highest-paid actor,” read the magazine’s report.

    Forbes also spoke about Priyanka’s endorsement deals, “But like most television actresses (and actresses, in general), her millions are not made from screen time alone. Chopra is one of India’s top picks for advertisers, recently winning a seven-figure deal with sparkling juice brand Appy Fizz.”

    Priyanka is at currently shooting for Quantico season two, which will premiere in late September. The actress is also ready with her Hollywood debut Baywatch,in which she stars opposite Dwayne Johnson, who happens to be Forbes’ highest paid actor.

    Disney movies on demand reaches over 8 million viewers in EMEA

    MUMBAI: Disney Media Distribution EMEA revealed the figures for its branded on-demand service Disney movies on demand and the continued growth of ABC TV on demand and Disney channels on demand, this Mipcom.

    Since its launch at Mipcom in October 2012, Disney movies on demand, the family-friendly branded SVOD service, is now available on 12 live platforms in six EMEA territories. Disney movies on demand most recently launched on OSN in the Middle East and North Africa and Wuaki in the UK , reaching over eight million consumers across EMEA.

    The service gives customers access to a wide range of Disney’s classic animation and live-action hits including the classic animation ‘Jungle Book’, Disney Pixar’s ‘Monsters’ and ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’.

    Since its launch in 2010, ABC TV on demand has been launched on 26 platforms in 16 EMEA territories. In 2013 to date ABC TV on demand has had over 60 million views in EMEA. In 2012, ABC TV on demand launched in four new countries and on 11 new platforms, registering 33 per cent increase in reach and 80 per cent increase in total views.

    Disney channels on demand that offers popular Disney channel, Disney XD and Disney Junior series at the click of a button, is now available to 47 million Disney channel subscribers across EMEA on 55 live platforms, with further launches scheduled before the end of the year. The channel on demand has also enjoyed particular success in France, where it is now available to 4.7 million viewers with a 62 per cent uplift in viewers between July 2012 and July 2013.

    Disney/ABC TV Group launches Disney Channel photo finish app for iPad, iPhone, iPod touch

    MUMBAI: US media conglomerate Disney/ABC Television Group is launching the Disney Channel Photo Finish app on iPad, iPhone and iPod touch. Fans can now get creative and personalise their own pictures with their characters from ‘Phineas and Ferb‘, ‘Gravity Falls‘ ‘Shake It Up‘ and the Disney Channel Original Movie ‘Teen Beach Movie‘.

    The app is available now for free in the App Store at http://AppStore.com/DisneyChannelPhotoFinish.

    Using the photo app, fans can snap and stylise their pictures with show themed stickers, specialty frames and filters then share with family and friends. So whether fans want to dress up with Perry the Platypus‘ bill and Dippers hat, throw a beach party with the Surfers and Bikers of ‘Teen Beach Movie‘, or rock a photo shoot with Cece and Rocky, they are now only a few taps and swipes away from giving their pictures a custom Disney Channel Photo Finish.

    Premium sticker packs are available for 99 cents for each show. Soon to follow updates include Starring Role functionality that allows fans to insert their faces into some show scenes and characters, as well as ‘Watch and Unlock‘ sticker packs beginning with ‘Teen Beach Movie‘. ‘Watch and Unlock‘ will allow fans to sync the app with any encore viewing of ‘Teen Beach Movie‘ to unlock free bonus sticker packs such as ‘Bikers versus Surfers‘ and ‘Sing and Dance‘.

    Disney Channels Worldwide VP digital media Lauren DeVillier said, “Photo sharing is extremely popular with the Disney Channel fan base. Fans love taking photos and then applying different filters and photo finishing techniques to express their creativity. The Disney Channel Photo Finish app makes it possible for them to bring their favorite shows and characters into that experience and then share it with their friends.”

    Disney/ABC Television Group adds that in the past it has unveiled multiplatform services and apps. Watch Disney Channel, Watch Disney Junior and Watch Disney XD apps make full length episodes of shows available online and on iPhone, iPad and iPod touch.

    Verified pay TV customers can access live feeds of the networks, as well as access to first looks and sneak peeks. In addition to the Watch services, other apps include the Disney Junior Appisode app, which offers true interactive viewing, allowing kids ages 2-7 to touch, tap, swipe, tilt, shake and talk their way through various activities embedded into episodes of Disney Junior shows.
