    MUMBAI: In week 32 of Chrome Data Analytics and Media data, Hindi news and religious were the two top gainers with 0.53 per cent and 0.12 per cent respectively in HSM excluding less than 1 lakh markets

    OTS is the actual census-based percentage connectivity of a channel spread across 81 million homes, as reported by Chrome DM, across analogue cable, digital cable, and DTH.

    In Hindi news genre, ABP news gained highest OTS with 99 per cent in in HSM excluding less than 1 lakh markets. In religious genre, Aastha gained highest OTS with 95.9 per cent in HSM excluding less than 1 lakh markets.

    MUMBAI: With a growth of 8.13 per cent, the Hindi news genre marked the highest opportunity to see (OTS) among all categories in week 52 of Chrome Data Analytics & Media.

    In the Hindi news genre, India TV gained the highest OTS with 99.5 per cent in HSM excluding less than 1L-market.

    OTS is the actual census-based percentage connectivity of a channel spread across 81 million homes, as reported by Chrome DM, across analogue cable, digital cable and DTH. 

    The second position in the gainer’s list of OTS was grabbed by the religious genre with the growth of 7.71 per cent in HSM excluding less than 1L-market. Aastha was the most benefited channel in this category with 97.9 per cent.

    The third position in the gainers was garnered by the music genre in HSM excluding less than 1L-market with 6.76 per cent OTS. 9X Jalwa gained the highest OTS with 94.1 per cent.

    The Hindi movies genre was at the fourth position in the list with 6.71 per cent growth and Rishtey Cineplex catered to 95.2 per cent OTS in HSM excluding less than 1L-market.

    The youth genre was at the fifth position in the list with 4.33 per cent growth in HSM excluding less than 1L-market. Bindass gained the highest OTS with 92.7 per cent.

    MUMBAI: With a growth of 1.07 per cent, the kids genre in all India 1 lakh+, marked the highest opportunity to see (OTS) among all categories in week 46 of Chrome Data Analytics and Media. Discovery garnered the highest OTS in kids’ genre with 90.5 per cent.

    The Hindi news genre came in second in the gainers list of OTS with 0.85 per cent; DD News gained the highest OTS with 99.4 per cent growth in HSM excluding the less than 1L-market, followed by English news genre coming in third in the gainers list of OTS with 0.62 per cent in 6 metros market. Loksabha TV garnered the highest OTS in the English news genre with 98.3 per cent.

    The fourth position in the gainer’s list of OTS was grabbed by music in HSM excluding the less than 1L-market with 0.22 per cent. 9X Jalwa raked in the highest OTS in the music genre with 94.3 per cent. Religious genre stood at fifth position in HSM excluding the less than 1L-market with 0.04 per cent by Aastha gaining the highest OTS with 98.2 per cent.

    Zee Media gets permission for 4 regional news channels

    MUMBAI: After a long tenure of being strict in awarding channel licenses, the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MIB) has finally become lenient. In the month of September, eight new channels received licenses while none saw their licenses cancelled as on 30 September 2018.

    Out of the eight channels, four channels were of Zee Media Corporation Ltd (ZMCL). All the four permissions are for news channel named 1 Chennai (Tamil, English), 1 Mumbai (Marathi, English), 1 Kolkata (Bengali, English) and 1 Delhi (Hindi, English). The permission was given on 11 September 2018 for both uplinking and downlinking of the four channels.

    On the other hand, Disney Broadcasting India got the permissions for a non-news channel UTV HD (English) for both uplinking and downlinking on 14 September 2018.

    Vedic Broadcasting has got permission for launching three new channels named Aastha Tamil, Aastha Telugu and Aastha Kannada on 26 September 2018.

    The 14 licenses which were cancelled earlier by MIB due to security denial by Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) are still now under stay order from the court.

    After cancelling permission to 247 channels, the number of private satellite TV channels having valid permission in India stands at 869 as on 30 September 2018. 483 channels are non-news channels and the remaining 386 are news channels.

    Of the 868 permitted private satellite channels, TV channels permitted for uplinking from India and also to downlink into India are 769 among which 365 are news channels and 404 are non-news channels. 11 non-news channels and five news channels are permitted for uplinking from India but not downlink into the country. 84 TV channels are uplinked from abroad which only have downlinking permission in India. This category includes 15 news and 69 non-news channels.

    MUMBAI: The music genre in Hindi-speaking market (HSM) led the pack with a growth of 0.4 per cent with Sony Mix at the top of the chart with 90.8 per cent opportunity to see (OTS) in week 40 reported by Chrome Data Analytics and Media. Second on the list is the religious HSM, which witnessed 0.2 per cent growth. Aastha bagged the pole position in the section with 98.6 per cent OTS.

    Amongst the losers this week were — sports, English movies, kids and Hindi news genres. The sports section across India witnessed a drop of 2.4 per cent with DD sports securing the first position with 90.9 per cent OTS. English movies in six metros dropped by 2.1 per cent with Movies Now securing the top slot with 49.1 per cent OTS.

    The kids genre across India dropped by 1.2 per cent. Cartoon Network with 81.3 emerged as the most affected channel in the genre. This was followed by the Hindi news genre, which saw a fall of 0.8 per cent and bagged the fourth berth with India TV leading the tally with 98.3 OTS.

    MUMBAI: The business news and English movies genres were the only two losers in Chrome’s opportunity to see (OTS) analysis in six metros in week 36. The business news genre witnessed a drop of 1.2 per cent and CNBC Awaaz bagged the first spot in the genre with 83.0 per cent OTS.

    Next in the list was the English movie segment that dropped by 1.0 per cent with Movies Now as the most affected category with 46.7. English news, religious infotainment and sports genres were among the gainers of week 36.

    English news genre led the pack in the six metros with a growth of 1.6 per cent with Loksabha TV at the top of the chart with 92.6 per cent OTS. Second on the list is the religious genre in Hindi-speaking market (HSM), which witnessed 0.7 per cent growth. Aastha bagged the pole position in the section with 97.7 per cent OTS.

    Infotainment genre secured the third berth across India with 0.5 per cent OTS with History TV18 leading the genre with 86.1 per cent OTS.

    Sports genre across India grabbed the fourth position with 0.5 per cent, with DD sports topping the list with 88.7 per cent OTS.

    Next in the list was the English movie segment that dropped by 1.0 per cent with Movies Now as the most affected category with 46.7. English news, religious infotainment and sports genres were among the gainers of week 36.

    English news genre led the pack in the six metros with a growth of 1.6 per cent with Loksabha TV at the top of the chart with 92.6 per cent OTS.     MUMBAI: With a marked increase of 2 per cent, the music genre emerged as the top gainer in Chrome’s Opportunity to See (OTS) analysis for the Hindi speaking market (HSM).

    9XM emerged as the most benefited channel with 89.9 percent OTS in week 33.  

    With the Olympic fever on, the sports genre showed an increase of 1.3 per cent across India with DD Sports leading the genre with 89.4 per cent OTS.  

    Youth in the HSM booked the third spot in the list of top gainers with a 0.7 per cent increase in OTS. Channel V led the tally with 88.7 per cent OTS.

    Doordarshan’s DD News was the chart topper with 97.4 per cent OTS as Hindi News in HSM observed a growth of 0.7 per cent.

    The business news genre in six metros showed a drop of 0.9 per cent and was among the losers with CNBC Awaaz scoring 82.6 per cent OTS.

    Aastha emerged as the most affected channel with 97.7 per cent OTS even as the religious genre saw a drop of 0.4 per cent.

    9XM emerged as the most benefited channel with 89.9 percent OTS in week 33.
