    This Diwali, Big Magic & 92.7 Big FM presents ‘Ji Sirji’

    MUMBAI: Big Magic poised to be the ultimate comedy destination from Reliance Broadcast Network Limited, launches yet another innovative concept from its bouquet of differentiated content titled Ji Sirji.

     

    In line with its integrated programming strategy, this is the fifth successive show being launched by the network, which will air from November 11th, every Wednesday, Thursday at 10 PM on Big Magic and Wednesday, Thursday at 9 PM on 92.7 Big FM.

     

    Versatile actor Anup Soni will be seen taking the audiences on a hilarious ride, as he would bring forth day to day shenanigans in a professional work set-up, focusing on the relationship between bosses and their subordinates in the form of funny sketches. The show will also witness various actors playing roles of subordinates, who are usually at the receiving end of the whims and fancies of their respective bosses. One of the popular names playing a subordinate on the show is actor Gaurav Sharma, who is known for his character of Pappu from Total Nadaniyaan.

     

    Talking about the new integrated offering, Big Magic creative director Bimal Unnikrishnan said, “Our current programming strategy revolves around conceptualizing content that resonates easily with our target audience, with a high degree of humor and entertainment. The relationship between a boss and his subordinate is an interesting, relatable theme.

     

    Ji Sirji will bring forth this very relationship in an unconventional style, with funny, topical sketches, one that hasn’t been seen before by the audience. Moreover, with our integrated approach, we are widening our reach by tapping viewers and listeners on both our mediums of dominance.”

     

    Each episode of Ji Sirji will see multiple sketches, each focusing on a profession, various types of bosses and their behavior. Anup Soni will be seen playing a boss who has an OCD issue to being unreasonable, sadist, foolish, insecure and many more. Moreover, he will portray bosses across professions, switching between a corporate executive, government babu and even a truck driver!

     

    Big Magic is available across all DTH players such as Tata Sky, Airtel, Videocon, Dish TV, Reliance Digital TV along with all cable operators as Hathway, Incable, Digicable, DEN, 7 Star, ABS, Siticable, Star Broadband and GTPL amongst others.

    MUMBAI: After launching an integrated satirical comedy show called Fakebook with TV actress Kavita Kaushik, Reliance Broadcast Network’s entertainment channel Big Magic and 92.7 Big FM will be launching yet another integrated series.

     

    The series called Comedy Ka Rocket will be presented in a completely fresh, upbeat and contemporary avatar; designed for viewers to embrace the weekend with variety comedy entertainment.

     

    The first few episodes of Comedy Ka Rocket will be around Dussehra (23rdOctober), Indian weddings (30th October) and Diwali (6th November) on BIG Magic at 9 pm and every Sunday at 12 pm on 92.7 BIG FM.

     

    Sharing some insights on the new series, Big Magic creative director Bimal Unnikrishnan said,”In sync with our viewers preferences and new programming strategy, we have conceptualised Comedy Ka Rocket, a series which will appear every Friday with optimal comedic content and an amalgamation of all genres of comedy. We are aiming to take entertainment a notch higher, with new innovations in content designing and programming. We are sure our viewers will enjoy the show and will see this as one of the best ways to embrace the weekend.”

     

    The show will have three hosts namely Karan Tacker, Vishal Singh and Gaurav Khanna, who will take audiences on a rib-tickling riot. They will be joined by different celebrities every week, adding to the fun quotient.

     

    Big Magic will celebrate the festive season through a #FullOnLoL feast of sketches, spoofs, song parodies, mimicry, candid content, stand-up acts, dances, fun interactions with celebrities and lots more. The Dussehra special episode Bollywood Ke Villain will features popular villain Shakti Kapoor as a special guest. 

     

    Taking a cue from the essence of this festival, villains will take centre stage this time round instead of the heroes. They will be celebrated and their importance in the life of a hero will be showcased in full splendour.

     

    Celebrating the Wedding season, Sana Kapoor of Shaandaar fame will be seen as the celeb walk-in and the event will focus on the madness that surrounds a bollywood themed Indian wedding. The audience will witness a glimpse of the hilariously chaotic moments that leads up to a Big Fat Indian wedding. Celebrating Diwali with Bollywood Ke Patakhe, Sana Saeed and Natasa Stankovic will enthral audiences with their dance performances.

    MUMBAI: 92.7 BIG FM’s BIG Green Ganesha, in its eighth year garnered support from the Chief Minister of Maharashtra,  Devendra Fadavnis, Environment Minister  RamdasKadam, Environmnet Minister for state Praveen Pote,  Upper Chief Secretary of Environment Department Malini Shankar and  Member Secretary of Maharashtra Pollution Control Board P. Anbagalan who donated newspapers for the cause.

    In a press conference held to flag of the eco-friendly initiative, the government dignitaries shed light on the importance of ecological practices during the festival of Ganesh Chaturthi.

    This year, the eco-friendly drive was even bigger as Kapil Sharma one of the popular comedian and Bollywood actor, was the face of the property. The radio station also saw increased support from people and celebrities like Asha Bhosle, Imran Khan, Kangna Ranawat, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Kanika Kapoor, Ayushman Khurana, Sadhna Sargam, Anup Jalota and Rekha Bhardwaj among others who pledged their support by donating newspapers to create eco-friendly Ganesha idols to promote the noble cause.

    MUMBAI: If you are a Hindi movie buff and can’t stop yourself from humming the songs from industry’s golden era of music, chances are 90 per cent of them are by R D Burman, who is fondly remembered as Pancham Da. His life was all about tunes, melodies and to celebrate this passion and dedication towards the art, 92.7 Big FM has announced a unique on air concert titled Yadon mein Pancham from 22 June to 27 June at 7 pm.

     

    The program will feature a vast repertoire of evergreen classics that will be a treat for all Pancham Da fans of the radio station.

     

    What’s more, to liven up your stereos will be singing sensations Akriti Kakkar, Kanika Kapoor, Tochi Raina, Benny Dayal and Abhinanda Sarkar, paying tribute to the maestro with their own renditions of his  songs. Some of these include Dum Maaro Dum, Humein Tumse Pyaar Kitna, O Haseena Zulfon Wali, Rimjhim Gire Saawan, Piya Tu Ab Toh Aaja, Chura Liya Hain Tumneamongst others.

     

    Expressing her excitement on being part of the show popular singer Tochi Raina stated, “Pancham Da’s talent remains unmatched even today. I loved his style of music. He belonged to Tripura where there were a lot of jungles and any kind of sound fascinated him; that fascinates me because I believe that it explains his love for music and his desire to creating newer music.     92.7 Big FM ranks as the most trusted media-radio brand

    MUMBAI: 92.7 Big FM has ranked as the most trusted brand in the radio category in the recently Brand Trust Report 2-15. 

     

    The brand has taken the top-most trusted slot in India, maintaining a lead of 14 ranks over the next brand. This is the first time that a FM Radio brand has made it to the list.

     

    Only two radio brands could make it to the list where 92.7 Big FM took the top slot. Other players did not make it to the report.

     

    Commenting about the achievement, Reliance Broadcast Network CEO Tarun Katial said that this is the first time that a radio brand has made it to the list, which means that radio as a platform, a product and a service is getting its due share and recognition now.

     

    “We are humbled by the honour. This will only give us the impetus to do better to enjoy the trust of our listeners and stakeholders,” he added. 

     

    According to 92.7 Big FM business head Ashwin Padmanabhan this award only reiterates that it has understood the pulse of both its consumer and customer. “We take this opportunity to thank all our stakeholders for trusting us. We will continue to offer pioneering initiatives that positively impact the society,” he said. 

     

    This year’s study involved 15,000 hours of fieldwork covering consumer-influencers across 16 cities in India and generated three million data points and 20,000 unique brands from which the top 1000 brands have been listed.

    MUMBAI: Reliance Broadcast Network Ltd (RBNL) has appointed actor, writer, director, television and theatre personality Paritosh Painter as its network creative director.

     

    In his new role, Painter will be looking into all the overall creative conceptualization and creation of differentiated content at Reliance Broadcast TV and radio business – Big Magic & 92.7 BIGFM. He will report to RBNL CEO Tarun Katial.

     

    Katial said, “Paritosh and Big have been associated with each other for years since he has been a creative mastermind behind some of our iconic shows as Har Mushkil Ka Hal Akbar Birbal. I believe that Paritosh is one of the astute creative minds of today who has clear roadmap in evolving a character or a relationship with his unique story-telling.”

His repertoire also includes stand-up comedy, content development and producing shows on television.

    The Swach Abhiyan launch took place near Goa Media College, Bambolim, Goa with over 200 people joining in to support the initiative among whom there were 100 NSS students and around 50 NCC cadets. Moreover, staff members of 92.7 BIG FM came in full swing to support the cleanliness drive so as to help maintain the exquisiteness and beauty of the state of Goa.     MUMBAI: 92.7 Big FM has announced the elevation of Jay Mehta as station head, Mumbai. Mehta joined 92.7 Big FM in August 2014 in the position of sales head – Mumbai and has been an ace performer, steadily growing revenues for the station. In his role as station head, Mehta’s primary responsibility will be to manage the P&L of the station, ensuring profitability as the station continues to deliver excellent value to listeners and advertisers alike.

     

    Mehta will report to 92.7 Big FM business head Ashwin Padmanabhan.

     

    Mehta carries with him over a decade’s work experience, with companies like Uninor, Idea Cellular, Bharti Airtel and Reliance Communications. His key strengths include innovations, strategy formulation and execution, brand launches, brand associations, and sales and distribution. He has to his credit, been a key part of the launch team of two telecom giants in India – Uninor and Idea Cellular and has been instrumental in seeding the brands during its initial periods.
