The MotoGP continues its rendezvous this weekend with France at the legendary Bugatti circuit of Le Mans, which holds the notorious reputation for hard braking. A 24-hour circuit, it is located towards the south-west of Paris and has played host to fans from across central and northern Europe. Since the late 1960s, Le Mans has hosted six Grand Prix races but after Spanish rider Alberto Puig’s serious accident in 1995, the venue was shifted until stringent safety improvements were implemented.

Today, Le Mans is a tight track dominated by first gear corners that place emphasis on late braking and hard acceleration, whilst rear end traction is also a key area.

The recently held Shanghai MotoGP proved to be tough for the Fortuna Honda participants. However, riders like Marco Melandri, Tony Elias and others in the team are anticipating positive results at Le Mans despite the fact that it is not one of the most technical circuits in the world.

The riders will race on the 4.1 km long Bugatti circuit which shares a part of the front straight with the historic 24 hour track. It also includes the fastest first corner in the world where riders will go through at speeds in excess of 290km/hr.
