MUMBAI: Eros International, in association with Evernew Group and HKC Entertainment, has released BR Films’ Bhootnath in Pakistan simultaneously with its global release.
This is the first ever Bollywood film to be passed for a release in its un-cut version by the Pakistan censor board. The movie is distributed across all major cities like Lahore, Karachi, Rawalpindi, Multan, Faisalabad, Gujaranwala and Hyderabad.
Evernew group chairman and CEO Sajjad Gul said, “Bollywood films have always had a big market in Pakistan. Pakistanis are absolutely ecstatic to have Amitabh Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan on big screen in Pakistan.”
Eros International president-distribution Pranab Kapadia said, “Market for Bollywood films in Pakistan has huge potential. Bhootnath is the ideal film for our launch as it stars Amitabh Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan, who have a great fan following in the neighbouring country.
Bhootnath is the first among many in our release pipeline and we look forward to working with Evernew Group and HKC Entertainment to release more films in Pakistan.”
This is the first time that an Amitabh Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan-starrer movie has been released in Pakistan.
