MUMBAI: Star Gold will treat its viewers with one more fanatical family drama Hulchul, by Priyadarshan. The channel will premiere the movie on 23 October at 1.00 pm.
To promote the premiere, the channel has unleashed a promotional tool in ‘Haysa Kavita’. Ahsaan Qureshi, who was one of the finalist of The Great Indian Laughter Challenge has recorded the Hulchul promos. The idea was that Hulchul being a laugh riot and the biggest comedy of the year for 2004, the promos were to have the Hasya Kavita feel and make it appeal to the masses.
Star TV EVP Ajay Vidyasagar said, “Star Gold is committed to bring TV viewers the best that Hindi cinema has to offer. Priyadarshan’s movies reflect qualitative craft. Hulchul is a complete entertainer and we hope that our audiences will enjoy this Pure Gold premiere film thoroughly”.
A remake of the Malayalam hit Godfather, Priyadarshan follows two schools of film-making in Hulchul. The first is the South formula that brings to your memory the family entertainers that were churned out with amazing regularity in the 1980s. And the second school is the one invented by the accomplished director himself, where logic takes a complete backseat and all that matters is providing non-stop entertainment, states an official release.
