Skoda Kylaq- The Best SUV in India in the Compact Segment

Published

on

The compact SUV segment in India is brimming with SUVs. However, every few years, a new model launches that actually changes the game. It feels fresh, well-priced and brings something new to the table. The Skoda Kylaq is one such compact SUV that delivers really well on many counts. In fact, its performance pretty much revives the affordable German-engineered fun-to-drive legacy of the now-defunct VW Polo. Furthermore, the Kylaq fits the needs of modern Indian buyers. Many experts already feel the Skoda Kylaq can become the best SUV in India in the compact category. Here’s a detailed look at why the Kylaq impresses everyone so much.

Skoda Kylaq Price & Positioning

The Skoda Kylaq price has been positioned very intelligently. It starts at a point where many young buyers, first-time car owners, and small families can consider it. At the same time, the upper variants offer advanced features that appeal to buyers who want more comfort and convenience.

Even the lower trims feel properly equipped. You don’t get the feeling that important features have been cut just to keep the Skoda Kylaq price low. Instead, Skoda has tried to maintain a balance between practicality and premium appeal. Because of this approach, Kylaq easily becomes one of the strongest choices for anyone searching for the best SUV in India without jumping into higher and more expensive segments.

The pricing also helps the Kylaq compete with popular compact SUVs that usually dominate the market. But since this is a Skoda product, you naturally expect better build quality and European-style engineering. This makes the value equation even stronger.

 Skoda Kylaq Interior & Practicality

One of the biggest highlights of the Skoda Kylaq is its cabin. From the outside, it looks like a well-proportioned compact SUV, but the moment you step inside, you realise how cleverly Skoda has used the space.

The seats are comfortable even for longer drives, and the overall interior layout is clean and easy to understand. Unlike some cars in this segment, where the cabin looks cluttered, the Kylaq follows a very neat design language.

The infotainment system, steering controls, and dashboard layout feel modern but not confusing. Students, office-goers, families — everyone finds it easy to use. The boot space is also impressive for a compact SUV. It can take groceries, luggage, or even weekend trip bags without any stress.

What stands out most is how practical the cabin feels. Storage areas are well thought out, the rear seat space is good for adults, and the overall ergonomics make everyday driving comfortable. This smart approach to cabin design is another reason people feel the Kylaq deserves the title of the best SUV in India for buyers who want both comfort and city-friendly size.

Skoda Kylaq Features & Safety

Many compact SUVs offer features just for marketing. However, the Skoda Kylaq provides features that actually matter in daily life. Ventilated seats, a strong air-conditioning system, a clear infotainment interface, high-quality materials, and good sound insulation all add up to a pleasant driving environment.

Safety is another area where the Kylaq does not compromise. Features like multiple airbags, electronic stability control, ISOFIX child seat mounts, traction aids, and solid braking support give you confidence even at higher speeds.

Knowing that your car is safe plays a huge role in the buying decision. This is especially important in India, where real-world conditions can be unpredictable. The Kylaq’s safety package works strongly in its favour, making it easier for buyers to trust it as the best SUV in India for family use in this segment.

Skoda Kylaq Performance & Driving Feel

One of the reasons people have always appreciated Skoda cars is their driving experience. The Skoda Kylaq continues that tradition even though it sits in the compact SUV segment.

The engine feels responsive, especially in traffic, and the gearbox options are smooth and easy to get used to. The suspension is tuned to handle potholes and uneven roads comfortably, without making the car feel too soft or unstable.

In cities, the compact dimensions make it easy to park and manoeuvre. On highways, the stability and solid build give you confidence at cruising speeds. So whether you are a college student driving daily to classes, someone commuting to the office, or a small family planning road trips, the Kylaq adapts well. This balance of comfort and control is another major reason many people consider the Kylaq among the best SUVs in India in its category.

Practicality

Many compact SUVs look good on paper but don’t feel as convenient in everyday use. The Skoda Kylaq is the opposite. It is designed around real-life needs.

* Easy to drive in traffic

* Good visibility for the driver

* Enough space for passengers

* Strong AC performance for summer

* A boot that actually fits luggage

* A cabin layout that feels premium but simple

This combination is hard to find in many cars today. And this real-world practicality is what makes the Kylaq feel like a reliable companion, whether you use it daily or only occasionally.

Why Kylaq Deserves the “Best SUV in India” Tag?

When you look at the price, features, safety, interior quality, performance, and practicality, the Skoda Kylaq clearly offers more than what most compact SUVs promise. It doesn’t feel like a stripped-down small SUV, nor does it pretend to be something it’s not.

It simply delivers what Indian buyers want:

* an affordable European SUV,

* strong build quality,

* good space,

* useful features,

* safe driving experience,

* and comfort for everyday use.

This honest and balanced approach is why the Skoda Kylaq genuinely feels like the best SUV in India in the compact segment for today’s buyers.

Conclusion

The Skoda Kylaq is one of those rare compact SUVs that combines practicality and a premium feel without pushing the price too high. It fits perfectly into city life while still offering the comfort and performance needed for longer drives.

With its balanced pricing, well-designed interior, solid safety features, and dependable performance, the Kylaq easily makes a strong claim as the best SUV in India within its segment. If you want a compact SUV that feels smart, modern, and genuinely well-built, the Skoda Kylaq should definitely be on your list.

Delhivery chairman Deepak Kapoor, independent director Saugata Gupta quit board

Published

on

Gurugram: Delhivery’s boardroom is being reset. Deepak Kapoor, chairman and independent director, has resigned with effect from April 1 as part of a planned board reconstitution, the logistics company said in an exchange filing. Saugata Gupta, managing director and chief executive of FMCG major Marico and an independent director on Delhivery’s board, has also stepped down.

Kapoor exits after an eight-year stint that included steering the company through its 2022 stock-market debut, a period that saw Delhivery transform from a venture-backed upstart into one of India’s most visible logistics platforms. Gupta, who joined the board in 2021, departs alongside him, marking a simultaneous clearing of two senior independent seats.

“Deepak and Saugata have been instrumental in our process of recognising the need for and enabling the reconstitution of the board of directors in line with our ambitious next phase of growth,” said Sahil Barua, managing director and chief executive, Delhivery. The statement frames the exits less as departures and more as deliberate succession, a boardroom shuffle timed to the company’s evolving scale and strategy.

The resignations arrive amid broader governance recalibration. In 2025, Delhivery appointed Emcure Pharmaceuticals whole-time director Namita Thapar, PB Fintech founder and chairman Yashish Dahiya, and IIM Bangalore faculty member Padmini Srinivasan as independent directors, signalling a tilt towards consumer, fintech and academic expertise at the board level.

Kapoor’s tenure spanned Delhivery’s most defining years, rapid network expansion, public listing and the push towards profitability in a bruising logistics market. Gupta’s presence brought FMCG and brand-scale perspective during a period when ecommerce volumes and last-mile delivery economics were being rewritten.

The twin exits, effective from the new financial year, underscore a familiar corporate rhythm: founders consolidate, veterans rotate out, and fresh voices are ushered in to script the next chapter. In India’s hyper-competitive logistics race, even the boardroom does not stand still.

The company has launched across the UK, Germany, France and Spain, with plans to expand into Italy, the Netherlands and Poland over the next year. The push is being led by its haircare and aromatherapy brands, Botanic Hearth and Majestic Pure, marking Brnd.me’s first structured expansion into Europe.
