But her determination to undergo treatment despite financial challenges turned out to be fruitful. Kajal crowdfunded INR 35.8 lakhs on Impact Guru. Having been discharged from the hospital, she continues to undergo medications at home, all the while continuing to look after her son.
28 y/o Shabana, a mother of two, felt helpless when the doctors informed her about the need to undergo a bone marrow transplant after being diagnosed with blood cancer. Though penniless, Shabana did not give up. The dream of seeing her children grow and succeed in life inspired her to fight for her cause. After launching a fundraiser on Impact Guru, donors came together to raise over Rs 13.5 Lakh, ensuring Shabana underwent the bone marrow transplant procedure.
Dharmwati, a single mother from Haryana with no money was faced with the task of raising funds for her daughter Sonia, suffering from congenital heart disease. With the support of the generous donor community, about Rs 2.4 Lakh was raised to ensure that Sonia was able to undergo successful open heart surgery.
Geetanjali, a young mother faced the biggest ordeal of her life when her only daughter passed away. She was soon diagnosed with a kidney ailment. Further diagnosis hinted at an urgent kidney transplant, which would cost about Rs 12 Lakh. By leveraging the generosity of the donor community, Geetanjali was able to raise approximately Rs 11 Lakh and underwent kidney transplantation. Geetanjali has been discharged from the hospital and is slowly on the path to complete recovery.
