Best Lightweight Sunscreens for Daily Use in India

Published

on

Sun protection cannot be taken for granted in India, where UV exposure is always high due to rising temperatures, humidity and pollution. These factors easily affect your skin. The only way to protect your skin from them is by using sunscreen. But some of them can feel heavy or greasy, making it inconvenient to use.

Modern skincare addresses this problem with a lightweight formula that provides high sun protection without clogging pores or affecting your makeup.

If you are searching for the best selling sunscreen in India to use every day, this guide covers the best lightweight formulas that will not leave you greasy.

Why Lightweight Sunscreens Are Essential for Daily Use in India

India’s climate brings together three major factors that affect your skin.

What SPF Is Best for Daily Use and How Often Should I Reapply Sunscreen?

SPF 50–70 is ideal for Indian skin and climate

Daily sun exposure is often underestimated because it does not account for exposure during commuting, window light, or walking outdoors. They all expose your skin to UVA and UVB rays. Dermatologists in India also recommend wearing SPF 50 every day, regardless of the season.

Factors affecting SPF choice

●    High-sun-exposure jobs require SPF 50–70.
●    Mostly indoors means SPF 30–50 is a safe choice.
●    Hyperpigmentation, melasma, and tan-prone skin require SPF 50 at all times.

How Often Should You Reapply?

●    Reapply every 2–3 hours.
●    Reapply after swimming or sweating immediately.

Sunscreen breaks down on the skin due to sweat, oil, rubbing, and light exposure, even with high SPF.

Why Reapplication Matters?

UV filters degrade slowly, so if your skin feels dry, the protection has likely worn off. Therefore, reapplying the sunscreen is essential.

●    Consistent UV coverage.
●    Better tan control.
●    Protection against pigmentation and photo-ageing.

Additional Tips for Using Lightweight Sunscreens

To get maximum protection from any sunscreen, follow the tips mentioned below.

●    Apply enough product

Use the 2-finger rule when applying sunscreen to your face and neck.

●    Let it absorb fully

Wait 60 seconds before applying anything else on the skin.

●    Reapply often

Every 2–3 hours outdoors.

●    Use it even indoors

UVA passes through windows, causing tanning and pigmentation.

●    Pair with antioxidants

Vitamin C serums increase the efficacy of sunscreen.

Conclusion

So, which sunscreen is best for daily use? Choosing a breathable sunscreen formula allows you to enjoy sun protection, whether your skin is oily, normal, acne-prone, or combination. They do not feel heavy or sticky, unlike the traditional sunscreens.

This list brings together the best lightweight sunscreens for daily use in India, from glowy lotions to matte gels. They all offer SPF 50 protection and a finish to suit your everyday routines.

Delhivery chairman Deepak Kapoor, independent director Saugata Gupta quit board

Published

on

Gurugram: Delhivery’s boardroom is being reset. Deepak Kapoor, chairman and independent director, has resigned with effect from April 1 as part of a planned board reconstitution, the logistics company said in an exchange filing. Saugata Gupta, managing director and chief executive of FMCG major Marico and an independent director on Delhivery’s board, has also stepped down.

Kapoor exits after an eight-year stint that included steering the company through its 2022 stock-market debut, a period that saw Delhivery transform from a venture-backed upstart into one of India’s most visible logistics platforms. Gupta, who joined the board in 2021, departs alongside him, marking a simultaneous clearing of two senior independent seats.

“Deepak and Saugata have been instrumental in our process of recognising the need for and enabling the reconstitution of the board of directors in line with our ambitious next phase of growth,” said Sahil Barua, managing director and chief executive, Delhivery. The statement frames the exits less as departures and more as deliberate succession, a boardroom shuffle timed to the company’s evolving scale and strategy.

The resignations arrive amid broader governance recalibration. In 2025, Delhivery appointed Emcure Pharmaceuticals whole-time director Namita Thapar, PB Fintech founder and chairman Yashish Dahiya, and IIM Bangalore faculty member Padmini Srinivasan as independent directors, signalling a tilt towards consumer, fintech and academic expertise at the board level.

Kapoor’s tenure spanned Delhivery’s most defining years, rapid network expansion, public listing and the push towards profitability in a bruising logistics market. Gupta’s presence brought FMCG and brand-scale perspective during a period when ecommerce volumes and last-mile delivery economics were being rewritten.

The twin exits, effective from the new financial year, underscore a familiar corporate rhythm: founders consolidate, veterans rotate out, and fresh voices are ushered in to script the next chapter. In India’s hyper-competitive logistics race, even the boardroom does not stand still.
