  • Yahoo! India, Naukri.com join hands for Yahoo! India Careers

    MUMBAI: Yahoo! India and naukri.com have entered into a strategic alliance to re-launch Yahoo! India Careers.

    The section powered by naukri.com is aimed at leveraging the strengths and expertise of the job site Naukri.com and the internet communications and media company Yahoo! India.
     
     

    The section will provide an opportunity for companies to reduce costs towards recruitment, access relevant profile information whilst offering jobseekers multiple services to improve their chances of seeking employment through online career portals, says a company release.

    Announcing the alliance, Yahoo India country head Neville Taraporewalla said, “The Indian community is a large community on the Yahoo Network. As part of our various alliances with No1 verticals in the country it makes immense sense for Naukri.com to be our preferred partner to power our careers channel. Having a large user base, Yahoo customers can now access the largest database of jobs available in the market through this strategic alliance besides posting resumes online. Together with Naukri.com we believe that we can sweep the market and offer value to our customers in the career space.”

    Meanwhile, naukri.com, CEO Sanjeev Bikhchandani offered, “Through this tie up with Yahoo! India, we hope to reach out to over 30 + million Indian registered users of Yahoo! India and on the Yahoo! Network. In addition, while naukri.com has the greatest reach in terms of visitors amongst all job sites in India put together, the tie up should widen the gap within competitors and cement our position in the e-recruitment space. We should also be able to buttress the response we deliver our clients through this tie up”

    According to the Yahoo! India, the section Yahoo! India Careers has already received a record number of hits and high interest from Yahoo! visitors. CV registrations at naukri.com have significantly increased.

    It has been designed with the objective of offering a superior user experience to visitors. The careers channel will offer a wide choice of opportunities to working professionals to search or browse for relevant jobs and also avail host of value added services offered by naukri.com, adds the release.

  • Yahoo! India, ESS tie up for SMS based interactivity

    MUMBAI: Short Message Service (SMS) is getting bigger and bigger by each passing day. The latest is that ESPN Star Sports (ESS) and Yahoo! India have announced a strategic partnership for cross-media SMS interactivity and promotion across the channel starting with the IndianOil Asia Cup on 16 July.
     
     

    Considering the large usage of SMS based contests for various sports properties owned by ESS, this tie-up will add substantial value to all mobile subscribers and will provide a reason for them to SMS to the Yahoo! short code 8243.

    ESS has exclusive telecast rights for the Indian Oil Asia Cup, which is starting from 16 July in Sri Lanka. Besides the big three India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka, teams from UAE, Hong Kong and Bangladesh will fight for the Asian crown.
     
     

    Building on synergies of ESS’ quality coverage and content and Yahoo! India’s multifunction SMS architecture, the service will provide real-time, interactive coverage through Indian Oil Asia Cup.   • Yahoo! India to present the Effie Awards

    MUMBAI: Yahoo! India will be completing a hat trick of sorts by presenting the Effie Awards for the third successive year in India, which is scheduled to take place on 18 October.
     
     
    The Effie Awards for advertising effectiveness for the year 2004 will be announced at the Hotel Taj Lands End in Mumbai. The award are organised by The Advertising Club of Bombay. The Effie trophies will be presented not only to the agencies but also to the clients, informs an official release.
     
     
    To add to the excitement of this year’s Effie Awards, the ‘Popular Vote Award’ will enable the audience at the venue to select his/her favorite case study presentation via SMS. The on the spot ‘Popular Vote Award’ is a unique initiative that empowers the spectators, will be powered by Yahoo! India Mobile through its short code 8243.
