  • Zee Zest unlimit awards- The pursuit of excellence

    Mumbai: Zee Zest unlimit awards was a grand evening that celebrated and honoured the stalwarts from cuisine, beverages & nightlife, luxury hotels and resorts, and individuals in the food and travel space. The first edition of the ZEE ZEST UNLIMIT AWARDS Presented by L’Oreal Paris– New (Hyaluron) Moisture was hosted at ITC Grand Central, Mumbai on 21 March, 2023. The event was graced by celebrities like Nimrat Kaur, Maniesh Paul, Jaaved Jaffrey, Mrunal Thakur, Addinath Kothare, to name a few.

    There were multiple awards in each category and several nominations were shortlisted from across the country. The winners were picked by a rigorous process of jury selection and public voting.

    The cuisine category saw eight awards. Yum Yum Cha, New Delhi, serving traditional and authentic Pan Asian Bistro won the award for the Best Pan-Asian Restaurant. Izumi in Goa, known for its scrumptious Japanese style rice bowls and ramen bagged the Best Japanese Restaurant award. Botticino that serves hearty Italian flavors within the abode of contemporary and refined ambience located in Trident, Mumbai was honoured as the Best Italian Restaurant. The Craftery by Subko, Mumbai that pulls the visitors with its aromatic coffee flavors was crowned as the Best Café. The Black Forest Berliner and Classic Chocolate Slice that are winning the hearts of the visitors at the Padaria Prazeres, Goa, listed its name for being the Best Bakery in the country. The Avartana based in ITC Grand Chola, Chennai that specializes in serving delectable dishes like Fried Squid and Cauliflower Crunch was awarded the Best Progressive Indian Restaurant. Cavatina, Goa that is renowned for dressing its dishes uniquely won the Best Regional Restaurant. Serving organic, vegan, gluten free and refined sugar-free dishes Yogisattva Mumbai made its name for being the Best Vegan Restaurant.

    The second category of Beverages and Nightlife had five awards and a stiff competition. Carving a luxurious space while maintaining the leisurely vibe with soulful ambience and inventive cocktails Raeeth, Goa won the award for Best Nightclub. Headed by renowned mycologist and author, Yangdup Lama, the Sidecar in New Delhi took home the award for the Best Cocktail Bar. The Sula Rasa Cabernet Sauvignon that is packed with aromatic dark fruits and berries with elegant and complex structure won the Best Indian Wine award. The Jaisalmer that has the hint of liquorice, angelica and cubeb pepper in it listed its name for being the Best Indian Craft Gin. The Best Craft Beer award was honoured to White Rhino Brewing that was founded in 2016. 

    The Travel category had four awards: Oberoi group’s popular luxury resort Udaivilas was crowned as the Best Luxury Resort. ITC Grand Chola of Chennai bagged the award for being the Best Luxury Hotel. The Barefoot at Havelock in Andaman Islands listed its name among the Best Sustainable Resort. The Six Senses Vana of Dehradun that offers a wide range of therapeutic experiences like Yoga, Ayurveda, Tibetan Medicine, and Natural Healing Therapies to its visitors named itself for being the Best Wellness Retreat.

    The final category awarded the Individual achievers. Avinash Martins, a celebrity chef and founder of Cavatina, Goa won the Chef of the Year award. The Sacred Foods of India is a tribute to India’s culture and heritage by the celebrity and award-winning Chef Vikas Khanna that won the Book of the Year award. Known for her innovative Hustle Bomb and Bloody Mary Foam drinks, Mixologist Aashie Bhatnagar, of Cobbler & Crew, Goa bagged the award for being the Mixologist of The Year. Rohit Khattar, the founder of Old World Hospitality Ltd. won the Zee Zest Unlimit Icon of the Year award. Uma Raghuraman, a passionate celebrity chef and blogger, was honoured with the Digital Food Influencer of the Year. Anunay Sood, a famed travel influencer with over one million followers on Instagram and over two lakh on YouTube, bagged the award for being the Digital Travel Influencer of the Year. DJ Anyasa won the award for the Best DJ for her foot tapping beats.

    Bollywood actress Bhumi Pednekar won the Sustainability Champion award and actor Maniesh Paul bagged the Style Maverick of the Year.

  • Viacom18 Consumer Products expands Roadies Koffeehouz franchise

  • Access Entertainment invests in its first Israeli television drama, Red Skies

    Mumbai: Access Entertainment has  announced its investment in major new Israeli drama series, Red Skies. The deal marks the first foray into Israeli television drama production for Access Entertainment, a division of Len Blavatnik’s Access Industries, which is committed to delivering the highest-quality entertainment content and partnering with leading talent to build fast-growing businesses.

    Red Skies will premiere at Series Mania Festival on 18 March, where it has been nominated for a Best Series Award at the festival’s International Competition. The show will be broadcast on Reshet 13, one of Israel’s broadcast television channels.

    Red Skies is an 8×50 minute series created by Ron Leshem (Euphoria, No Man’s Land), Daniel Shinar (author of the novel Red Skies), Daniel Amsel (Euphoria, HBO+ Valley of Tears) and Amit Cohen (Hulu’s No Man’s Land, Fox and Canal+ False Flag). The director is Alon Zingman (Netflix’s Shtisel). Additional Writers include Ali Waked (Bethehem), Ala Daka and Noa Mannheim. The series is produced by Yoav Gross (Carthago, Manayek) along with Len Blavatnik and Danny Cohen, of Access Entertainment, who serve as executive producers.

  • Kapil Sharma states, “Modi Ji did not refuse the invitation.” to the Kapil Sharma Show

    Mumbai: Kapil Sharma recalled the time he invited PM Modi to The Kapil Sharma Show.  Sharma is popularly known for his comic timings and has previously delivered films from that genre. Several celebrities from Shah Rukh Khan to Aishwarya Rai Bachchan have been guests to his comedy show. It also had Shark Tank team, Baba Ramdev and many other celebrities who do not belong from the film industry. In a recent interview, Sharma spoke about inviting Prime Minister Modi to his show.

    Aaj Tak TV show Seedhi Baat, Sharma was asked in an interview with Sudhir Chaudhary if he would ever like to invite PM Modi to his comedy show, he replied, “When I met the prime minister personally, I asked him to pay a visit to my show someday. He did not reject the invitation that time. He said, ‘For now my oppositions are doing enough comedy, so will come someday later”

  • What’s up Wellness secures 60 Lakhs funding on Shark Tank India season two

    Mumbai: What’s Up Wellness, a Gurugram-based wellness brand, which offers delectable gummy supplements, secured 60 lakhs in the latest episode of Shark Tank India Season 2. The startup was featured on the episode which aired on 27 February, 2022 and won investments from Aman Gupta of BoAt, Vineeta Singh of Sugar Cosmetics, and Anupam Mittal of Shaadi.com.

    What’s Up Wellness co-founders Vaibhav Makhija and Sayantani Mandal, impressed the Sharks with their innovative approach to vitamins. The judges were particularly impressed with the brand’s gummies, which offer a fun and frictionless way for people across age groups to get their daily vitamin needs.

    The brand currently has five crores and aims to clock around two crores of revenue per month by the end of this year. What’s Up Wellness offers three kinds of gummy supplements as of now: What’s Up Beauty Gummies for hair, skin, and nails, What’s Up Sleep Gummies for sound sleep and muscle & nerve-relaxation, and What’s Up Stress-Relief Gummies for alleviating anxiety and inducing calmness. The brand plans to launch innovative products across multiple wellness categories in the near future.

    The idea for Vitamins packed in gummies immediately piqued judges’ curiosity, and the innovative idea of making wellness fun and delicious became a hit among the panel. All the judges tasted the gummies and found them intriguing which made them ask volleys of questions from the duo regarding the gummies’ constituents and functionings.

    What’s Up Wellness has already secured significant investment from D2C disruptors in December last year, including Hopscotch ex COO Puneet Sehgal, Clovia co- founder Soumya Kant, Sirona Hygiene co founders Deep Bajaj and Mohit Bajaj; among other investors.

  • ‘Farzi’ ranks number one on top prime video TV shows list globally

    Mumbai: Prime Video’s released crime thriller Farzi continues to break records and scale milestones. After two weeks of its release, the Shahid Kapoor and Vijay Sethupathi starrer series has ranked at number one among the Prime Video shows globally, based on overall online engagement, as per the report by televisionstats.com. While Farzi has secured the top position, other popular Prime Video shows featured on the list are The Boys, The Lord of the Rings, and Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan. Created by Raj and DK, Farzi has been receiving tremendous response from the audiences and critics alike and now has caught the attention of the Prime members in over 240 countries and territories.     Mumbai: Sony SAB is all set to launch a romance drama ‘Dhruv Tara- Samay Sadi se Pare’ a love story that follows the journey of Dhruv and Tara, who are not only extremely divergent in perspectives but also belong to two different eras that are separated by 400 years. ‘Dhruv Tara – Samay Sadi se Pare’ is all set to transport viewers to a world of romance capturing the essence of true love across centuries as Tara takes a journey from the 17th century to the present world. Premiering on 20 February 2023 viewers can watch the show every Monday to Saturday at 8 PM on Sony SAB.

    Dhruv Tara features Dhruv, a skilled neurosurgeon in the present day and Tara, a princess from the 17th century. With her kingdom’s future resting on her brother’s well-being who is gripped with a serious ailment, Tara time travels to find a cure and ends up meeting Dhruv.     Mumbai: Colors ‘Bigg Boss 16’ has crowned MC Stan as the winner of its season. After an arduous and entertainment-filled journey, host of the show Salman Khan handed the winner’s trophy to Stan, who earned the prize money of Rs 31, 80, 000 and a Hyundai Grand i10 NIOS. Shiv Thakare and Priyanka Chahar Choudhary were the finalists who gave the winner a tough fight.

    Stan is applauded as the only contestant who appeared real throughout the season. His lingo has caught on with viewers and sparked a huge feast of memes on social media. Way before his victory, he was credited with putting the community of underground rappers on the Indian map through his presence in this season. Every housemate of the season was in awe of the remarkable fan army he commanded. His commentary and observation of the housemates in his signature style were satirical and hilarious.
