  • Superstars light up the stage at the 68th Hyundai Filmfare Awards 2023

    Mumbai: The coveted Black Lady of Filmfare honoured the artistic and technical excellence of Hindi Cinema with a brand-new edition of the glorious awards night, the 68th Hyundai Filmfare Awards 2023 with Maharashtra Tourism. Held on 27 April 2023, at Jio World Convention Centre, Mumbai, the mega event witnessed the big names from Indian Cinema gracing the red carpet, entertaining the crowd, and being felicitated for their work across different categories such as Popular, Critics’ and Technical. These awardees were selected by the esteemed jury of filmmakers, screenwriters and dignified legends from the Indian Cinema, who, with their candour have applauded some of the best upcoming talents for the future of the Hindi Cinema in the form of winners. The fans of Hindi Cinema can watch the exclusive telecast of this magnificent awards night on Colors and a simulcast on Jio Cinema on 28 April 28 at 9 pm.

    The event was a true spectacle of glory and entertainment with audiences revelling in sheer excitement and loud cheers as Badhaai Do was announced as the winner of the Best Film Critics award. The award for Best Debutants was bestowed upon Ankush Gedam and Andrea Kevichusa for Male & Female category respectively for their fresh and breathtaking acting in Jhund and Anek. Rajkummar Rao emerged victorious in the Best Actor (Male) category for his exceptional portrayal of the character of Shardul Thakur, a gay man, in the movie Badhaai Do, while the Best Actor (Female) award was presented to the stunningly beautiful Alia Bhatt for her role in Gangubai Kathiawadi.

    In addition to the immense love and appreciation that the movies and their actors received from the fans, the esteemed jury panel also recognized and honoured winners across other categories. Veteran Actor Sanjay Mishra took home the Black Lady in the Best Actor (Male) of the Critics’ Choice category. The prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award was presented to the legendary Prem Chopra by Mangal Prabhat Lodha, honorable Minister of Tourism, Skills, Employment, Entrepreneurship and Innovation Women and Child Development, Government of Maharashtra. The awards ceremony was a spectacular celebration of the exceptional talent and hard work of the film industry.

    This year’s Filmfare ceremony was nothing short of historic, as it featured the megastar Salman Khan taking on the role of host for the very first time, alongside co-hosts Ayushmann Khurrana and Maniesh Paul. As Salman Khan made his grand entrance onto the stage, his magnetic presence filled the air, leaving the audience in awe. The fans were visibly thrilled, bursting with energy and enthusiasm, making it an unforgettable night. The evening was also graced by the presence of the resplendent and graceful Smt. Amruta Fadnavis, who radiated elegance and poise.

  • Filmfare unveils the 68 Hyundai Filmfare Awards with Maharashtra Tourism

    Mumbai: The 68 Hyundai Filmfare Awards 2023 with Maharashtra Tourism, is all set to be a celebration of the artistry and ingenuity of filmmakers, actors, and artists. Gearing up for the biggest awards night of the year with high-calibre performances, Filmfare unveils the illustrious list of nominations to recognise the best in Hindi cinema, for the year 2022. The award night will be held in honour with a live on-ground show on 27 April 2023, at the Jio World Convention Centre, BKC in Mumbai.  

    Celebrating the finest of Hindi cinema, this year’s grand event will witness some of the greatest acts, stellar wins and stimulating performances. Leading the pack with an astounding 16 nominations across categories is Gangubai Kathiawadi, a biographical film that tells the riveting tale of a woman’s rise to power in Mumbai’s red-light district. This is followed by the movie Badhaai Do, with a whopping 15 nominations, which is a story of a couple caught in a lavender marriage. Also, the Ranbir-Alia starrer, Brahmastra Part One: Shiva and horror-comedy, Bhediya, starring Varun Dhawan – both get 14 & 13 nominations respectively are in the race of taking home the coveted Black Lady. Vying to win big, films like Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, Lal Singh Chaddha, and Vikram Vedha have received a total of 10, 09, and 08 nominations, respectively.

    Some of the most dynamic and talented actors are all ready to go head-to-head in the race to bag the top honours in the categories of Leading Role (Male) and Best Actor in a Leading Role (Female). For the former, Amitabh Bachchan (Uunchai), Ajay Devgn (Drishyam 2), Anupam Kher (The Kashmir Files), Hrithik Roshan (Vikram Vedha), Kartik Aaryan (Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2) and Rajkummar Rao (Badhaai Do) have been nominated. For the latter, Kareena Kapoor Khan (Lal Singh Chaddha), Tabu (Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2), Alia Bhatt (Gangubai Kathiawadi), Bhumi Pednekar (Badhaai Do) and Janhvi Kapoor (Mili) will be fiercely competing to win the top spot. Through its three broad categories – Popular Awards, Critics’ Awards, and Technical Awards, Filmfare will be acknowledging and celebrating the achievements of the cast and the crew as well.

  • Critics’ Choice Awards 2023 announced

    Mumbai: Motion Content Group, GroupM’s global content investment and rights  management company partnered with Zee Media Network for its Critics’ Choice Awards.   • ‘Promax India Regional Awards 2023’ celebrates the best in regional entertainment

    Mumbai: The realm of regional entertainment has been making waves, attracting viewers from across borders and languages. Recognising this trend, Promax India recently hosted the third edition of the ‘Promax India Regional Awards 2023’ on 20 April. The event aimed to dive into the evolution of regional markets while also recognising the best in regional entertainment. 

    The event was virtually hosted by the charming and witty host of India’s first LGBTQIA radio show RJ Kabir of RED FM and was live-streamed on Promax India’s official facebook page. The competition was fierce, with over 120 jurors judging 39 categories, and the winners were well-deserving. 

    Sony Pictures Networks India has emerged as the biggest winner of the night, taking home (Sony Sports Network with six gold and three silver, Sony Marathi with five gold and three silver and Sony LIV with four gold and three silver) followed by Shemaroo Entertainment with nine gold and three Silver, Disney Star with three gold and six silver, ZEE Entertainment Enterprises – ZEE Marathi with three Gold and six silvers and Viacom18 Media with two gold and six silver.

  • National Geographic’s impact driven campaign profiles inspiring stories of young changemakers this Earth Day

Defying the perception that only adults can bring about change, National Geographic’s One for Change is now celebrating the inspirational stories of six young changemakers and their love for our planet. Sparked by a formidable sense of passion and the tenacity to make a difference, these young champions aged 9-17 years, are debunking the myth that kids are too young to drive a change and have been consciously working towards planet conservation. Their inspiring stories will be amplified across the Disney Star network as a special Earth Day initiative urging millions of viewers to prioritize sustainability in their daily lives.

    Over the last one year, One for Change brought alive the powerful narratives of 30 changemakers and struck a chord with the campaign reaching out to 256 million audiences* across the country.     4.    Thaaragai Aarathana – Aiming to spread awareness and to protect marine life from plastic waste, eight year-old Thaaragai is on a mission to clean the ocean bed of plastic waste by doing cleanliness drive

    5.    Ridhima Pandey – The 14-year-old young activist believes in the power of complaints made to world leaders to influence climate action and raise voice against any phenomenon that threatens the climate

    6.    Ankith Suhas Rao – Ankith believes that small questions lead to big changes, if the right questions are addressed to the right people and on the right platform

  • Shemaroo Umang launches fiction show ‘Shravani’

    Mumbai: Shemaroo Umang is all set to launch its prime-time original, “Shravani”. The show’s story revolves around the central character of Shravani, who embodies the virtues of love and devotion towards her parents. Based in the beautiful city of Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh, the show promises an engaging storyline and a talented cast. “Shravani” is scheduled to air every Monday to Saturday at 8:30 PM, starting from 24 April 2023.

    “Shravani” is a heartwarming drama that follows the inspiring story of an 8-year-old girl, Shravani, who dreams of becoming an eye specialist to cure people and help them. Despite being born to visually impaired parents who were shunned for their inter-caste marriage, Shravani never gives up on her dreams and relentlessly pursues them.     Mumbai: Ssoftoons Entertainment Media LLP, known for bringing some of the most popular animated series that have been loved by kids, has announced the release of their latest creation, “Twinkle Sharma #0007”. Bringing in a new genre of storytelling, led by a girl protagonist, the series has premiered on the Disney Channel. 

    An action-adventure series, “Twinkle Sharma #0007” introduces audiences to a young girl, Twinkle Sharma, who is known for her courage and a heart of gold. Sharma’s seven ghost friends, Sa, Re, Ga, Ma, Pa, Dha, and Ni, help her fight against the evil magician Giligili and his agents Natwar and Durmush, who are after the ghosts for their unique powers. Twinkle is often accompanied by her supportive best friend Bablu, along with Pinku, the neighbourhood bully, who learns to respect her strength and courage. Each episode promises a tale of heroism, along with elements of mystery, fantasy and magic.

  • aha Telugu Indian Idol 2 to host oscar winner Chandra Bose as special guest

    Mumbai: aha, a 100 per cent local OTT platform, has announced that Oscar-winning Telugu lyricist Chandra Bose will join as a special guest on the 14 and 15 of April for Telugu Indian Idol 2. Bose, who won the Academy Award for Best Original Song for “Naatu Naatu” from the Telugu film RRR, will support and cheer for the Top nine contestants.

    As the soul of music, lyrics play an integral role in any composition, and Bose’s work has been celebrated worldwide. His contributions to the Telugu film industry have been immeasurable. His presence on Telugu Indian Idol 2 is a testament to his love for music and unwavering support for new talent.

    Joining Bose will be Telugu playback singer Rahul Sipligunj, the voice behind “Naatu Naatu”. As a talented musician, Rahul’s presence on the show is a nod to the importance of breaking barriers and creating opportunities for budding artists.
