One Take Media dives into animation with ‘Lord Tirupati Balaji – The Film’ set for global release

MUMBAI: In a cinematic leap of divine proportions, One Take Media Co has officially answered the call of the cosmos.

The Mumbai-based content powerhouse has stepped into film production with its debut feature film Lord Tirupati Balaji – The Film, an animated epic poised to blend high-calibre 3D visuals with the might of mythology. And yes, Lord Balaji is going worldwide—in Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, and English. Jai cinema!

The ambitious project marks One Take Media Co’s pivot from being purveyors of K-Dramas and cartoons to full-blown mythological moguls. The production is helmed by veteran director Jyotin Goel—of Zahreelay, Safari, and Bird Idol fame—whose flair for both live-action and animation makes him the ideal charioteer for this gods-meet-graphics spectacle.

The company has teamed up with iRealities Technology Pvt Ltd, the animation wizards behind global hit Chaar Sahibzaade, for the tech muscle. And it’s not just pretty pixels: the film’s backbone rests on years of intense historical and mythological research, guided by a panel of scholars and PhDs. Input from the Tirupati Devasthanam Trust adds further authenticity to what promises to be a spiritually rich, visually glorious narrative.

Lord Tirupati Balaji – The Film tells the powerful tale of Lord Balaji, Goddess Lakshmi, and Padmavati. But this isn’t your grandpa’s temple tale—this is legend, rendered in photorealistic 3D, destined for Dolby Atmos, and tuned for global ears.

One Take Media Co CEO & founder Anil Khera confirmed that the studio is “actively onboarding prominent actors and actresses from South India and Mumbai to lend their voices to the film.” Which means, if you thought mythological films were all slow chants and glowing halos, get ready for booming baritones and star-studded Sanskrit.

And the reach won’t stop at the box office. After its grand global theatrical launch, the film will make its digital darshan on leading OTT platforms, ensuring devotees and cinephiles alike can stream the gods from their couches. Because divine intervention is best enjoyed in HD.

One Take Media Co clearly has its third eye wide open for what’s next. This production marks a massive step up—and a heavenly gamble to ride India’s ever-growing appetite for myth meets tech.

With divine storytelling, scholarly credibility, and cutting-edge animation in its armoury, Lord Tirupati Balaji – The Film could just be the next devotional blockbuster to bless the multiplex and beyond. Om shanti… and roll camera.

  • India’s faith tourism unveiled: Kantar’s insights on spiritual journeys

India’s faith tourism unveiled: Kantar’s insights on spiritual journeys

MUMBAI: Every morning, as the first rays of sunlight kiss the banks of the Ganges, Haridwar awakens to a symphony of temple bells and the resonant chants of priests. Here, faith isn’t just a belief – it’s a way of life.

Across the country, from the towering gopurams of Tirupati to the serene dargahs of Ajmer Sharif, millions embark on pilgrimages driven by devotion and tradition, weaving India’s cultural fabric tighter with each journey.

In a nation where the Brihadaranyaka Upanishad counts 33 crore deities, faith flows as freely as the rivers that nourish its plains. Festivals celebrating these gods often transform cities into oceans of colour, light, and devotion.

And the devotion runs deep: as of 2023, Indians spent a staggering Rs 3.02 lakh crore on gods, rituals, and religious pursuits – 2.32 per cent of the nation’s GDP. Fast-forward two years, and this figure is likely to have quadrupled, reflecting the unshakable bond between Indians and their faith.

According to Kantar’s TGI Report for 2024, one in four Indians now travels to a spiritual destination, making religious tourism a booming sector. Haridwar stands tall as the most visited site, followed by Shirdi, Tirupati, Ayodhya, and Ajmer Sharif – each place carrying its own story of miracles, faith, and divinity. Religious sites now outnumber schools and hospitals, becoming pillars of India’s social and economic framework.

But this devotion raises poignant questions: Why do we have more temples than schools? Why do festivals outshine public healthcare initiatives in funding? And how does a country balance its cultural identity with pressing developmental needs? As faith drives millions to destinations like Shirdi, Ayodhya, and Ajmer Sharif, the impact of this spiritual odyssey on India’s economy and priorities becomes a tale worth unravelling.

In a nation where gods outnumber mortals, the power of belief is not just a cultural phenomenon – it’s a thriving industry.

In a pioneering move, Kantar is set to launch its Maha Kumbh Mela 2025 Report in April, offering granular insights into pilgrim movements, behaviours, and opportunities for brands to engage meaningfully with this growing audience.

Kantar insights division-south Asia specialist businesses director, Puneet Avasthi commented, “Religious tourism significantly contributes to India’s economy, presenting unique opportunities for brands to forge authentic connections with audiences. Our Maha Kumbh Mela Report will provide actionable insights into consumer motivations, purchasing patterns, and engagement strategies for one of the world’s largest cultural gatherings.”

Key insights from the TGI report:

1    Haridwar’s dominance: Haridwar emerged as the top pilgrimage site, attracting 54 per cent of North Indian tourists. In contrast, Tirupati saw 82 per cent preference among South Indian visitors, reflecting regional cultural ties.

2    Demographic dynamics: Pilgrims aged 25-44 dominated religious travel. Younger travellers (25-34) preferred Haridwar, while the 35-44 group gravitated toward Ayodhya.

3    Gender disparity: Haridwar and Ayodhya showed significant male dominance among visitors, at 61 per cent and 69 per cent, respectively. This trend highlights the potential to create more inclusive travel experiences for women.

4    Affluent travel: Religious tourism leaned heavily towards the affluent, with NCCS A-class individuals forming a significant share of the visitor base.

This upcoming report will provide an in-depth understanding of pilgrim behaviours, including spending habits, travel preferences, and the role of digital platforms in enhancing experiences. It aims to empower brands with tools to create targeted, culturally relevant strategies.

Kantar’s TGI 2024 surveyed 63,622 individuals, of whom 17,734 reported visiting religious destinations. The study spanned urban and rural areas, covering males and females aged 15-55 across socio-economic categories NCCS A-E.

Kantar’s Maha Kumbh Mela 2025 Report is poised to bridge the gap between faith and commerce, enabling brands to navigate the intersection of culture, spirituality, and consumerism with precision.

  • Ad film maker Rohit Reddy and his magical AI series Mahabharat

Ad film maker Rohit Reddy and his magical AI series Mahabharat

MUMBAI: We all know of him as the husband of Anita Hassanandani, the actress who tends to spew venom as the negative lead in many an Ekta Kapoor show. As well as her dance partner some years ago on Nach Baliye and a part time actor-model. But EiPI Media founder & CEO Rohit Reddy has a lot more to his credit. Apart from having a long-running corporate career which he gave up to turn entrepreneur and offer branded solutions from the time he set up his agency along with his wife in 2018.

EiPi Media  has been working on adding that additional layer of gee whiz CG imagery, VFX, and mixed reality  to make TV commercials and social media campaigns stand out.  This apart it has been working with several influencers to create influencer marketing videos.  Among the influencers it has been working with feature: Varun Dhawan, Soha Ali Khan, Shakti Mohan, Neeti Mohan, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Konkana Sen Sharma, Sanaya irani, Barun Sobti, Alanan Panday, Sanya Malhotra, Shivam Dube, Arjun Kapoor, Parineeti Chopra, Tiger Shroff, Varun Sharma – the list could go on.

Among the ads and vertical videos that Rohit and team EiPi have worked on include:  Adidas and the reveal of the blue team jersey, Too Yum with Varun Dhawan,  TruNativ and Kareena Kapoor Khan, Euro Pratik with Hrithik Roshan, LensKart kids glasses , Fossil, BBlunt – and scores of other campaigns.

    MAHABHARAT THE ETERNAL WAR

But what has sent Linkedin on fire  in the past two  days is Rohit’s recent post of a teaser for a series we are all so familiar with – the epic Mahabharat. What makes the trailer special, says Rohit, that it has been totally generated using generative artificial intelligence. Seven generative AI tools have been used to produce the sizzle reel in which the characters look so real it makes some of the earlier productions which have come on television with actual  human actors  look rather primitive. It even has a feel of the DI heavy film 300.

Rohit has not revealed much about the project excepting to say that it is coming soon, labelling it as an EiPi Media project. The reel ends with the caption: “Mahabharat. An Eternal War.”

The post has been viralised on linkedin, generating numerous likes, comments and reposts.
We, at indiantelevision.com,  tried to reach out to Rohit, but could not get a hold of him at the time of writing. However, you can continue watching this space when we do.

Our commitment to delivering exceptional entertainment has led us to explore diverse genres, and the fantasy realm has been one of our most triumphant ventures, receiving overwhelming love and positive reception from viewers across the country. Taking audiences on an adrenaline-fueled journey, this show introduces a wicked Chudail obsessed with attaining supreme power and beauty through the dark ‘Solah Shringars,’ pitting her against the pure love of the protagonists. We are elated to revisit and reinvent the fantasy genre, transporting viewers into an extraordinary realm of magic, spells and enthralling storytelling.”

Talking about essaying the role of Suhagan Chudail, Nia Sharma said, “As an actor, I find myself drawn to characters that challenge me to explore new depths and push my boundaries. Portraying the enigmatic Suhagan Chudail is one such opportunity. After being part of COLORS’ iconic Naagin franchise, I’m thrilled to play this supernatural being consumed by an insatiable thirst for immortality and on a quest to attain the 16th ‘Shringar’ which will make her the most beautiful and immortal supernatural entity. What makes Nishigandha truly intriguing is the meticulous attention to detail in her character, from her striking nails and intricate makeup to her mesmerizing outfits, ensuring that every aspect of this enchantress resonates with the audience’s imagination.”

Prepared to essay the role of Deeya, Debchandrima Singha Roy said, “Suhagan Chudail holds a special place in my heart as it marks my debut in the world of Hindi television. Portraying the role of Moksh, Zayn Ibad Khan said, “I will be essaying the role of Moksh, a royal blue blood from a prestigious Rajasthan family. He is someone who loves to spread love and embodies righteousness and strong moral values. The fascinating part is even though he is in a spell of suhagan chudail his true love will always come to save him. However, what makes it different is that it will be portrayed as a relatable character, steering clear of an unrealistic depiction of a man blindly entranced by an enchantress. This is precisely what excited me most about the show – despite the fantasy premise, we will depict the supernatural characters and events as realistically as possible, unlike other fantasy shows. The audience will find Moksh a genuine, relatable character rather than a superficial portrayal.”
