  • Filmfare unveils the 68 Hyundai Filmfare Awards with Maharashtra Tourism

    Mumbai: The 68 Hyundai Filmfare Awards 2023 with Maharashtra Tourism, is all set to be a celebration of the artistry and ingenuity of filmmakers, actors, and artists. Gearing up for the biggest awards night of the year with high-calibre performances, Filmfare unveils the illustrious list of nominations to recognise the best in Hindi cinema, for the year 2022. The award night will be held in honour with a live on-ground show on 27 April 2023, at the Jio World Convention Centre, BKC in Mumbai.  

    Celebrating the finest of Hindi cinema, this year’s grand event will witness some of the greatest acts, stellar wins and stimulating performances. Leading the pack with an astounding 16 nominations across categories is Gangubai Kathiawadi, a biographical film that tells the riveting tale of a woman’s rise to power in Mumbai’s red-light district. This is followed by the movie Badhaai Do, with a whopping 15 nominations, which is a story of a couple caught in a lavender marriage. Also, the Ranbir-Alia starrer, Brahmastra Part One: Shiva and horror-comedy, Bhediya, starring Varun Dhawan – both get 14 & 13 nominations respectively are in the race of taking home the coveted Black Lady. Vying to win big, films like Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, Lal Singh Chaddha, and Vikram Vedha have received a total of 10, 09, and 08 nominations, respectively.

    Some of the most dynamic and talented actors are all ready to go head-to-head in the race to bag the top honours in the categories of Leading Role (Male) and Best Actor in a Leading Role (Female). For the former, Amitabh Bachchan (Uunchai), Ajay Devgn (Drishyam 2), Anupam Kher (The Kashmir Files), Hrithik Roshan (Vikram Vedha), Kartik Aaryan (Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2) and Rajkummar Rao (Badhaai Do) have been nominated. For the latter, Kareena Kapoor Khan (Lal Singh Chaddha), Tabu (Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2), Alia Bhatt (Gangubai Kathiawadi), Bhumi Pednekar (Badhaai Do) and Janhvi Kapoor (Mili) will be fiercely competing to win the top spot. Through its three broad categories – Popular Awards, Critics’ Awards, and Technical Awards, Filmfare will be acknowledging and celebrating the achievements of the cast and the crew as well.

  • Critics’ Choice Awards 2023 announced

    Mumbai: Motion Content Group, GroupM’s global content investment and rights  management company partnered with Zee Media Network for its Critics’ Choice Awards. Citizens  across the country witnessed the grand celebrations of the big win of their favourite actor, actress,  screenplay writers etc via their most-trusted Zee Media Network channels (linear & digital) on  14th April 2023.

  • ‘Promax India Regional Awards 2023’ celebrates the best in regional entertainment

    Mumbai: The realm of regional entertainment has been making waves, attracting viewers from across borders and languages. Recognising this trend, Promax India recently hosted the third edition of the ‘Promax India Regional Awards 2023’ on 20 April. The event aimed to dive into the evolution of regional markets while also recognising the best in regional entertainment. 

    The event was virtually hosted by the charming and witty host of India’s first LGBTQIA radio show RJ Kabir of RED FM and was live-streamed on Promax India’s official facebook page. The competition was fierce, with over 120 jurors judging 39 categories, and the winners were well-deserving. 

    Sony Pictures Networks India has emerged as the biggest winner of the night, taking home (Sony Sports Network with six gold and three silver, Sony Marathi with five gold and three silver and Sony LIV with four gold and three silver) followed by Shemaroo Entertainment with nine gold and three Silver, Disney Star with three gold and six silver, ZEE Entertainment Enterprises – ZEE Marathi with three Gold and six silvers and Viacom18 Media with two gold and six silver.

    Mumbai: Zee News, one of India’s news channels, has partnered with The Film Critics Guild and hosted the fifth season of the Critics’ Choice Awards (CCA) at Bal Gandharva Mandir, Bandra on 27 March 2023. This event will telecast on Zee News linear and digital platforms soon.

  • Zee Zest unlimit awards- The pursuit of excellence

    Mumbai: Zee Zest unlimit awards was a grand evening that celebrated and honoured the stalwarts from cuisine, beverages & nightlife, luxury hotels and resorts, and individuals in the food and travel space. The first edition of the ZEE ZEST UNLIMIT AWARDS Presented by L’Oreal Paris– New (Hyaluron) Moisture was hosted at ITC Grand Central, Mumbai on 21 March, 2023. The event was graced by celebrities like Nimrat Kaur, Maniesh Paul, Jaaved Jaffrey, Mrunal Thakur, Addinath Kothare, to name a few.

    There were multiple awards in each category and several nominations were shortlisted from across the country. The winners were picked by a rigorous process of jury selection and public voting.

    The cuisine category saw eight awards. Yum Yum Cha, New Delhi, serving traditional and authentic Pan Asian Bistro won the award for the Best Pan-Asian Restaurant. Izumi in Goa, known for its scrumptious Japanese style rice bowls and ramen bagged the Best Japanese Restaurant award. Botticino that serves hearty Italian flavors within the abode of contemporary and refined ambience located in Trident, Mumbai was honoured as the Best Italian Restaurant. The Craftery by Subko, Mumbai that pulls the visitors with its aromatic coffee flavors was crowned as the Best Café. The Black Forest Berliner and Classic Chocolate Slice that are winning the hearts of the visitors at the Padaria Prazeres, Goa, listed its name for being the Best Bakery in the country. The Avartana based in ITC Grand Chola, Chennai that specializes in serving delectable dishes like Fried Squid and Cauliflower Crunch was awarded the Best Progressive Indian Restaurant. Cavatina, Goa that is renowned for dressing its dishes uniquely won the Best Regional Restaurant. Serving organic, vegan, gluten free and refined sugar-free dishes Yogisattva Mumbai made its name for being the Best Vegan Restaurant.

    The second category of Beverages and Nightlife had five awards and a stiff competition. Carving a luxurious space while maintaining the leisurely vibe with soulful ambience and inventive cocktails Raeeth, Goa won the award for Best Nightclub. Headed by renowned mycologist and author, Yangdup Lama, the Sidecar in New Delhi took home the award for the Best Cocktail Bar. The Sula Rasa Cabernet Sauvignon that is packed with aromatic dark fruits and berries with elegant and complex structure won the Best Indian Wine award. The Jaisalmer that has the hint of liquorice, angelica and cubeb pepper in it listed its name for being the Best Indian Craft Gin. The Best Craft Beer award was honoured to White Rhino Brewing that was founded in 2016. 

    The Travel category had four awards: Oberoi group’s popular luxury resort Udaivilas was crowned as the Best Luxury Resort. ITC Grand Chola of Chennai bagged the award for being the Best Luxury Hotel. The Barefoot at Havelock in Andaman Islands listed its name among the Best Sustainable Resort. The Six Senses Vana of Dehradun that offers a wide range of therapeutic experiences like Yoga, Ayurveda, Tibetan Medicine, and Natural Healing Therapies to its visitors named itself for being the Best Wellness Retreat.

    The final category awarded the Individual achievers. Avinash Martins, a celebrity chef and founder of Cavatina, Goa won the Chef of the Year award. The Sacred Foods of India is a tribute to India’s culture and heritage by the celebrity and award-winning Chef Vikas Khanna that won the Book of the Year award. Known for her innovative Hustle Bomb and Bloody Mary Foam drinks, Mixologist Aashie Bhatnagar, of Cobbler & Crew, Goa bagged the award for being the Mixologist of The Year. Rohit Khattar, the founder of Old World Hospitality Ltd. won the Zee Zest Unlimit Icon of the Year award. Uma Raghuraman, a passionate celebrity chef and blogger, was honoured with the Digital Food Influencer of the Year. Anunay Sood, a famed travel influencer with over one million followers on Instagram and over two lakh on YouTube, bagged the award for being the Digital Travel Influencer of the Year. DJ Anyasa won the award for the Best DJ for her foot tapping beats.

    Bollywood actress Bhumi Pednekar won the Sustainability Champion award and actor Maniesh Paul bagged the Style Maverick of the Year.

    ZEE has taken a pioneering consumer forward big data led approach for determining the nominations and winners for the Viewer’s Choice Awards. This has been possible through the development of a data driven decision support system that taps into 20+ open data sources for all the movies released from Jan Dec 2022. The proprietary model stands on 3 pillars i.e popularity, ratings and box office collections. The data sources include platforms where consumers post comments, express opinions about movies and actors such as social media platforms, review & rating websites, ticket booking & audio streaming platforms.     Among the female leads, the nominees include Alia Bhatt for her hard hitting roles in Gangubai Kathiawadi and Darlings, Deepika Padukone for her spirited performance in Gehraiyaan, Kiara Advani for her charming act in Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, Kriti Sanon for her effervescent role in Bhediya and Bhumi Pednekar for her remarkable performance in Badhaai Do.

    The Song of the Year category comprises chartbusters like Kesariya from Brahmastra: Part One Shiva, Doobey from Gehraiyaan, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 Title Track from Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, The Punjaabban Song from JugJugg Jeeyo, Apna Bana Le from Bhediya and Maiyaa Mainu from Jersey.
