    BARC introduces Alpha Club

    MUMBAI: Broadcast Audience Research Council (BARC) India plans to roll out all Indian audience measurement data with new monthly communique called Alpha Club.

     

    Alpha Club will offer analysis and insights into NCCS A1, A2, and A3 viewership of six mega cities, by presenting cumulative data of preceding four weeks for Rat’000, Coverage’000, and ATS(Viewer). Channels for which data has been released for all four weeks will be covered. The service is exclusively for BARC India’s subscribers and will be rolled one working day after 4th week’s data is released.

    BARC says that the move is in the pursuit of providing sharper consumer insights and was based on the feedback from its subscribers 

    The first edition of Alpha Club will be sent out to its subscribers on November 17, 2015. The first edition would consist of two sets of analyses: one for data of Week 37-40, and the other for Week 41-44.

    MUMBAI: Ten Sports led the sports genre, while Nick continues to lead the kids genre according to BARC data on All India (U+R).
     
    On the other hand, MTV continues to lead the youth genre, while Mastii bagged the first position in the music genre and Discovery Channel became number one in the infotainment genre in week 44.

     

    SPORTS

     

    In the sports genre, Ten Sports led the pack with 108191 (000Sums) followed by Star Sports 1 in the second spot with 51664 (000Sums) and Star Sports 3 stood in the third spot with 49885 (000Sums). In the fourth slot, Sony Six scored 22473 (000Sums), whereas Star Sports 2 with 17788 (000Sums) was on the fifth berth.  
     

    KIDS

     

    In the Kids genre, Nick continues to lead with 95856 (000Sums) followed by Pogo TV in second spot with 79774 (000Sums) and Cartoon Network with 67044 (000Sums) in the third place. Hungama with 50135 (000Sums) and Disney Channel with 44512 (000Sums) held the fourth and fifth place respectively.
     

    YOUTH

     

    MTV led the pack in the youth genre with 26237 (000Sums) followed by Bindass at second place with 12601 (000Sums) and Zing on the third spot with 11965(000Sums). Zoom secured fourth place with 8743 (000Sums), whereas Channel V was at fifth place with 6339 (000Sums).
     

    MUSIC

     

    In the music genre, Mastii captured the numero uno position with 118074 (000Sums) followed by B4U with 80223 (000Sums) and 9XM with 73265 (000Sums). Sony Mix grabbed the fourth slot with 42461 (000Sums), whereas 9X Jalwa with 38397 (000Sums) was in the fifth place.
     

    INFOTAINMENT

     

    Discovery Channel garnered the first place with 5897 (000Sums) followed by National Geographic Channel in the second spot with 3896 (000Sums) and History TV18 with 3854 (000Sums) in the third slot. Animal Planet secured the fourth spot with 3628 (000Sums) and Nat Geo Wild stood on the fifth berth with 1557 (000Sums).

    MUMBAI: In week 44, While Times Now maintained its number one position in the English news channels genre in the All India (U+R) market according to Broadcast Audience Research Council (BARC) India data, Aaj Tak slipped to second slot, while India TV secured the leadership position in the Hindi news channels section. 
     
    In the English business and Hindi business news genre, ET Now and CNBC Awaaz maintained their position as leaders in their respective genres. 

    HINDI NEWS
     
    India TV secured the first place in Hindi news genre with 71129 (000Sums) followed by Aaj Tak which fell one place down to second spot with 68284 (000Sums). ABP News secured the third berth with 61433 (000Sums), whereas News Nation with 51833 (000Sums) and Zee News with 50460 (000Sums) grabbed the fourth and fifth spot respectively. 
     
     
    ENGLISH NEWS
     
    Times Now garnered maximum ratings in the genre and continued to be in the pole position with 671 (000Sums) followed by CNN IBN at second position with 320 (000Sums). NDTV 24×7 garnered third position with 278 (000Sums) and India Today Television saw an increase in ratings, it continued to hold the fourth place with 235 (000Sums) against 152(000Sums) in the previous week. News 9 continued to maintain fifth slot with a score of 175 (000Sums) against 124 (000Sums) in week 43. 

    HINDI BUSINESS NEWS
     
    Like last week, in the Hindi business news genre, CNBC Awaaz bagged the first spot with 944  (000Sums) followed by Zee Business in second slot with 899 (000Sums). 

     
    ENGLISH BUSINESS NEWS

     
    In the English business news channels, ET Now continues to dominate the genre with 467 (000Sums) followed by CNBC TV18 with 277 (000Sums) in the second spot. NDTV Profit & Prime in the third slot scored 109 (000Sums), whereas Bloomberg TV secured fourth place with 23 (000Sums) in week 44.

    MUMBAI:  Music Now and Sony MAX continued to remain at the top position in their respective genres for consecutive weeks. Music Now obtained number one spot in English Movies genre in Broadcast Audience Research Council (BARC) ratings with 2902 (000Sums). Sony PIX bagged second spot with 1723 (000Sums).

     

    Zee Studio was on third spot with 1664 (000Sums), followed by HBO and STAR Movies with 1569 (000Sums) and 1404 (000Sums) respectively. 

     

    Sony MAX continued to lead the Hindi Movies genre with 547127 (000Sums). Zee Cinema grabbed the second spot with 423616 (000Sums), followed by STAR Gold, which obtained third place with 354022 (000Sums). 

     

    Whereas, Music OK acquired fourth spot with 264657(000Sums) and &pictures fifth place with 175744 (000Sums) in week 44.

    MUMBAI: Tamil general entertainment channel (GEC) Sun TV continued to hold leadership position across genres in India while Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd (ZEEL) movie channel Zee Cinema made a comeback in top ten list according to week 44 all India (U+R) data from Broadcast Audience Research Council (BARC). A channel, which was featured in the top 10 list across genres in week 41 and failed to hold on to its positions in week 42 and week 43, Zee Cinema made a comeback at tenth position with 451864 (000Sums).

    Despite once again losing  ratings points this week, Sun TV continued to hold pole position in week 44 with 1068033 (000Sums) against 1087793 (000Sums) in the previous week, followed by Hindi GEC leader Star Plus in the second spot with 858020 (000Sums) and Zee TV in the third place with 758225(000Sums).  In week 42, Sun TV had 1151458 (000Sums) ratings.

     
    Colors was at the fourth spot with 730852 (000Sums) while Zee Anmol grabbed fifth position with 730119 (000Sums). Sony Max ranked sixth with 600358 (000Sums).
     

    Life OK jumped to seventh spot with 547301(000Sums) followed by Star India’s FTA channel Star Ustav on the eighth spot on the list with 512490 (000Sums).
     

    ETV Telugu grabbed ninth position with 482302 (000Sums) followed by Zee Cinema mentioned above.

    MUMBAI: MUMBAI: Star Plus has continued to maintain its leadership position. Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd’s (Zeel) free to air (FTA) channel Zee Anmol and Hindi general entertainment channel (GECs) have bagged the second and third position respectively. Multi Screen Media (MSM) FTA channel Sony Pal entered the top ten channels of Hindi GECs list. However, DD National which was earlier in the top ten list failed to hold on its position in week 44 of Broadcast Audience Research Council (BARC) India all India (U + R) data. 

     
    Star Plus led the Hindi GEC genre with 787584 (000Sums), while Zee Anmol bagged the second position with 729701 (000Sums).  Zee TV secured third spot with 694864 (000Sums).

     
    Colors dropped to fourth place with 694582 (000Sums) followed by  Life OK at number five position with 534129 (000Sums).

    Star India’s FTA channel Star Ustav stood at the sixth spot with 511090 (000Sums), whereas Sony Entertainment Television was in the seventh position with 342113 (000Sums).

     

    Sab TV grabbed eighth spot with 336141 (000Sums), while Rishtey which was on tenth slot in previous week stood at ninth spot with 263955 (000Sums) followed by Sony Pal in the tenth slot with 252727 (000Sums).

    MUMBAI: Colors once again moved ahead and grabbed the first position in Hindi general entertainment channels (GECs) genre according to TAM Media Research data of week 45. Star Plus witnessed a slide and secured second spot in the genre.

     

    Colors bagged the first spot with 236 GRPs in week 45 against 221 GRPs in week 44. Star Plus saw a decline in ratings to second slot with 226 GRPs against 239 GRPs in previous week followed by Zee TV at third spot with 152 GRPs and Life OK at fourth place with 138 GRPs.

     

    With the decline in ratings, Sab TV secured fifth position in the section with 122 GRPs against 137 GRPs in week 44. Sony Entertainment TV with 100 GRPs came in at sixth place and &TV was seventh in the genre with 66 GRPs.  

      

    For the  top five Hindi GECs programmes, Star Plus’ prime time show Yeh Hai Mohabbatein  secured the leadership position with 4.93 TVR followed by Colors’ Naagin with 4.34 TVR in second place and ZeeTV ‘s prime time show Kumkum Bhagya on third with 3.74 TVR. In fourth and fifth slot were Star Plus’ two shows Diya Aur Baati Hum and Saath Nibhana Saathiya with 3.59 TVR and 3.56 TVR respectively.

    MUMBAI: In week 43, Aaj Tak retained its top slot and secured the leadership position in the Hindi news channels section, while Times Now maintained its number one position in the English news channels genre in the All India (U+R) market according to Broadcast Audience Research Council (BARC) India data.

     

    In the English business and Hindi business news genre, ET Now and CNBC Awaaz maintained their position as leaders in the respective genres.

     

    HINDI NEWS

     
    Aaj Tak secured the first place in Hindi news genre with 71843 (000Sums) followed by India TV in the second spot with 69329 (000Sums). ABP News secured the third berth with 63994 (000Sums), whereas News Nation with 60509 (000Sums) and Zee News with 51986 (000Sums) garbbed the fourth and fifth spot respectively. 
     
     

    ENGLISH NEWS

     

    Times Now garnered maximum ratings in the genre and continues to be in the pole position with 493 (000Sums) followed by CNN IBN at second position with 295 (000Sums). NDTV 24×7 garnered third position with 244 (000Sums) and India Today Television saw a downfall in ratings but held the fourth place with 152 (000Sums) against 194 in last week. News 9 dropped in ratings and maintained its fifth slot and scored 124 (000Sums) against 156 (000Sums) in week 42. 

    HINDI BUSINESS NEWS

     

    Like last week, in the Hindi business news genre, CNBC Awaaz bagged the first spot with 1063 (000Sums) followed by Zee Business in second slot with 983 (000Sums). 
     

    ENGLISH BUSINESS NEWS

     
    In the English business news channels,  ET Now continued to dominate the genre with 357 (000Sums) followed by CNBC TV18 with 233 (000Sums) in the second spot. NDTV Profit & NDTV Prime in the third slot scored 125 (000Sums), whereas Bloomberg TV secured fourth place with 24 (000Sums) in week 43.

    MUMBAI: AXN secured leadership position in the English general entertainment channel (GECs) genre, while last week’s chart topper Comedy Central went three steps down to settle at the fourth slot in the tally according to Broadcast Audience Research Council (BARC) India data (U+R) in week 43.

     

    AXN led the English GEC genre with 196 (000Sums) followed by Star World in the second slot with 96 (000Sums) followed by Zee Cafe with 90 (000Sums).

     

    Comedy Central, which was on the top in the week 42, secured the fourth slot with 82 (000Sums), whereas Colors Infinity SD with 54 (000Sums) bagged the fifth berth in week 43.

    MUMBAI: Tamil general entertainment channel (GEC) Sun TV continues to maintain its number one position across genres in India according to week 43 all India (U+R) data from Broadcast Audience Research Council (BARC).

     

    What’s more, there’s one new entrant in Top 10 channels list in Star India’s Telugu language channel Maa TV. On the other hand, DD National dropped off the radar from the Top 10 channels in week 43.

     

    Sun TV witnessed the downfall in ratings but secured pole position in week 43 with 1087793 (000Sums) against 1151458 (000Sums) in the previous week, followed by Hindi GEC leader Star Plus in the second spot with 860191 (000Sums) and Zee Anmol in the third place with 723314 (000Sums). 

     

    Zee TV was in the fourth spot with 707981 (000Sums) while Colors, which was on third position last week, grabbed fifth the position with 687321 (000Sums). Sony Max ranked sixth with 640992 (000Sums).

     

    Maa TV made its entry in the Top 10 list across genres at the seventh position with 561415 (000Sums) followed by Life OK on the eighth spot on the list with 523069 (000Sums).

     

    Star India’s FTA channel Star Ustav bagged the ninth spot with 498007 (000Sums), while ETV Telugu made a comeback at the tenth spot this week.
