    BARC week 30: Nick leads kids genre with Motu Patlu

    MUMBAI: Viacom 18’s Nick was yet again the most watched channel in the kids entertainment segment, according to Broadcast Audience Research Council (BARC) India’s all India (U+R) data for week 30 in NCCS All 4-14 Individuals category.

    The channel has bagged 67139 (000s sums) impressions showing a drop in its ratings as compared to week 29 Nick is followed by Turner International’s Cartoon Network by securing 63251 (000s sums) impressions.

    Its sister channel Pogo TV has locked a viewership rating of 50610(000 sums) securing it the third spot on the list, followed by Hungama from Disney India on the fourth spot with 45578 (000s sums) impressions. The list shared by BARC India concludes with Disney Channel at the fifth spot with 45025(000s sums) impressions.

    When it comes to the top five most watched programs in the genre, Motu Patlu has maintained its stronghold in the genre dominating three out of the top five spots.

    Nick’s Motu Patlu In Carnival Island – Part 1 leads the chart with 827 (000s sums), followed by Motu Patlu 36 Ghantey Race Against Time Part – I from the same franchise grabbing the second spot with with 640 (000s sums) impressions.

    With a slightly lower ratings of 559 (000s sums) Motu Patlu in Wonderland was third most watched show in the category . CN’s Lights, Camera, Roll No. 21 Kris In Bollywood made an impressive entry back on the top five program list at number four, with 534(000 sums) impressions.

    Hungama’s Doraemon The Movie Nobita The Explorer Bow! Bow! claimed the fifth spot in the program list with 508(000s sums) impressions. Overall there was a significant drop in total viewership in the genre.

    MUMBAI: While on one hand Colors Infinity SD made a comeback to the English Entertainment genre, AXN HD exited it. The genre saw mixed ratings this week. According to week 29 of BARC India rating, 6 Mega Cities : NCCS AB : 4+ Individuals, the English movies space observed changes in the pecking order dominated by Movies Now.

    Players in the infotainment genre saw a decline in ratings, though Animal Planet witnessed a considerable increase in its viewership. Whereas, the lifestyle genre observed the entry of a new player- Travel XP HD.

    English Entertainment

    Zee Cafe secured its number one position with an increase in rating from 214 Impressions (000s) to 239 Impressions (000s) in week 29. AXN climbed up the rope and grabbed the second berth with 228 Impressions (000s) followed by Comedy Central with 185 Impressions (000s) taking the third position.  

    Star World came down to 178 Impressions (000s) taking the fourth position.  Colors Infinity SD entered the top 5 list at the fifth position with 42 Impressions (000s).

    English Movies

    Movies Now, despite a decline in ratings, sustained the number one position with 3159 Impressions (000s) as compared to 3444 Impressions (000s) in week 28 followed by Star Movies with an increase in the ratings bagging the second position with 2874 Impressions (000s). Sony Pix came down to the third place with 1864 Impressions (000s)  followed by Zee Studio which grabbed the fourth place with 1505 Impressions (000s). HBO bagged the fifth position with 1377 Impressions (000s).

    Infotainment

    Discovery continued to lead the space with 4446 Impressions (000s), followed by National Geographic Channel on second position with 3160 Impressions (000s). Animal Planet with 2975 Impressions (000s) was on third position. History TV18 with 2849 Impressions (000s) and Nat Geo Wild with 1986 Impressions (000s) were on fourth and fifth spot respectively.

    Lifestyle

    Living Foodz with 1922 Impressions (000s) and Fox Life with 671 Impressions (000s) took the first and the second spots respectively. TLC was on third position with 649 Impressions (000s). Food Food grabbed fourth position with 465 Impressions (000s) and Travel XP HD entered the top 5 list at the fifth berth with 246 Impressions (000s).

    Sun TV grabbed the leadership position with 933363 Impressions (000s) followed by Star Plus on second position with 738822 Impressions (000s) and Zee TV which stood at number three with 669333 Impressions (000s).

    Colors bagged the fourth slot in the tally with 608861 Impressions (000s) followed by Sony Max with 462800 Impressions (000s) and Star Utsav with 451746 Impression s(000s) stood at number six.

    Life OK garnered seventh spot with 448612 impression s(000s).

    Zee Anmol and Gemini TV bagged eighth and ninth spot with 434284 Impressions (000s) and 431517 Impressions (000s) respectively.

    ETV Telugu maintained its presence in top ten and stood at number ten with 431517 Impressions (000s.)

    Sun TV grabbed the leadership position with 933363 Impressions (000s) followed by Star Plus on second position with 738822 Impressions (000s) and Zee TV which stood at number three with 669333 Impressions (000s).

    MUMBAI: Star Plus continued to lead the Hindi general entertainment channel (GEC) genre in Urban+ Rural Hindi speaking market (HSM)  whereas  Zee TV  maintained its position at second slot as per Broadcast Audience Research Council (BARC) India ratings for week 29. On the other hand Star Utsav  emerged as the number one channel in rural HSM, pushing down Zee Anmol, which had ruled the top spot earlier.

    Urban + Rural HSM

    Even after witnessing a fall in ratings, Star Plus continued to lead the Hindi general entertainment channel genre with 696376 Impressions (000s) against 720065 Impressions (000s) in last week while Zee TV maintained its second position with 636898 Impressions (000s) followed by Colors on third spot with 584678 Impressions (000s).

    Star India’s free to air channel Star Utsav grabbed the fourth position with 450259 Impressions (000s) and Life OK was at the fifth slot with 437569 Impressions (000s).

    Zee Anmol stood at sixth with 433515 Impressions (000s) followed by Sony Pal at number seven with 413606 Impressions (000s) and Sony Entertainment Television at number eighth with 359426 Impressions (000s). Sab TV on number nine with 358682 Impressions (000s) and Rishtey maintained its tenth spot with 289896 Impressions (000s).

    Rural HSM

    In week 29, Star Utsav toppled Zee Anmol and grabbed leadership position with 348824 Impressions (000s) followed by Zee Anmol  at second position with 329641 Impressions (000s) and Sony Pal on third slot with 313911 Impressions (000s). Zee TV maintained its fourth position with 280475 Impressions (000s).

    Star Plus garnered  fifth spot with 218160 Impressions (000s)  while Rishtey grabbed sixth spot with 204803 Impressions (000s) followed by Colors at number seven with 169977 Impressions (000s) and Life Ok which stood at eight with 150327 Impressions (000s).

    Big Magic grabbed ninth spot with 102056 while Sony Entertainment Television stood at tenth 100707 Impressions (000s).

    Urban HSM

    Star Plus garnered first position with 478215Impressions (000s) followed by Colors on second position with 414701 Impressions (000s) and  Zee TV with 356423Impressions (000s) stood at number three.  

    Zee TV bagged third place with 356423 Impressions (000s). Life OK grabbed the fourth spot with 287242 Impressions (000s) followed by Sab TV at fifth with 266242 Impressions (000s) and Sony entertainment television with 258719 Impressions (000s).

    In Urban HSM,  &TV maintained its number seven position with 114297 Impressions (000s) followed by Zee Anmol with 103873 Impressions (000s) on eighth and Star Utsavl bagged ninth spot with 101436 Impressions (000s).  Sony Pal   bagged tenth spot with 99695 Impressions (000s).

CNN News18 took the third berth with 127 Impressions (000s). NDTV 24×7 grabbed the fourth spot with 83 Impressions (000s) whereas News X sustained its fifth position with 66 Impressions (000s).

    CNBC TV 18 expanded its ratings securing its number one position with 103 Impressions (000s) as to 72 Impressions (000s) in week 28 followed by ET Now that secured the second slot with 67 Impressions (000s).  NDTV Profit and NDTV Prime with 25 Impressions (000s) and Bloomberg TV with 20 (‘000s) Impressions (000s)  took the third and fourth positions respectively.

    Hindi News

    Aaj Tak witnessed growth in its viewership and stood at the first spot with 78572 Impressions (000s) as compared to 73334 Impressions (000s) in week 28, while India TV took the second position with 74606 Impressions (000s).  India News sustained its third position with 53592 Impressions (000s) followed by ABP News securing the fourth position with 52640 Impressions (000s). News Nation took the fifth position with 49121 Impressions (000s).

    Hindi business news

    CNBC Awaaz saw an increase in the ratings at the first spot with 839 Impressions (000s) as compared to 733 Impressions (000s) in week 28.  Zee Business stood at the second spot with 666 Impressions (000s) as compared to 522 Impressions (000s) in last week.
