    MUMBAI: Doraemon has dethroned kids television long time favourite Motu Patlu and claimed the number one spot for itself as per Broadcast Audience Research Council (BARC) India’s all India (U+R) data for week 31 in NCCS All 4-14 Individuals category.

    Doraemon : Nobita’s Little Space War has acquired 641 (000s sums) impressions; beating Nick’s Motu Patlu In Alien World – Part I by only 3 points, as the latter has scored 638 (000s sums) impressions.

    The thin margin couldn’t secure Hungama the first spot in the top ranked channel list in the genre. Viacom 18’s Nick maintained the most watched channel title with 67400(000s sums) in spite of a slight drop in ratings from the previous week’s performance.

    Turner International’s Cartoon Network was yet again the second channel in the list securing 59786 (000s sums) impressions- a drop from the previous week’s 63251(000s sums).

    Its sister channel Pogo TV locked a viewership rating of 56721(000 sums) securing itself the third spot on the list followed by Hungama from Disney India on the fourth spot with 53475(000s sums) impressions. The list shared by BARC India concludes with Disney Channel at the fifth spot with 45985(000s sums) impressions. Pogo TV, Hungama, and Disney Channel showed some improvement in viewership ratings in Week 30.

    The top five most watched program list in the genre was lead by Doraemon : Nobita’s Little Space, as mentioned above.Motu Patlu In Alien World – Part I was close at heel on the second spot.

    Pogo TV’s Chhota Bheem Aur Krishna grabbed the third spot on the list with 567(000s sums) impressions, followed by its sister channel Cartoon Network’s Bhoot Raja Aur Ronnie with 477(000s sums) impressions on the fourth spot.

    Pogo TV’s Chhota Bheem Aur Chhalchhaaya was the fifth most watched program in the genre with 451(000s sums) impressions. Over all the genre saw a dip in viewership as compared to week 30.

    BENGALURU: The list of top 10 channels by ratings across channels by Broadcast Audience Research of India (BARC) had three channels from Star India – Star Plus, Star Utsav and Life OK, two each from the Essel group (Zee TV and Zee Anmol), the Sun Network (Sun TV and Gemini), Network 18’s (Colors and ETV Telugu). Sony Max marked its presence as the lone entrant from the Sony Pictures Networks India Private Limited (SPNIL) stable.

    Sun TV continued to dominate the ratings across all genres as per data for week 31 –Saturday 30 July to Friday 5 August 2016. Two other channels from the southern regional space, actually the Telugu space –Gemini TV and ETV Telugu joined the Tamil channel among the top 10 channels by ratings across genres during the period. The other channels within the list of top channels across channels were from the Hindi general entertainment channels (Hindi GEC) space

    Sun TV topped the list with 1030933 Weekly Impressions (000s) sum during week 31, far ahead of the next contender – Star Plus with 695115 Weekly Impressions (000s) sum which stood at second place. Zee TV with 640749 Weekly Impressions (000s) sum at third place was followed by Colors with 572518 Weekly Impressions (000s) sum at fourth place.

    Star Utsav followed at fifth place with 529638 Weekly Impressions (000s) sum with Sony MAX at the sixth spot with 515269 Weekly Impressions (000s) sum. Another Essel group channel – the free to air Zee Anmol came in at number 7 with 506715 Weekly Impressions (000s) sum.

    Gemini TV with 458000 Weekly Impressions (000s) sum was eighth followed by another Star India channel – Life OK with 433411 Weekly Impressions (000s) sum at ninth place. ETV Telugu followed Life OK at tenth place with 433019 Weekly Impressions (000s) sum.

    MUMBAI: In week 30, Star Plus continued to dominate the Hindi GEC genre while Zee TV maintained its position on the second slot in the urban plus rural Hindi speaking market. On the other hand, Star Utsav stayed firm at number one in the rural Hindi speaking market. Also, Star Plus ruled the urban HSM, as per the Broadcast Audience Research Council (BARC).

    Urban + Rural HSM

    Star Plus continued to lead the Hindi general entertainment channel genre with 685886 Impressions (000s) while Zee TV maintained its second position with 611276 Impressions (000s), followed by Colors in third place with 532339 Impressions (000s).

    Star India’s free to air channel Star Utsav grabbed the fourth position with 486363 Impressions (000s) and Zee Anmol got back to its fifth place with 471744 Impressions (000s).

    Life OK stood at sixth with 428199 Impressions (000s) followed by Sony Pal at number seven with 403285 Impressions (000s) and Sony Entertainment Television at number eight with 383937 Impressions (000s). Sab TV on number nine with 369043 Impressions (000s) and Rishtey maintained its tenth spot with 298741 Impressions (000s).

    Rural HSM

    In week 30, Star Utsav maintained its leadership position with 376906 Impressions (000s) followed by Zee Anmol  at second position with 362250 Impressions (000s) and Sony Pal on the third spot with 309097 Impressions (000s). Zee TV maintained its fourth position with 274163 Impressions (000s).

    Rishtey pushed Star Plus onto the sixth slot and garnered  fifth place with 218429 Impressions (000s) even as the former managed  217108 Impressions (000s) followed by Colors at number seven with 159629 Impressions (000s). Life Ok stood at eight with 147451 Impressions (000s) followed by  Big Magic at ninth place with 115308 impressions (000s) while Sony Entertainment Television stood tenth 107384 Impressions (000s).

    Urban HSM

    Star Plus garnered the pole  position with 468778 Impressions (000s) followed by Colors at second place with 372710 Impressions (000s) and Zee TV with 337113 Impressions (000s) stood at number three.

    Life OK grabbed the fourth spot with 280748 Impressions (000s) followed by Sony Entertainment Television at fifth with 276553 Impressions (000s) and Sab TV with 264731 Impressions (000s).

    In urban HSM,  &TV maintained its number seven position with 139318 Impressions (000s) followed by Zee Anmol with 109494 Impressions (000s) on eighth and Star Utsav bagged ninth spot with 109457 Impressions (000s).  Sony Pal  bagged tenth spot with 94189 Impressions (000s).

Discovery and Living Foodz continues to top respective spaces.

    Comedy Central climbed up the list dominating the genre with 223 Impressions (000s) followed by AXN at second berth with 160 Impressions (000s). Zee Café took the third spot with 153 Impressions (000s). 

    Star World stood at the fourth position with 132 Impressions (000s).  Colors Infinity SD with 73 Impressions (000s) grabbed the fifth position.

    English Movies

    Movies Now with an increase in ratings sustained the number one position with 3303 Impressions (000s) as compared to 3159 Impressions (000s) in week 29 followed by Star Movies with an increase in the ratings bagging the second position with 3159 Impressions (000s). Sony Pix secured its third place with 2563 Impressions (000s) followed by Zee Studio which grabbed the fourth place with 1628 Impressions (000s). HBO bagged the fifth position with 1484 Impressions (000s).

    Infotainment

    Discovery continues its leadership in the space with 5171 Impressions (000s), followed by National Geographic Channel with 3671 Impressions (000s) on second position.  History TV 18 grabbed third place with 3112 Impressions (000s).

    Animal Planet with 2785 Impressions (000s) and Nat Geo Wild secured fourth and fifth place respectively.

    Lifestyle

     Living Foodz stood on top position with 1915 Impressions (000s. Fix Life secured second spot with 712 Impressions (000s), followed by TLC on third place with 689 Impressions (000s). Food Food is on fourth position with 558 Impressions (000s), followed by Travel XP HD with 298 Impressions (000s) on last spot.

    In the English Business News genre, CNBC TV18 and ET Now observed increased ratings while NDTV Profit and NDTV Prime, Bloomberg TV saw a decline in viewership.

    According to week 30 of BARC India ratings, Hindi News genre witnessed mixed ratings this week.

    Times Now continued to dominate the genre with an increase in the ratings from 243 Impressions (000s) last week to 327 Impressions (000s) this week. CNN News18 toppled India Today Television taking the second position with 150 Impressions while India Today Television grabbed the third spot with 119 Impressions (000s). NDTV 24×7 took the fourth berth with 112 Impressions (000s). BBC World News entered the top 5 list at the fifth position with 56 (000s).

    CNBC TV18 continued at the number one position with 113 Impressions (000s) this week from 103 Impressions (000s) in this week. ET Now also saw a slight improvement with 101 Impressions (000s). NDTV Profit and NDTV Prime continued at its third position with 22 Impressions (000s). Bloomberg TV was on last spot with 8 Impressions (000s).

    Aaj Tak with an increase in ratings sustained its number one position with 80653 Impressions (000s) as compared to 78572 Impressions (000s) in the previous week. India TV grabbed the second spot with increase in ratings to 76225 Impressions (000s) from 73334 Impressions (000s) in week 29. India News garnered 51983 Impressions (000s) and was at third spot, while ABP News with 51228 Impressions (000s) was on fourth position. News Nation with a decrease in the ratings from 45695 Impressions (000s) was at fifth place

    Hindi Business News

    CNBC Awaaz maintained its first position with an increase in ratings from 839 Impressions (000s) in the previous week to 911 Impressions (000s) in week 30. The second spot was taken by Zee Business with 654 Impressions (000s) in comparison to 666 Impressions (000s) in week 29.
