    Vijay television Premiers Mookkuththi Amman a super hit movie which was released in 2020.  April 14 being a Tamil New Year Day, Star Vijay is all set for airing abundant special programs and blockbuster movies this Wednesday.

    Mookkuththi Amman was released in 2020 in Disney + Hotstar that had a phenomenal response and the movie was critically acclaimed all over by Tamil audience.
    The movie was directed by comedian actor RJ Balaji and a directorial debut.  Co-director by N.J. Saravanan.  The film stars Nayanthara, Urvasi, Sruthi Venkat, Madhu Mailankody, Abinaya, Moulee, Ajay Ghosh and many others.  

    The story revolves around a news anchor (RJ Balaji) joining along with the title character (Nayanthara) to expose a particular ‘Godman’ as fake.  The music was composed by Girish with lyrics written by Pa. Vijay.  The song Aadi Kuththu sung by the all-time eminent singer LR Eswari was popular among viewers.

    Mumbai: Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd (ZeeL) has announced the launch of its second Marathi movie offering – Zee Chitramandir, to further consolidate its presence in the Maharashtra market.

    Maharashtra is considered one of the key drivers for its regional growth housing popular TV content brands – Zee Marathi, Zee Talkies and Zee Studios Marathi. The network recently forayed into the regional music space as well, with the launch of music channel Zee Vajwa, which established its place within just four weeks of its debut.

    According to the company, the addition of Zee Chitramandir will further boost its reach by targeting four million Free Dish households in the category.

    Zee cluster head – north, west, and premium channels Amit Shah said, “Zee’s Marathi portfolio features strong content brands that have become a part of our consumer’s day to day life. The launch of Zee Chitramandir will further enhance our offering to the Marathi audiences, with the cluster covering 70 per cent reach in the market.

    The new channel boasts one of the largest movie catalogues in the category and aims to entertain audiences with some never-seen-before movie titles offering quality entertainment to the audiences in their native language. Marathi is the mother tongue of 80 per cent of the households in the region, and one in every three rural households has a Free Dish connection. The category is currently underserved with only three language channels, leaving a huge untapped potential available to capture, said the company in a media statement on Friday.

    Zee chief growth officer – advertisement revenue Ashish Sehgal said, “With the rural economy growing, income levels across strata are improving thereby leading to high consumption in the FTA markets. This is further attracting advertisers, who want to capture the potential in these markets. We are excited to bring a new Free Dish offering to cater to the large audience segment available in the Marathi free market.”

    With a rich library of 600+ popular movie titles, the channel Zee Chitramandir hopes to address the need for a quality Free Dish offering in the Marathi movie segment. It will be available to all Free Dish users starting Friday.

    MUMBAI: Viacom18 has brought on Sagnik Ghosh as business head, Colors Bangla. Ghosh will be taking over from Rahul Chakravarti who cemented the channel’s position as the third ranked GEC in the highly competitive Bengali market. He will be reporting to Viacom18 regional entertainment (Bangla, Odia, Tamil and Gujarati clusters) head Rajesh Iyer.

    A cross industry veteran with over two decades of experience panning Media and Entertainment, Advertising and BFSI industries, Sagnik, in his previous assignments, had led Star Jalsha and Star Bharat to leadership positions in their respective markets and genres.

    “Regional is an important growth driver for Viacom18 and West Bengal is an important market for us. I’d like to thank Rahul for his contribution and wish him the very best in his future endeavours,” said Iyer. “Sagnik brings three important aspects to this role – his knowledge of the Bengali entertainment industry, his understanding of consumer preferences and his marketing expertise which cumulatively will dial up both the brand and the business.”

    Ghosh added, “The Bengali broadcast entertainment market provides considerable opportunities and is known for its creative prowess for producing content that is often taken to other markets.     Prior to joining Viacom 18, Ghosh was with Star India as executive vice-president and business head, Star Jalsha and Jalsha Movies (Bengal cluster). In the Hindi speaking market, he led the brand revamp of Star Plus, and re-launched Life OK as Star Bharat and led it to Number 1 position. In West Bengal, he helped in the turnaround of Star Jalsha and got it back to leadership position. Prior to joining the media and entertainment industry, Ghosh worked with top BFSI brands like Axis Bank, HSBC etc.
