    TV9 Marathi to host inaugural Maha-Infra Conclave on 22 Feb

    Mumbai: TV9 Marathi is all set to host the inaugural Maha-Infra Conclave on 22 February. The conclave will highlight the key role infrastructure plays in aiding economic growth, while also addressing the state of infrastructure in Maharashtra and how it can drive growth for the region, ultimately helping in nation building.

    The event will be inaugurated by Maharashtra minister for urban development & public works (public undertaking) Eknath Shinde. Along with him, Subhash Desai (minister for industries & mining, Maharashtra), and Aditya Thackeray (minister for tourism & environment, Maharashtra) will also address the event and share their vision on how infrastructure development projects will fuel growth for the industry and tourism sector in the state.

    The policy push for mega infrastructure projects has opened several opportunities for the state. The conclave will provide a platform that will bring key policy makers and private sector leaders to draw an actionable agenda while articulating the positive impact these infra-development projects will have on the people of Maharashtra.

    The conclave will have the following sessions on various development projects in Mumbai metropolitan region (MMR) and rest of Maharashtra.

    World-class MMR – Focusing on infrastructure development in MMR region:  With mega projects like Mumbai Metro, Mumbai Coastal Road, Mumbai Trans Harbour Link and many others in action, the MMR region is set to witness a transformation in the way people travel across the city.

    Connecting Maharashtra – Connecting rural with urban via infrastructure: Large-scale projects like the Mumbai-Nagpur Prosperity Corridor will pave way for the development of industry, and tourism while generating employment and connecting the urban and rural areas.

    ‘Hith Maharashtracha’ – Impact of Infrastructural growth on development in various sectors

    Given the multiple road, rail and sea transportation projects being undertaken across the city, the Conclave will witness the presence of different government and private stakeholders, who will come together to highlight the importance of these projects, as well as the time-line for their completion and inauguration for public use.

    Mumbai: Colors Tamil will telecast the world TV premiere of “Thalli Pogathey” on 20 February at 4 p.m and 7 p.m. Indulekha Brigha Oil has come on board as special partner.

    Directed by R Kannan, “Thalli Pogathey” stars Atharvaa, Anupama Parameswaran and Amitash Pradhan in the lead roles and Aadukalam Naren, Kaali Venkat, Jagan, Vidyullekha Raman and RS Shivaji in supporting roles.

    The film showcases how equations change between a loving husband and wife when a former lover enters their lives.

    “I am ecstatic that this highly anticipated film is going to air on a popular channel like Colors Tamil,” said director Kannan. “We tried to take a different route to romance with Thalli Pogathey. Everyone in the team has put in immense efforts and I am sure that audiences will like our approach.”

    Star Jalsha leads viewership for eight consecutive weeks in West Bengal

    Mumbai: Bangla general entertainment channel Star Jalsha has maintained its leadership in the West Bengal market for eight consecutive weeks (week 51′ 2021 to week 6′ 2022), according to Broadcast Audience Research Council (Barc) India data.

    During this period the channel’s average minute audience (AMA) reached up to 398 million (West Bengal – urban+rural, week 4’ 2022), the data revealed. It reached an AMA of 184 million (WB – Urban) during the same period.

    The channel’s rating has been steadily increasing since the second week of 2022 (8-14 January) from 367 million AMA in week 2’ 2022. In the last week 6’ 2022, the ratings have stabilised at 392 million AMA.

    Star Jalsha has recently added two new fiction shows to its programming starting with “Gantchhora” that began airing on 20 December 2021 followed by “Anuraager Chowaa” on 7 February. The channel is launching a new show called “Guddi” on 28 February starting from 6 p.m onwards.

    Mumbai: To mark the occasion of ‘Rajasthani Bhasha Diwas’ on 21 February, Khamma Ghani Entertainment has launched a satellite general entertainment channel for the Rajasthani language – Gangaur Television. Out of 900+ on-air channels, Gangaur Television is the first and only TV channel in the Rajasthani language, the company said.

    Rajasthani language has set a benchmark on YouTube with more than 40+ music labels and 80+ singers/artists contributing to the world of music, releasing more than 500 fresh songs every year, said the statement. 

    Even the film industry is trying to revive with the support of the state government and annually 20 plus films are getting produced and released in theatres. Gangaur TV has a motto of offering entertainment purely in the Rajasthani language, the statement added.

    Manoranjan Group to launch Bhojpuri TV channel Manoranjan Prime

    Mumbai: Manoranjan Group has announced a new Bhojpuri TV channel Manoranjan Prime scheduled for the launch in March. The channel will cater to audiences in Bihar, Jharkhand and Uttar Pradesh, the media company said.

    Manoranjan Prime is a general entertainment channel that will showcase Bhojpuri films, TV shows and music. The channel will also telecast feature content from digital creators including YouTubers and social media influencers. The channel will provide an amalgamation of television and digital content for its viewers.

    The channel will be available on DD Free Dish and across all major multi-system operators (MSO) including cable operators and direct-to-home operators.

    “The Manoranjan Group is targeting the Bhojpuri speaking belt because of its rising potential,” said the statement. The group operates several channels such as Hindi movie channel Manoranjan TV, Punjabi movie channel Manoranjan Movies and Hindi GEC Manoranjan Grand over the years.

    “We are driving the next phase of expansion plans of the group in FM Radio/digital media and e-commerce,” said Manoranjan Group president Sahib Chopra. “Our vision is to make the organization a 360-degree media house with various verticals of Media and Entertainment in the next few years.The media landscape in India continues to expand rapidly and we are determined to leverage our current momentum in every way.”

    Creative Channel Advertising & Marketing was started in 1980 under the leadership of Babar Chopra. The company’s aim was to provide good content to their viewers which led to the beginning of Manoranjan Group and since then it has successfully stood out amidst its competitors.

    Mumbai: Colors Tamil on Wednesday announced the launch of its new primetime fiction show “Namma Madurai Sisters.” The show is set to be aired every Monday to Saturday at 7 p.m from 21 February. The channel has employed a 360-degree campaign across TV, print, OOH, and digital for the show’s promotion.

    Powered by Aroma Agmark Ghee, with Prithvi Inner Wears as special partners, the show starring Chaya Singh is a new-age tale of sisterhood filled with intense emotions and intriguing plotlines.

    Set in the backdrop of Madurai, “Namma Madurai Sisters” revolves around the life of four sisters, each with distinctive characteristics. The plot focuses on Indrani (essayed by Actor Chaya Singh), who is laden with family responsibilities at a young age after the girls lose their parents. In her pursuit to avenge the death of her parents and to protect her sisters, Indrani grows from a young, naïve town girl into a resilient woman. The story also captures the journey of the three younger sisters, Meghala (Sunitha), Bhuvana (Sankavi), and Kavya (Ira Agarwal). Deepak Kumar plays the male protagonist opposite Actor Ira Agarwal.

    Inspired by Aadu Puli Aattam – a traditional South Indian asymmetrical game of goats and tigers where the tigers ‘hunt’ the goats while the goats attempt to thwart the tigers, “Namma Madurai Sisters” also depicts familial rivalry between the sisters and their uncle Rajamanickam (played by Parthan) who attempts to wreak havoc in their lives at every opportunity, said the channel.

    Mumbai: TV9 Bangla has announced the onboarding of senior journalist Anirban Choudhury. A well-known face in the region, Choudhury will anchor the channel’s primetime 10 p.m show. 

    Choudhury will also manage the eastern region for News9 Plus, the soon-to-be-launched English OTT news service for the ‘GenFlix,’ said the media company. In his earlier on-air role, he has built a strong and loyal viewership for the primetime slot.

    “TV9 Bangla, within a year of its launch, has already assumed the thought leadership in the region,” commented Choudhury. “I want to further enrich the proposition by bringing on board fresh ideas with a new perspective and re-attain my supremacy at the 10 pm slot.     Sun TV Q3 revenue excluding IPL up 27.76% to Rs 975.16 crore

    Mumbai: Sun TV Network has posted its results for the third quarter of FY 2022. The media company’s revenue for the quarter, excluding the IPL, has increased by 27.76 per cent year-on-year to Rs 975.16 crore. Its overall revenues were at Rs 1033.10 crore and saw a growth of 6.25 per cent versus the same period year-on-year (31 December 2020).

    The EBIDTA for the quarter grew by 20.18 per cent at Rs 721.87 crore and profit before taxes grew marginally by 2.90 per cent over the corresponding quarter ended 31 December 2020.

    The profit after taxes (excluding the IPL) stood at Rs 437.89 crore up by 14.44 per cent YoY and the overall profit after taxes grew by 3.52 per cent to Rs 457.39 crores as against the corresponding quarter year-on-year.

    The total comprehensive income for the quarter was up by 3.52 per cent at Rs 457.20 crore YoY. The earnings per share for the current quarter grew by 3.52 per cent at Rs 11.61 as against Rs 11.21 for the corresponding quarter ended 31 December 2020.

    Sun TV’s board of directors has declared an interim dividend of Rs 2.50 per share (50 per cent) on a face value of Rs five per share.

    During the current quarter, Sun Pictures had released the blockbuster film “Annaatthe” starring superstar Rajinikanth.

    Mumbai: Colors Gujarati has added the kids’ shows “Motu Patlu” and “Gattu Battu” and mythological show “Shrimad Bhagwat Mahapuran” to its programming. 

    Starting from 7 February onwards, “Motu Patlu” will air at 5 p.m, “Gattu Battu” will air at 5.30 p.m and “Shrimad Bhagwat Mahapuran” will air at 6 p.m, respectively.

    “After the success of our fiction shows we are glad to bring some of the finest properties from our own network in our own language,” said Colors Gujarati business head Vipul Nagar. “Kids are a key viewership segment on television, and we hope it will grow stronger in times to come.
