    Warner Music India names Sujal Parekh as general manager, operations

    Mumbai: Warner Music India has announced that Sujal Parekh has been promoted to become general manager, operations for Warner Music India and other territories in the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC). He will report to Jay Mehta, managing director of Warner Music India and SAARC territories.

    In his new role, Sujal will drive Warner Music India’s sustainable and profitable growth, provide leadership in all aspects of fiscal management, help develop the company’s long-term business strategy, and act as an effective co-pilot for business.

    Sujal will focus on spearheading artist management, digital operations, legal affairs, publishing, live events, people initiatives, and strategic mergers and acquisitions.

    The announcement comes as Warner Music India is poised for strategic expansion, and it will leverage Parekh’s expertise to navigate the diverse and dynamic Indian music market.

    Sujal Parekh said: “I am excited to have this opportunity to spearhead Warner Music India’s comprehensive operations, ensuring that we deliver even more support to our artists and develop our amazing team.     Sujal has served as Warner Music India’s head of finance since February 2021, and been instrumental in propelling the company’s growth and nurturing crucial alliances.

    Prior to that, Sujal was associate vice president – finance at Bigtree Entertainment’s BookMyShow, India’s premier comprehensive entertainment ticketing applications and analysis solutions provider. While there, he handled many challenging assignments, including raising resources from domestic and global markets, corporate restructuring and regulatory matters.

    Mumbai: Shridhar Mishra has been onboarded as the CRO for News18 (Digital). Shridhar has joined from Zee Media Corp Ltd where he served as chief revenue officer- digital. He has also worked in a sales leadership role with Jagran New Media and the Asianet News Network.

    At Network18, Shridhar will lead all digital revenue initiatives for News18. He will drive aggressive growth for the direct and indirect inventory sales. He will be based out of our Noida/Gurgaon office and the existing direct, indirect sales and ad operation teams of News18 digital will align with him.

    Shridhar is from Uttarakhand. He lives in Delhi with his wife Pallavi and sons Shriaansh and Arnav. He is a professional table tennis player and loves travelling and meditation.

    In his latest interaction, Murthy while facing questions about the backlash surrounding his recommendation of a 70-hour work week, addressed the criticism and highlighted the hard work put in by the less privileged section in India, adding that people need to work hard in this country because poor farmers and factory workers work very hard, he said, “I rationalise it this way. When somebody has performed much better than me in their own field, I respect them and ask where they find me wrong in this. But I didn’t find it. A lot of my western friends, NRIs, and good people in India have called me and they are very happy about it. Those of us who received education at a very huge discount, thanks to subsidies from the government, owe it to the less fortunate citizens of India to work harder.”

    Mumbai: Existing vice president Kalli Purie of India Today Group was assigned additional charge as executive editor-in-chief of the group. She has been serving as vice president of the group since 2017. She is the daughter of Aroon Purie. In the internal communication in the company he wrote, ‘  I am designating her additional responsibility as executive editor in chief to being vice president chairperson of India Today Group.’

    In brief mail, Aroon Purie stated ‘ As you all know KP has been successfully heading the business and editing domains for a while. In line with her role, I would like to announce an additional designation for her as editor in chief of the India Today Group. This will not require any operational change for now.’

    She has been part of the group since 1996 heading from magazine, she also successfully served as Chief Operating Officer of the India Today Group Digital.

    Mumbai –  Times Group restructured the management-led editorial team recently. As per media reports, Times Network announced a new appointment of Navika Kumar to be Editor in Chief, Times Now, Times Now Navabharat with immediate effect from 28 December.

    Apart from Navika Kumar, the network announced the promotion of Ranjit Kumar, and Padmaja Joshi in the Times Network. Ranjit Kumar appointed as Managing Editor whereas Padmaja Joshi as Senior Executive Editor.

    Senior journalist Nikunj Dalmia has been elevated to Editor in Chief, ET Now, ET Now Swadesh. Madhavdas G was appointed as Pan India Input head.

    Times Network promoted veterans with the restructuring of the editorial department.
