    Mumbai: Noted Bhojpuri actor-singer and BJP MP Manoj Tiwari said, those in opposition who are planning to ‘uproot’ Narendra Modi, will themselves be ‘uprooted’ this time.

    He was replying to questions from Rajat Sharma in the show ‘Aap Ki Adalat’, which was telecast on 8 July on India TV. Tiwari was asked about RJD supremo Lalu Prasad asking people to “uproot” Modi. The BJP MP said, “Lalu Ji is not well, I want him to recover fully. But if somebody says we will uproot Modi, then I can only say, they themselves will be uprooted this time…If you want to uproot anything, uproot poverty, uproot corruption, uproot terrorism, uproot drug mafia, why do you want to uproot Modi?”

    Tiwari said, “A personality like the Prime Minister of Australia says, ‘Modi is the Boss’, and a prime minister of another country touches Modi ji’s feet. This is as good as the Australian PM praising every Indian, and some prime minister touching every Indian’s feet.” Tiwari said, he is preparing a song for 2024 elections, which says ‘Paanch Saal Aur Hamen Modi Ki Zaroorat Hai.”

    When Rajat Sharma pointed out one of his Bhojpuri songs in which he had appealed to people in Bihar to support Modi and Nitish Kumar, Tiwari replied, “This question should be directed at Nitish Ji, because it was he who left us.”

    Tiwari also spoke about his “professional rivalry” with another Bhojpuri star and BJP MP Ravi Kishan. He disclosed how on one movie, he was doing the role of an SP and Ravi Kishan was acting as a criminal. Tiwari said, “in the climax, the SP was supposed to beat the criminal, but Ravi Kishan insisted that he would also beat the SP. I told the director, how could an SP, armed with a gun and having policemen around him, get beaten by a criminal? Will it not amount to insulting an SP, if he is beaten by a criminal? The problem is, top stars sign movies, but during shooting when they realize that they would face such a situation, they raise objections. He (Ravi Kishan) was probably thinking it was me, Manoj Tiwari, who was beating him, but actually we were acting our roles.”

    Tiwari also narrated another incident about how Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan invited him to do a role in the movie ‘Ganga’  in which Ravi Kishan had done a major role.

     Tiwari also disclosed, for the first time, his relationship with former India captain M. S. Dhoni and Amitabh Bachchan. He narrated an incident in Koregaon, Pune, when Big B and he were shooting at one film set, and on the same day, news came about Dhoni becoming World No. 1 in rankings. It so happened that Dhoni was also at another film set in Koregaon, and when he was told over phone that Big B was coming to meet him, Dhoni said, ‘please don’t come, I am coming to meet Big B’. “This is the large-heartedness of two great men, one in Bollywood and the other in cricket”, Tiwari said.

    Mumbai: Major League Cricket (MLC) has announced a media rights partnership that will see the first-ever edition of the landmark competition air exclusively in India on Viacom18’s sports network. The multi-platform coverage will include live streaming on JioCinema and broadcast television coverage on Sports18, starting on Thursday, 13 July, when the Texas Super Kings take on the Los Angeles Knight Riders at Grand Prairie Stadium near Dallas, TX.

    MLC will feature top-class international talent playing alongside America’s best players for the Los Angeles Knight Riders, MI New York, San Francisco Unicorns, Seattle Orcas, Texas Super Kings and Washington Freedom. The inaugural season will be played in a round-robin format with the four best performing teams competing in a multi-game playoff and final round to decide a champion, to be crowned on July 30.

    “JioCinema continues to change the landscape of sports consumption, and with Major League Cricket, fans will watch their favourite T20 cricketers and cheer for teams affiliated to their favourite franchisees,” said Viacom18 Sports head of strategy, partnerships & acquisitions Hursh Shrivastava. “Indian viewers love T20 cricket, and we expect them to enjoy the action from the inaugural edition of the league across JioCinema and Sports18.”

Fans will witness a slew of their favourite IPL stars featuring in MLC.

    Kieron Pollard, Rashid Khan, Nicholas Pooran, Trent Boult, Dewald Brevis and Kagiso Rabada will represent MI New York.     The Seattle Orcas drafted former India U19 left-arm spinner Harmeet Singh as the first pick in the first-ever Domestic Draft for Major League Cricket. Joining Singh on the Orcas are two top international T20 exponents in Quinton De Kock and Mitchell Marsh. Sri Lankan spinner Wanindu Hasaranga, Proteas fast bowlers Anrich Nortje and Marco Jansen and hard-hitting Kiwi batsman Glenn Phillips will be joined by former India U19 bowler Saurabh Netravalkar as part of the Washington Freedom.

    Marcus Stoinis will bring in strong international and franchise cricket experience alongside fellow Australian Aaron Finch, who will lead the San Francisco Unicorns. In the draft, the Unicorns picked former New Zealand international Corey Anderson in the first round, followed up by England’s World Cup winner Liam Plunkett in the second. Pakistan duo Shadab Khan and Haris Rauf were recently announced as their final signings with Shane Watson as their head coach.

As per data for the all India 2+ target group, STAR Maa is the most watched channel in India with an average minute audience (AMA) of 2676.96(000). It was followed by Sun TV at 2433.65(000) AMA, STAR Plus at 2325.92(000) AMA, Goldmines at 1798.25000) AMA, and Dangal at 1760.88000) AMA.

    The average minute audience (AMA) is defined as the number of individuals within a target audience who viewed a televised “event,” averaged across minutes. In the Hindi-speaking market (HSM), STAR Plus emerged as the most-watched channel at 2248.27(000) AMA, followed by Goldmines at 1762.96(000) AMA, Dangal at 1752.9(000) AMA, SONY SAB at 1684.6(000) AMA and Colors at 1530.26(000) AMA.

    In the South market, STAR Maa was the most-watched channel at 2626.45(000) AMA, followed by Sun TV at 2408.41(000) AMA, Zee Telugu at 1700.83(000) AMA, STAR Vijay at 1530.72(000) AMA and Zee Kannada at 1389.99(000) AMA.

    In the Maharashtra/Goa market, Star Pravah was the most-watched channel at 1471.83(000) AMA, followed by Zee Marathi at 428.82(000) AMA, Colors Marathi at 424.45(000) AMA, SONY Sab at 408.91(000) AMA, and STAR Plus at 316.58(000) AMA.

    In the West Bengal market, STAR Jalsha was the most-watched channel with 921.06(000) AMA, followed by Zee Bangla at 763.54(000) AMA, Colors Bangla at 156.13(000) AMA, Jalsha Movies at 143.07(000) AMA and Colors Bangla Cinema at 121.24(000) AMA.

    In the megacities market, including Mumbai, New Delhi, Kolkata, Bengaluru and Chennai, Sun TV was the most-watched channel at 421.93(000) AMA followed by STAR Plus at 361.41(000) AMA, STAR Vijay at 328.98(000) AMA, Colors at 317.44(000) AMA and Zee Telugu at 283.38(000) AMA.

    Mumbai: Ahead of the players’ draft set to take place on 11 July in New Delhi for the inaugural season, Pro Panja League, Asia’s biggest arm-wrestling promotion, in partnership with Sony Sports Network launched the #LagaPanja campaign to promote ‘Bharat Ka Khel’. The thrilling campaign films, created by Pro Panja co-founders Parvin Dabas and Preeti Jhangiani, are being telecast on Sony Sports Network to excite viewers for the upcoming action-packed inaugural season.

    Panja (or armwrestling) is #BharatKaKhel in its true sense, having its reach across metropolitan as well as tier-two and tier-three cities. The hashtag #LagaPanja has been designed as a call for Indian sports fans to challenge their friends, family members, colleagues on the table.     Doordarshan to telecast India Tour of the West Indies in six languages across six TV channels

    Mumbai: India’s public broadcaster Doordarshan (DD) will telecast the upcoming India’s tour of the West Indies. The month-long bilateral series comprising two Tests, three ODIs, and five T20Is, is scheduled to take place from 12 July to 13 August.

    DD’s massive network will give viewers the choice to watch the games in their own language – with T20Is and ODI series being telecast in Hindi, English, Tamil, Telugu, Bangla and Kannada on DD Sports along with the network’s regional channels DD Podhigai, DD Saptagiri, DD Yadagiri, DD Bangla and DD Chandana. Test matches will be telecast on DD Sports. The primary telecast on DD Sports will be a combination of Hindi and English.

    The aggregate reach of all the channels telecasting the series is over 160 million. With its widest distribution network, the series will be available across the length and breadth of the country. This will be the most comprehensive coverage of an India bilateral cricket series by a free-to-air channel.

    Samskaara Entertainment Private Ltd. will be the agency exclusively responsible for selling the ad spots across the DD network for the marquee cricket series. This will be the first time team India will be in action after the loss at the WTC final, and the team will look to start off the new WTC cycle on a winning note.
