  • Celebrate this festive season with “CHRISTMAS WITH THE KRANKS”

    MUMBAI: The Kranks have always celebrated a picture-perfect Christmas.

    But with their only daughter away from home on her Peace Corps assignment, Nora (Golden Globe® winner Jamie Lee Curtis, The Kid & I, Freaky Friday) and Luther (Golden Globe® winner Tim Allen, The Shaggy Dog, The Santa Clause 2) are suffering from empty nest syndrome and decide to skip Christmas in favor of a Caribbean cruise.

    As the Kranks are preparing for their Christmas Day departure, they get a call from their daughter, who announces that she is coming home for Christmas after all.

    Suddenly, all hell breaks loose and hilarity ensues as the Kranks scramble to put together their annual Christmas Eve party and a normal, highly festive holiday in just a few hours.

  • Pakistan v West Indies 1st ODI live on Ten Sports

    MUMBAI: Pakistan will be looking to build on their success in the Test series as they take on the West Indies in the first ODI on Tuesday, live and exclusively on Ten Sports.

    The home team have had a turbulent year but the last month has all been good with a two nil victory in the test series and Mohammad Yousuf breaking Sir Viv Richards long standing record for most runs in a calendar year.

    The visitors will look to their recent good performances in the Champions Trophy to lift them after the Test defeats. In that tournament they gained victories over Australia, India and South Africa to get them to the final but then found the Aussies just too good for them.

    As well as the disappointment of losing the Test series the tourists will also have to cope without the services of both Ramnaresh Sarwan and Dwayne Bravo who are out of the series due to a broken foot and personal reasons respectively.

    On home soil Pakistan will be favourites to gain victory in the opening match but they know they will have to perform to their best to make sure they get the upper hand.

    All the action will be live on Ten Sports starting at 11-15 IST.

    The pixel-happy production company Blue Sky follows its successful feature Ice Age with more animated antics in Robots. Rodney Copperbottom (voiced by Ewan McGregor) is a talented inventor who hopes to make his fortune by moving to Robot City and working among the nuts and bolts of the robotics industry. Rodney fantasizes about building robots for his boyhood hero and master inventor Big Weld (Mel Brooks), but when he meets him, Rodney’s dream threatens to turn rusty.

     

    Big Weld reveals that his company is now being run by the evil Phineas T. Ratchet (Greg Kinnear), a merciless moneymaker who wants to rid the world of the antiquated robots that clutter up the streets of Robot City. This leaves Rodney’s aspirations needing a major oil change, and with little chance of finding work, he feels about as useful as a broken spare part.

     

    So he takes to the streets, where he finds some unlikely salvation in a group of robots lead by Fender (Robin Williams). Fender urges Rodney to help save them from the scrap heap, while Ratchet and his company create threatening new policies on robot reconstruction. The ensuing action leads to a breathtaking set of adventures in the futuristic city.

    A fun, dizzying delight, ROBOTS benefits from the many voices of Robin Williams, who is the perfect comic foil to Ewan McGregor’s central character. The special effects are masterfully handled, and the rendering of Robot City is a true sight to behold. Robots presents fast-paced animated entertainment at its finest.

  • NOKIA announces ‘Star Cast’ for the NOKIA new year’s eve in Mumbai

    MUMBAI: Nokia today announced an exciting line up of celebrity artists who will be performing at Nokia New Year’s Eve – a global music event to be held across 5 countries. As a part of the India celebrations, some of the leading Bollywood actors, music maestros & international artists will come together to perform in Mumbai’s Andheri Sports Complex on December 31, 2006. The artist line up for Nokia New Year’s Eve (NNYE) in Mumbai includes, “The Mozart of Madras”, AR Rahman, heart throb of Indian youth – Priyanka Chopra and dancing sensations of Bollywood, Koena Mitra and Shahid Kapoor.

Saturdays will see a roundup of the best of Radio City Musical – E – Azam that week. The celebrity RJ will also perform for Radio City listeners during the week.

    Besides taking song requests and chatting with fans that call into Radio City, what sets this program aside is the fact that requests will be sung live by the singers in the studio! Adding to this Radio City 91.1 FM will dedicate the entire day to the star music personality, playing his/her best songs, and engaging listeners with trivia and anecdotes from their personal lives.
