    Mumbai: Broadcast Audience Research Council (Barc) India has released currency data for week 51, i.e., 17 December to 23 December. As per data for the all-India 2+ target group, Star Plus is the most watched channel in India with an average minute audience (AMA) of 2470.31 (000). It was followed by Sun TV at 2403.69 (000) AMA, Star Maa at 2146.2 (000) AMA, Goldmines at 1993.18 (000) AMA, and Colors at 1901.15 (000) AMA.

    The average minute audience (AMA) is defined as the number of individuals within a target audience who viewed a televised “event,” averaged across minutes.

    In the Hindi-speaking market (HSM), Star Plus emerged as the most watched channel at 2371.04 (000) AMA, followed by Goldmines at 1966.47 (000) AMA, Dangal at 1881.47 (000) AMA Colors at 1851.25 (000) AMA and Star Pravah at 1534.69 (000) AMA.

    In the South market, Sun TV was the most watched channel at 2383.16 (000) AMA, followed by Star Maa at 2095.3 (000) AMA, Zee Kannada at 1602.61 (000) AMA, Zee Telugu at 1375.5 (000) AMA, and Star Vijay at 1313.86 (000) AMA.

    In the Maharashtra/Goa market, Star Pravah was the most watched channel at 1518.51 (000) AMA, followed by Colors Marathi at 479.44 (000) AMA, Zee Marathi at 449.74 (000) AMA, Sony SAB at 364.96 (000), and Golmines at 362.87 (000) AMA.

    In the West Bengal market, Star Jalsha was the most watched channel with 1150.61 (000) AMA followed by Zee Bangla at 882.18 (000) AMA, Jalsha Movies at 168.68 (000) AMA, Colors Bangla at 143.27 (000) AMA and Colors at 131.54 (000) AMA.

    In the megacities market, including Mumbai, New Delhi, Kolkata, Bengaluru, and Chennai, Colors was the most watched channel at 498.8 (000) AMA followed by Sun TV at 432.77 (000) AMA, Star Plus at 400.25 (000) AMA, Star Vijay at 288.1 (000) AMA and Star Pravah at 280.41 (000) AMA.

    Mumbai: realme announced its collaboration with Warner Music India to release its latest song, ‘Naya Nazariya.’ The song coincides with the brand spirit of “Dare to Leap” that realme has always emphasised, reinforcing the brand DNA with music.

    Produced by realme Music Studio, the latest song, ‘Naya Nazariya’ is sung by the musician and performer King.

    The new song ‘Naya Nazariya’ is the perfect way to step into 2023, as it packs powerful beats and lyrics encouraging the youth to enjoy life the way they want to and not get held down by cliches. The track opens with a message to the youth to not give up and work towards a new vision of life.

    The new track sits at the centre of realme’s campaign for the realme 10 Pro series launch, “New Vision,” which promotes a new way of thinking among the youth that embraces a larger vision of making conscious life choices. According to the brand, there has been an abstract trickle-down effect of the new vision in the youth over the years, as they claim rather unusual new year resolutions demonstrating the mind shift towards a new vision and a new way of thinking.

    Like King, realme too regards its fans as among its strongest pillars of support, and both embrace a “Dare to Leap” attitude that does not accept the status quo and seeks to inspire people. Malavika Mohanan, a well-known actress, is depicted in the song embracing her true self while posing with a burger rather than just being a glam face for her online audience.     Mumbai: Viacom18 Sports will continue to bring the biggest stars from the recently concluded FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 to JioCinema and Sports18 viewers.

    LaLiga, Ligue1, and Serie A will be streaming live on JioCinema for free as club football action returns to Europe. Matches from these leagues will also continue to air on Sports18.

    After locking horns in the FIFA World Cup final, Golden Boot winner Kylian Mbappe and Golden Ball winner Lionel Messi will come together alongside other sensational players for Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) in Ligue 1. The French club’s fixture on 29 December is likely to also feature World Cup stars like Brazil’s Neymar Jr. and Morocco’s Achraf Hakimi. 

    La Liga will see the return of 2022 FIFA World Cup winners such as Rodrigo De Paul for Atlético de Madrid and Alejandro Gomez for Sevilla FC, as well as silver medalist French players such as Ousmane Dembele for FC Barcelona and Antoine Griezmann for Atlético de Madrid.

    The Serie A is among the most competitive leagues in the world and will see FIFA World Cup winners Angel di Maria and Paulo Dybala battle it out for Juventus FC and A.S. Roma respectively. French stars like Adrien Rabiot will return to action for Juventus while Theo Hernandez will return for A.C. Milan on 4 January 2023 as they vie to conquer Italy through the second half of the season.

    Ligue1 will return to our TV, smartphone, and tablet screens first, as competition will resume on 28 December with AC Ajaccio facing Angers. LaLiga kick-off on 29 December with a match-up between Girona and Rayo Vallecano. The Serie A resumes in the new year on 4 January with a clash between Salernitana and reigning champions A.C. Milan. Sassuolo faces Sampdoria at the same time.

    Mumbai: Art-E MediaTech Pvt. Ltd. bagged the social media management mandate for realme smartphones. The mandate was awarded after a multi-agency pitch and will be managed by the agency’s Delhi branch.

    The agency will be responsible to upscale realme’s digital presence by formulating & executing social media strategies, cross-medium communication strategies, and influencer marketing strategies to build a stronger brand voice.

    Star Sports Network to air India vs Sri Lanka three-T20 International series

    Mumbai: Star Sports Network is set to launch a massive slate of cricket programming in the new year. The Men in Blue kick off the new year with a string of crucial matches against Asia Cup 2022 champion Sri Lanka.

    Viewers and fans will be treated to three T20 Internationals against Sri Lanka with exclusive action on the Star Sports Network and Disney+ Hotstar beginning from 3 January 2023, 7 p.m. onward.

    Created and conceptualised by the in-house team at Disney Star, the broadcaster has released the promo for the tournament that puts fans at the core of the film.

    The promo features two ardent fans, Madhu and Bala, as well as cricketer Hardik Pandya. The fans start off as tour guides for the India-Sri Lanka tour in a comical effort to get tickets from Pandya to watch the match live. Both Madhu and Bala are concerned with the pedigree of the Asian Champions when they tour India for the T20I series, but Pandya reassures them that even though the Lankan Lions will be on the prowl, the jungle belongs to the Indians, and there’s no better feeling than playing at home.

    Sony BBC Earth sets new benchmarks for 2023!

    Mumbai: Sony BBC Earth celebrated its fifth anniversary in 2022 with a commitment to provide its audience with inspiring, thought-provoking, and engaging content.

    This year, the channel made its audience feel alive by delivering innovative programmes coupled with intriguing initiatives.

    Let’s take a look at the major initiatives introduced and the significant highlights for the year as 2022 draws to a close.

    The fifth-year anniversary

    With a tagline of “Make Every Moment Meaningful,” the brand launched an anniversary-special 360-degree campaign that included a host of activities. On Instagram, Sony BBC Earth announced a user-generated contest titled #5YearsOfLife, inviting people to share how they have added meaning to someone’s life through reels using the brand’s audio.

    Taking the excitement a notch higher, Instagram filters were built using augmented reality. The filter worked when users pointed their cameras towards the Sony BBC Earth logo (on-air, web, print, and outdoor), and their screens came alive with animated animal figures. This was complemented with a property called “5 Years 5 Mega Shows,” which gave viewers a chance to vote for their favourite movies, which were then aired on Sony BBC Earth.

    Tentpole show premieres

    Sir David Attenborough’s Green Planet from the Planet series was launched on the channel. The channel aligned the promotional phase of the show with Earth Day, where the “Green Planet” campaign was announced. To engage people, Sony BBC Earth set up a “Green Planet” insulation – an Earth exhibit using plants—at Phoenix Market City.

    During this three-day activation, people received a miniature sapling as a small and meaningful gift for sharing their efforts towards a green planet. It was followed by a workshop by eminent plantfluencer Ann Mathew on ways to upkeep indoor plants and the benefits of home gardening. The miniature saplings were also given to school kids to inculcate the idea of taking care of plants.

    Sony BBC Earth premiered the second season of their marquee property, Frozen Planet, in India. A multi-city screening was organised across Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore, and Chennai. Mumbai witnessed a special star-studded screening with celebrities such as Makarand Deshpande, Jameel Khan, Saumya Tandon, Deepak Dobriyal, Shivin Narang, Rajshree Thakur, Vidyut Xavier, Sushant Singh, Amrita Prakash, and Priyamvada Kant, amongst the rest. Additionally, a user-generated contest was launched, and the winners were given access to the special celebrity screening.

    Riding on the topicality of the James Webb telescope, the channel premiered the James Webb: The $10 Billion Space Telescope show. It gave the viewers a walkthrough of the most powerful astronomical observatory on the planet and showcased the making of the $10 billion glittering space jewel.

    Brand IPs

    Sony BBC Earth launched the second edition of ‘Young Earth Champions’ with renowned actor and environmentalist Jim Sarbh and professor Amritanshu Shriwastav from IIT Bombay. This year’s contest was themed around the conservation of the planet’s resources: water, land, wildlife, forests, and energy. The top 10 winners received a chance to virtually interact with Jim and the professor about their ideas and exchange thoughts about sustainability.

    This year’s digital IP, “Earth in Focus,” which was launched on the photography day, received a phenomenal response, with a 50 per cent increase in entries compared to last year. The theme revolved around seeking the ‘Thrill of Life” further divided into subcategories of landscape, adventure, and wildlife. The entries were judged by award-winning wildlife photographer Rathika Ramasamy.

    The channel also came back with yet another season of its school contact program, ‘Feel alive hours.’ Along with reaching out to schools, holding live sessions with experts, and organising DIY experiments, they further launched an inter-school quiz contest. This contest allowed children to represent themselves and their schools by displaying their general knowledge to the rest of the world. The property kickstarted in December and will go on till the next year.

    On-ground integration

    In an effort to be present amongst the brightest minds and engage with college students, Sony BBC Earth collaborated with Narsee Monjee College’s mega cultural festival, ‘Umang.’ The channel took complete charge of the waste management for the festival and introduced reversal vending machines that awarded those who helped them make the festival a zero-waste festival. The channel helped dispose of 1,394 kg of waste for the event.

    The channel is partnering with IIT Bombay’s ‘Mood Indigo’ as the sustainability partner for the festival. Across the four-day event, the channel will be putting up hard-hitting messages across the campus to make students aware of the hazards of the plastic footprint in India.

    Mumbai: Viacom18 Sports is the official broadcast partner of the fifth edition of Tata Open Maharashtra. The tennis tournament will be airing live on Sports18 – 1 SD, Sports18 – 1 HD and JioCinema.

    The Tata Open Maharashtra, which returns to the opening week of the ATP calendar, will be held at the Balewadi Stadium in Pune from 31 December to 7 January.

    The upcoming edition will feature some of the biggest stars from the ATP Tour, including former Grand Slam champion Marin Cilic, last year’s finalist Emil Ruusuvuori and four other Top-50 players along with 11 top-100 players in the singles main draw.

    “We are thrilled to welcome Viacom18 Sports on board. In a short period, Sports18 and JioCinema have caught the attention of fans across the country by bringing in world-class sporting action. I am confident that this association will take the tournament to greater heights,” said Tata Open Maharashtra tournament director Prashant Sutar.
