    Mumbai: Sahara India Group founder Subrata Roy Sahara, bid farewell to the world at the age of 75 on November 14. As the news of Subrata Roy’s demise spread, a wave of mourning swept through the business world. Popularly known as ‘Saharasri,’ Sahara initiated his business journey from Gorakhpur, laying the foundation of ‘Sahara India Pariwar’, which later illuminated the lives of millions of families. In memory of Saharasri, a film based on his life will be aired on Bharat Express News channel on November 23 at 8 PM, followed by a humble tribute.

    Bharat Express chairman Upendrra Rai was closely associated with Saharasri. Upon hearing the news of Saharasri’s demise, Rai was deeply moved. His was a multifaceted persona that drew both admirers and critics. The metamorphosis from Chandan to Subrata Roy, the evolution of Subrata Roy into Subrata Roy Sahara, and ultimately the emergence of Sahara Shri is a singular and emotionally poignant journey. I consider it my duty to unveil the real man behind the regal and glamorous image—a person untouched by the surrounding glitterati, leading a life of detachment akin to that of a hermit. Depth of Love and passion being his two greatest traits often misunderstood by some. I had the good fortune of conversing with Sahara Shri just 120 hours before his demise. It was surprising to witness how unfazed he was by the inevitability of death even at this stage. Rarely have I encountered anyone accepting this ultimate reality of life with such sangfroid. This movie, scheduled to be broadcast on Bharat Express, serves as a humble tribute from both myself and the Bharat Express News Network to the departed soul.”

Through Sahara India, the company reached every household in the country, and Saharasri’s influence extended beyond the borders of the nation, even reaching London. The stature of ‘Saharasri’ was such that many dignitaries from politics to Bollywood and the sports world frequented his presence. Many of them shared a good friendship with him. At one time, a job in Sahara Group was seen as akin to a government job. People dreamed of being associated with this company.

    Now Saharasri is no more, but as long as he was in this world, he always remained close to his admirers.     Mumbai: Over the past 10 years, tiger conservationists have been making strides in increasing wild tiger populations. However, these animals may come into conflict with the communities living in their territories, presenting dangers to humans and tigers alike. In the next episode of Mission Tiger, senior international correspondent Will Ripley reports on conservation efforts in India and Nepal and, traverses the jungles of Thailand, hearing the stories of the people conserving tiger habitats and preventing human-wildlife conflict.

    CNN travels to Madhya Pradesh, known as India’s tiger state. Here, a 2,000 square mile corridor of forest that joins Kanha Tiger Reserve with Pench Tiger Reserve is essential for the tiger population. However, the corridor is also home to around 600,000 people, placing them and their livelihoods at risk of tiger attacks. Piyush Yadav, a conservation technology fellow at resolve introduces the trailguard AI-based camera system which captures images, identifies the subject and sends these images to forest rangers. Forest rangers then use this information to warn villages of tigers in their area, creating an early alert system to protect not just humans, but the tigers as well.

    CNN then goes to Nepal, where humans and tigers co-exist in the Khata Corridor, an area of around 80 square miles joining Bardia National Park in Nepal with Katarniaghat Wildlife Sanctuary in India. The coexistence between tigers and humans in the corridor is complex. Increasing wild tiger populations and humans encroaching on their habitats has led to more tiger attacks, yet homestay owners highlight how the growing tiger population attracts tourists and drives the local economy. Umesh Paudel, a wildlife researcher for Nepal’s National Trust for Nature Conservation, emphasises the importance of investing in community development in order to manage this human-wildlife conflict.  

    CNN also visits Thailand to explore the Western Forest Complex – 7,000 square miles of protected woodland that is home to much of Thailand’s wild tiger population. Ripley starts his journey at Khao Kho Wildlife Breeding Center and learns how the facility breeds vulnerable species like Sambar deer. These deer are released into the wild to recover their population in the ecosystem, filling a gap in the food chain, and hopefully lead to a boost in the tiger population as their natural prey. Ripley then joins WWF Thailand as they track a tiger in the Mae Wong National Park.

The highly anticipated final clash between cricket powerhouses India and Australia has not only etched itself into the chronicles of sporting history but has also become the most-watched event ever on both linear TV and digital streaming. With an astounding reach of 30 Crore for the live broadcast on TV, Star Sports Network ensured that cricket enthusiasts across India were glued to their television screens, making it the most watchedTelevision event ever. The live TV broadcast for the tournament garnered 422 billion minutes of TV watch time making it the most watched ICC Men’s World Cup in the history of the event. The final between India Vs Australia delivered a peak concurrency of 13 crore which surpassed the previous highest peak concurrency in the tournament with India Vs Pakistan at 7.5 crore and India Vs New Zealand at 8 crore. Disney Star left no stone unturned in bringing the grandeur of the World Cup to fans in India and across the globe, showcasing its unwavering dedication to delivering unparalleled sporting content.

    The streaming arm of Disney Star broke its own record five times through the tournament to witness a peak concurrency of 5.9 crores for the final, solidifying its position as the go-to destination for cricket enthusiasts seeking a seamless and immersive viewing experience. The platform surpassed global streaming records across all formats of cricket at the beginning of the tournament with the peak concurrency of 3.5 crore viewers during the India Vs Pakistan match.     Mumbai: Colors Tamil, Viacom18’s Tamil entertainment channel presents the captivating comedy ‘Appatha’ this Sunday, November 26, as part of its ‘Movie of the Month’ series.

    The family drama, with special partner ‘Gold Winner – Muppathu Varuda Nambikkai’, stars legendary actor Urvashi and will mark the world television premiere of the movie. To be aired at 2.00PM, ‘Appatha’ is Urvashi’s 700 film. Written and directed by Priyadarshan, the movie is produced by Jyoti Deshpande, Suresh Balaje and George Pius.     ‘Appatha’ takes viewers into the world of Kannamma, also known as Appatha who has spent all her life in the village of Kaayilanpatti. She raises her son all by herself after losing her husband even as she tries to make a name for herself with her business. Strong and fearless, her one and only true fear is her fear of dogs. Many years later, Kannamma tries to reconnect with her estranged son, who has settled down in Chennai. Everything seems fine until the family goes on a vacation, leaving Kannamma to keep an eye on the family dog Zeus.

    In a series of hilarious developments, the duo goes from trying to stay away from each other to becoming nearly inseparable. The film stars Urvashi and Aruldoss in the lead roles and boasts of an ensemble cast, including Amit Bhargav, Kaveri Jha, Meghali, Halam, Sidharth Babu, Semmalar Annam, and Y. G.
