    MUMBAI: Sony MAX2 will host a special segment of Lights, Camera, Kissey on 28th September 2019 to pay a special tribute to Hrishikesh Mukherjee who is largely regarded as one of the greatest filmmakers of his era. The writer / director who symbolized the ‘middle-class man’ through his characters is recognized for his slice-of-life movies, many of which won several accolades. The upcoming episode of Lights Camera Kissey will pay a tribute to Hrishikesh Mukherjee with interesting trivia and unheard stories from his 1983 film Rang Birangi which also saw Parveen Babi’s last performance of her career.

    Hrishikesh Mukherjee fondly known as Hrishi da made his directorial debut with Dilip Kumar starrer Musafir in 1957 went on to direct over 40 movies in a career spanning close to 50 years. He was the directorial mastermind behind several iconic films like Satyakam, Chupke Chupke, Anupama, Anand, Abhimaan, Guddi, Gol Maal, Majhli Didi, Chaitali, Aashirwad, Bawarchi, Kissi Se Na Kehna and Namak Haraam amongst many others.

    Rang Birangi was one of his most memorable movies where a meddling friend whose attempt to rekindle the spark in his friend's relationship with his wife leads to complications in their lives. The story goes into a comical turn of events which are bound to keep audiences laughing endlessly. It is an iconic film that witnessed Amol Palekar and Parveen Babi share the screen for the first time.

    The man behind the lens was a legend, one that will always be remembered for his humility and versatile storylines and Shekhar Suman will be throwing some light on this in the upcoming episode of ‘Lights Camera Kissey’.

    Eminent actor and prolific storyteller, Shekhar Suman, will take audiences on a trip down memory lane, sharing some behind the scene, unheard stories that haven’t yet seen the light of the day!     MUMBAI: A heartbreak can impact anyone and leave a mark that could live on forever. Kabir Singh is a fine example of a heartbreak gone wrong. Gearing up to be Sony MAX’s World Television Premiere, Kabir Singh, Bollywood’s biggest blockbuster of the year will premiere on Sony MAX on 29th September 2019 at 12pm. Kabir Singh starring one of India’s biggest heartthrobs Shahid Kapoor and actress Kiara Advani, is the highest grossing Bollywood movie of 2019 and will premiere on Sony MAX this month.

    The movie encapsulates the heartening love story of Kabir and Preeti as they embark on a tumultuous journey and face various obstacles in their love life.  Written and directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, Kabir Singh is a remake of the Telugu hit ‘Arjun Reddy’. Starring Shahid Kapoor and Kiara Advani, the film gets into the flaws and impact of a rough relationship and an aggressive young man. 

    The film takes the audience through the lives of a house surgeon of Delhi Institute of Medical Sciences, Kabir Singh (Shahid Kapoor) and a first-year student, Preeti Sikka (Kiara Advani) who fall in love. Their love blossoms over the years but Preeti’s father (Anurag Arora) is against the relationship. He forcefully tries to get Preeti married to someone else which sends Kabir on a downward spiral of alcohol and drug abuse threatening his career, life and love. Will Kabir and Preeti be able to be together? Or will their love story remain incomplete?

Get ready for an action-packed roller coaster ride this Saturday Night with the World Television Premiere of Blank on 21st September at 8 pm only on &pictures – Naye India ka Blockbuster Movie Channel. This edge of the seat entertainer narrates the tale of an Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) officer, who finds himself in a life and death situation with a baffling case. Directed by debutant Behzad Khambata, the movie features Bollywood’s macho man Sunny Deol along with the newcomer Karan Kapadia, Karanvir Sharma and Ishita Dutta in pivotal roles. A compelling action thriller, the movie promises to keep the audience intrigued, right from the word go!

    Commenting about her role, Ishita Dutta said, “Blank is my first attempt at the action genre and was also the reason I took up this role. Having grown up watching Sunny sir’s movies, never did I imagine that I would be working with him one day. The amount of energy and hard work that he puts in his work is phenomenal. Playing the character of a cop was quite challenging because of the action sequences one has to perform but Sunny sir and director Behzad kept encouraging and guiding me throughout, which made it a little easier.  This movie marks the debut of Karan Kapadia and I must say he is a complete surprise package. The way he delivers his scenes, one would not think that it’s his first movie. Working with such a talented team was an enriching experience.     Debutant Karan Kapadia said, “Blank is an unusual story where I play a suicide bomber who suffers from memory loss. While it took me a long time to get the role, it was an experience I totally enjoyed. After working with Sunny Sir I can proudly say that life has come full circle as I met him when I was a kid. It was surreal to share screen space with him and I only hope to be good and consistent in my upcoming projects. As for the song with Akshay, it wasn’t decided till two weeks before we shot it. He agreed to do it only after he saw rushes of the film; it was his way of wishing ‘good luck’ to me. Everyone around has been so encouraging and I hope that the audience will be able to catch the World Television Premiere on &pictures.”

    Based on a terror plot, the film showcases the story of Haneef (Karan Kapadia) who is held captive by the police at the hospital as they find a ticking bomb attached to his chest. After a lot of tests, the doctors discover that if Haneef’s heart stops beating, the bomb will explode activating the other 23 bombs at different places. Scared by the thought of this, the police calls ATS chief SS Dewan (Sunny Deol) to investigate this case further. On interrogating Haneef, who is suffering from partial memory loss, Dewan starts to suspect that he is a suicide bomber and a part of a conspiring terror group. But what is the actual truth is for viewers to unravel with the premiere of Blank.

    With thrilling action sequences, Sidhu’s chase to stop the 24 bombs from detonating and Haneef’s memory loss, forms the crux of Blank’s storyline. While the movie is Karan Kapadia’s debut film, it also features a special cameo by Karan’s brother in law Akshay Kumar, who will be sharing the screen space in a special song called 'Ali Ali' .

While our rendition of the movie is slightly different from the actual one with a modern day twist to it. Playing the role of Laila was challenging but an enriching experience as well for me. It took me some time to open up but with the help of Imitiaz and Sajid sir I was able to get into the skin of my character.     While there are many adaptations of Laila Majnu’s classic love story, the team of brothers Sajid and Imitiaz Ali give it a modern and contemporary spin. Laila (Tripti Dimri) lives in her own sweet world, dreaming of ‘the special one' who will love her till death. On a quest to find the right one, she meets the handsome hunk, Qais (Avinash Tiwary). The story proceeds to a romantic intimacy developing between the two, against the age-old contention between their families. Their crazy romance soon becomes the talk of the town, which eventually causes problems between Qais and Laila’s family leading to them getting separated.

    MUMBAI: Zee Action – India’s one-stop destination for action movies, will air the ultimate battle of the robots ‘Ra.One’ on Saturday, 14th September at 8pm. Directed by Anubhav Sinha, and featuring Shah Rukh Khan, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Arjun Rampal and debutant Armaan Verma in the lead, the movie saw King Khan in a suit-clad saviour avatar with neon blue contacts. The movie takes the classic good-versus-evil theme and gives it a spin with men in masks. Critically acclaimed and well received by the audience, Ra.One saw the international R&B singer Akon collaborate and create Chammak Challo – a song that made fans swoon over Kareena Kapoor Khan.  

    The film narrates the life of Shekhar Subramanium (Shah Rukh Khan), a gaming designer and expert who aims to be his son Prateek’s (Armaan Verma) hero. With this as his sole intention, he creates a three level game wherein the villain is more powerful than the protagonist and names the characters Ra.One and G.One respectively. While G.One is given Shekhar’s features, Ra.One is a shape-shifter. After the final tests are conducted and the game is launched, the impatient Prateek insists on playing the game immediately. Registered under the user ID ‘Lucifer’ he plays the game and reaches level 2. He is however interrupted thus leaving Ra.One agitated that a player has survived in the game so far. Hell-bent on killing him, he escapes from the game's virtual world and enters the real world, where he kills Shekhar and his team. Left with no alternative, the family is forced to bring out G.One from the virtual world to defeat Ra.One and protect them.

This Saturday, 31st August at 8 pm, get ready to dance to the tunes of the newest cop in the B-town – ‘Simmba’ with &pictures – Naye India Ka Blockbuster Movie Channel’s newest property ‘Saturday Premiere Nights’. The box office hit movie Simmba traces the journey of a fun yet corrupt police officer, whose motto in life is to do beyimaani with full imaandaari and how his outlook takes a 360-degree turn after an unfortunate incident. Director Rohit Shetty helmed action flick features Ranveer Singh as Simmba, Sara Ali Khan as Shagun, Sonu Sood as the main antagonist Durva and Ajay Devgn in a special cameo.     Defining Simmba as a masala movie, Sara Ali Khan said, "The way I define a masala Bollywood film is a Rohit sir film.     Speaking about his experience on making Simmba, Director Rohit Shetty said, "Making such movies makes me feel proud especially when the entire police force watches the film. After watching Singham Returns, Rakesh Maria told me, ‘I am proud to be the commissioner of the city after watching your film. The law is more important than we think. If there is no red signal on the road, we all become like animals! The day a police station shuts down, it will be chaos!" 

    Simmba is an orphan who hails from the town of Shivgadh where the famous and respected cop Singham was born and bred. While looking upto Singham has an inspiration, Simmba grew up to become a police office but with principles poles apart from the latter. Being an uncouth cop, he blatantly engages in pursuits of taking bribes from a dangerous gang lord Durva Ranade (Sonu Sood), during which he develops a bhai-hood with him. After being transferred to the Miramar police station, he comes across Shagun (Sara Ali Khan) and love blossoms between them leading to a behaviour change in Simmba. Whilst in the new city, he also develops a special bond with Aakruti (Vaidehi Parashurami), a medical student as she teaches underprivileged children and reminds him of his teacher. But, a certain twist in the story transforms him completely and forces him to choose the righteous path.

The historic war drama garnered 15.6 Mn impressions as per BARC data for Week 33 for 2+ audiences in HSM Urban + Rural markets and is one of the Top 3 rated movies of the year. Zee Cinema has been ranking No.1 in the past five weeks with 489 Mn impressions.

    Over the years, the channel has premiered some of the biggest titles on Independence Day and managed to garner the desired outcome. Grabbing the highest number of eyeballs, Zee Cinema has year on year rated No.1 with their Independence Day premieres of Parmanu: The Story of Pokhran, Dangal, Baaghi and Holiday in the past.
