  • Kellogg’s launches Diwali gift packs for kids

    MUMBAI: Kellogg‘s, the breakfast cereal producer, has launched special Kellogg‘s Diwali gift packs for kids.



    The Kellogg‘s Diwali Gift packs are available in two offerings. The first, priced at Rs 245, contains Kellogg‘s Chocos 375 gm and Chocos Toffee 375 gm along with a set of two penguin rollers for free.


    The other alternative is priced at Rs 135 which contains Kellogg‘s Chocos 125 gm and Chocos Smacks 130 gm with Chocos Toffee 135 gm.


    Speaking on the special offer, Kellogg‘s India MD Anupam Dutta said, “Since health has stepped into the domain of celebrations as well, Kellogg‘s Diwali Gift Packs – great delicious yet nutritious gifts for children- have been launched keeping this trend in mind.   • Adness Ent acquires licensing rights of ‘Crack & Bonky’ Asia & North America

    MUMBAI: Japanese kids-based entertainment company Adness Entertainment has acquired the North American and Asian licensing rights to the new off beat kids and teen brand Crack & Bonky. This was announced by Adness Entertainment, LLC CEO Yasua Matsuo.


    Crack & Bonky hails from Mexico where the franchise is popular across all main licensing categories throughout Mexico and Latin America.



    Crack & Bonky follows the adventures of the duo, who are friends from another dimension called Limbo. Crack learned how to travel through inter-dimensional doors to visit our world, but accidentally hit his head and now he doesn‘t remember how to get back home. Bonky tries hitting Crack on the head in an effort to rid Crack of his amnesia, though he is unsure if this is working. Now they are stuck in our dimension and trying to learn from it. They have many adventures in their humorously na?ve attempts to mimic human behavior and to understand human emotions. Only some people with a great sense of humor and a big heart can see Crack and Bonky and witness their crazy and hilarious adventures.

  • Cartoon Network to premiere ‘Barbie’

    MUMBAI:Cartoon Network will premiere Barbie As The Island Princess on 7 October at 12:00 pm. The movie will air in the movie block called Cartoon Network Theatre. The story revolves around Rosella (Barbie), who as a young girl, shipwrecked on an island and raised by many of the animals that inhabit the location. One day, a prince named Antonia discovers Rosella and her animal family and invites them to visit his kingdom and explore his country. What no one knew was that a trap was being laid in order to rob Prince Antonia off his powers. Now, Rosella and her animal friends must help Prince Antonia to find out who is behind this evil plan and help him to regain his position in the Kingdom.

  • Shemaroo releases ‘Alice’s Adventure in Wonderland’

    MUMBAI:Shemaroo Entertainment released Alice‘s Adventures in Wonderland – an eternal classic which is an adaptation of the Alice story.


    The film captures the adventures of Alice in the Wonderland.



    Directed by William Sterling, Alice‘s Adventures in Wonderland has a star cast namely Fiona Fullerton, Peter Sellers, Dudley Moore, Sir Ralph Richardson, Hywel Bennett, Michael Crawford, Robert Helpmane, Michael Hordern, Michael Jayston, Davy Kaye, Roy Kinnear, Spike Milligan, Dennis Price and Flora Hobson.


    The musical score in the movie has been given by the Academy Award winning team of John Barry and Don Black.

  • Teletoon launches in Canada

    MUMBAI:Teletoon Retro a cartoon channel offering classic cartoon characters like Bugs Bunny, The Flinstones, Scooby Doo and The Jetsons was launched in Canada.








    Teletoon Retro was launched on channel 599 on ExpressVu Digital TV from Bell and channel 284 on Rogers Digital Cable.


    The channel will also have programs on Fat Albert, Tom and Jerry, Rocky and Bullwinkle and Superfriends targeted towards adults in the age group of 25 to 49.


    Founded in 1997, Teletoon Canada inc. is owned by Astral Media (50 per cent) and Corus Entertainment (50per cent).

     

  • Nick to air special shows on Ninjas

    MUMBAI:As a part of celebrations for Gandhi Jayanti, Nick will air special series based on Ninjas.









    This includes an airing of new episodes of Ninja Hattori on 2 October from 12 pm to 5:30 pm. This will be followed by the premiere of Nin X Nin which is a Ninja Hatori live action movie at 6pm.Ninja Hattori is an animated comedy where a little boy called Ken befriends an equally little Ninja called Hattori. Hattori though small in size is not any less powerful than any supreme Ninja. He can move at high speed, sleep suspended on the ceiling and knows martial arts like the back of his superfast hand. Hattori is hardworking, conscientious and quite strict when it comes to disciplining Ken. But he has a heart of gold and is always there to rescue Ken from any difficult situations.


    The Ninja Hattori Nin X Nin live action series is the tale of the little Ninja Kanzo Hattori‘s attempt to attain Ninjahood and take up responsibilities from his aging father Ninja, Jinzo. Kanjo Hattori is faced with the challenge of hiding his Ninja identity as he serves Ken-ichi the elementary school kid.



  • Cartoon Network declares winners of Dragonball Z Powershout contest

    MUMBAI:Cartoon network has announced the winners of Dragonball Z ‘Powershout‘ contest.


    The four winners – Shivam Pal, Khanak Vaid, Alkesh Yelpale and Abhinav Verma – have won an opportunity to feature as a superhero in an animated short.


    Animated shotrs, specially conceptualised and produced featuring these winners, will be aired on Cartoon Network till 13 October, throughout the day from 6:00 am to 11:00 pm.
    Dragonball Z is aprogramming initiative launched on Cartoon Network on 1 May 2007. The series follows the adventures of Goku, who along with the Z Warriors defends the Earth against evil. The action packed adventures reinforce the concept of good versus evil. Dragonball Z also teaches valuable character virtues such as teamwork, loyalty, trustworthiness among other moral values.


    Kids across India participated in Dragonball Z ‘Powershout‘ contest. With signature power-shouts forming an integral part of the Dragonball Z show, the contest spot asked kids to pick up the phone and give their best ‘power shout‘ like their toon hero Goku. The resonance of each ‘Power Shout‘ was recorded on a ‘shout-o-meter‘, a device used to read and record decibel levels.

  • Hungama begins search for Board of Kid Directors

    MUMBAI: Hungama TV kicked off simultaneous auditions in Mumbai, New Delhi and Kolkata for its new Board of Kid Directors.


    In line with the positioning of the channel, which signifies ‘Mad Fun‘, this search will narrow down on funny, whacky and cool kids from different cities.


    The final ten Hungama TV Captains will represent 10 different cities in India.The coolest among them will be appointed as the Hungama TV Captain of the Kids Board of Directors for year 2007-08.


    The channel began auditions for the cities of Mumbai, New Delhi and Kolkata on 29 September and 30 September.


    Hungama TV has made these captains an integral part of all decisions on research, programming, marketing and distribution which has contributed to the channel‘s popularity.



    “Our programming mix is done with the help of our board of kid Directors. They are the one who are driving the channel and this action has delivered good results for us,” said Walt Diseny International (India) director production and programming Aparna Bhosle.


    The auditions will challenge around 1,100 kids in each city between the ages 8-14 years to display their creative, imaginative, expressive skills and strong Hungama TV quotient, creativity, articulation, and teamwork will be some of the judging criterias.


    The auditions on the first day consisted of three rounds each of quiz, extempore and talent evaluation. Short listed kids will show their skills in group discussions and personal interviews on the final day.


    Speaking on the importance of board of kid directors, Bhosle further said, “I believe a kids channel should be driven by kids. As adults, our tastes and likings are different from kids and that is where these captains will help us out.”

  • CBeebies introduces raft of new children’s programming for festive season

    MUMBAI: BBC Worldwide‘s pre-school channel CBeebies has introduced a raft of new children‘s programming this festive season – six in all.


    The channel premieres Pablo the Little Red Fox, an animated short for 2-6 year olds; Toddworld, an award-winning series that teaches children about tolerance, diversity and acceptance when playing together; Charlie and Lola, the imaginative animated series that has captivated pre-school children all over the world; and Numberjacks, animated superhero numbers who solve mathematical problems in the real world with input from real children.
    What happens when the naughtiest, bravest and most curious fox cub in the world moves from his safe home in the country to the strange and dangerous city? In the animated series, Pablo the Little Red Fox, Pablo‘s adventures are full of fun and mayhem, as the little fox cub and his friends, a dog named Baxter, a cat named Finbar, a frog called Fromage, a seagull called Gil and an owl named Madam Owl, make the most of their life in the strange, wonderful and sometimes scary world of humans.


    Pablo the Little Red Fox airs every week day at 8:50 am, 11:50 am, 2:50 pm, 5:50 pm and Saturdays and Sundays at 6:50 am, 9:50 am, 12:50 am and 3:50 pm.


    Toddworld follows the adventures of a boy named Todd and his friends. In a magical world where human beings, animals and even the occasional aliens from outer space live and play together, Toddworld explores the common themes and social challenges of a young child‘s life with colourful humour and quirky charm. Toddworld is produced by Mike Young Productions.


    Toddworld airs every weekday at 6:50 am, 9:50 am, 12:50 am and 3:50 pm.


    Making its debut on CBeebies is award-winning Charlie and Lola, charmingly depicting sibling relationships. Captivating young children everywhere, Charlie and Lola is the television adaptation of the children‘s books by Lauren Child. The story follows Charlie, an eight year old boy and his five year old sister, Lola as they come across life‘s daily problems and using their own unique methods of imagination and fantasy to solve them. Charlie and Lola is produced by Tiger Aspect Production for CBeebies and is a mix of 2D animation, paper cut-out, fabric design, real textures and photomontage.


    Charlie and Lola premiers on CBeebies on 15 October and airs week days at 7:20 am, 10:20 am, 1:20 pm and 4:20 pm, and on weekends at 8:25 am, 11:25 am, 2:25 pm and 5:25 pm.


    Other series making their debut in India on CBeebies include The Shiny Show and Numberjacks. In The Shiny Show, three puppet characters – Tiggs the Tiger, Dogsby the dog and Mukka the Monkey – hold a lively quiz show. The series encourages kids to interact and participate in order to help develop self-esteem and confidence. Each episode, children are given the opportunity to award themselves something shiny when they answer a question correctly, and are praised for joining in.


    The Shiny Show airs every day at 8 am, 11 am, 2 pm and 5 pm.


    The Numberjacks are superhero numbered characters from Zero to Nine, who live inside a sofa and solve mathematical problems. The series is aimed at developing early maths skills, knowledge and understanding amongst children. With the help of a child character, each episode focuses on a mathematical concept designed to encourage children to enjoy learning with numbers.


    Numberjacks premiers 19 November and will air every day at 8 am, 11 am, 2 pm, 5 pm.

  • Cartoon Network to air ‘Son Of Alladin’

    MUMBAI:Cartoon network will screen Son Of Alladin, in the popular movie block called Cartoon network Theater. Scheduled to air on 30 September at 12 pm , it is an adventurous movie about Alladin‘s son Mustafa- Prince of Basra who is hunted by the evil sorcerer Zee Zee Ba.


    The story is based on how the prince grows up totally oblivious of this, meets his ladylove and also rescues his long lost parents.


    Son Of Alladin, the 3D film is produced by Pentamedia.
