TLC to launch Buddy’s Family Vacation

MUMBAI: TLC – India’s favorite lifestyle destination brings to its viewers an all new series – BUDDY’S FAMILY VACATION featuring celebrity chef Buddy Valastro and his family. The eight episode series is a hearty tale of fantastic food and family adventures, where Buddy and his family set off for a vacation across America.

BUDDY’S FAMILY VACATION airs every Monday – Tuesday at 7 PM only on TLC.

On the series, Buddy Valastro decides to take a break from his busy schedule and stacks up the RV for an epic Valastro road trip across America with his family.

TLC captures this adventurous journey as the family ventures across different cities in America and experiences the local food of these cities. They feast upon some of the most sumptuous meals that America has to offer – from relishing seafood on the eastern seaboard to stuffed ‘ugly biscuits’ in Myrtle Beach.

Indian entries invited for OSCAR awards to be presented in February 2017

NEW DELHI: Entires for the American Academy’s Oscar Awards have been invited from Indian filmmakers by the Film Federation of India.

The FFI has as in previous years been authorized to select one film for consideration of Oscar Award in the category “Best Foreign Language Film Award”.

The selection committee set up for this purpose will view the films entered for selection from 17 September as the film has to be submitted to the Academy not later than 1 October 2016.

The Producers may send their entries either directly to FFI or through respective association.

Entries to be sent have to be pre dominantly in non English language, must be commercially released in India between 1 October 2015 and 30 September 2016. The film must have a run of at least for seven consecutive days.

The names of films with release date, censor certificate and brief synopsis must reach the office of the Federation not later than 7 September 2016.

As the films released between 1 October and 30 September are eligible, the films which are slated for release on 23 and 30 September (being Fridays) may also be considered.

One English Subtitled print/DCP and synopsis of the film must reach the venue between 8 and 15 September 2016. Prints received after the stipulated date will not be considered.

Matt Damon gate crashes the latest episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live

MUMBAI: Actor Matt Damon took popular host and friend Jimmy Kimmel by surprise on the latest episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live!. The actor hilariously gate crashed one of the show’s popular segments, filmed in Las Vegas. In the segment, Kimmel introduces Aunt Chippy who is playing blackjack at a casino in LA to try and win money for the show’s studio audience, but to Kimmel’s surprise Aunty Chippy wasn’t alone. Matt Damon was sitting right next to her dressed in a pair of sunglasses and a fine mullet wig!

Spotting Matt at the table, Kimmel quipped, “Hold on — there’s not supposed to be anyone else at the table,” and Aunt Chippy replied, “If I knew he was going to be here, I would’ve shaved my legs, Jimmy.”

When asked about his sudden appearance, the actor said, “I’m just a city boy, born and raised in South Detroit. I took a midnight train going anywhere.” “Thought maybe I’d play some cards with Aunt Chippy,” said Damon, who explained he was in Vegas for the premiere of “Jason Bourne”.“I don’t know — is that a crime?”

Aunt Chippy who has a fantastic track record of winning at the game was actually at the losing end in spite of Matt’s generous offer to keep the game going. Damon was feeling generous, he said, “Hang on. Wait a minute. Jimmy, I was thinking, you know. I don’t know if you’ve ever seen $10,000, but I personally like your studio audience a lot, and I feel like some of them like me. I think we’ve gotta do this again.”

But of course, that did not help.

Looks like, it was bad day for the Jimmy Kimmel Live audience, but, definitely a good day for the two.

The duo have been close friends for years now, and keep pulling pranks on each other much to the amusement of fans. Throughout the episode they kept calling each other out and the actor even said he’d love to do the segment again.
