Jeremy returns to Animal Planet in a captivating new series that brings him back to the water’s edge to investigate reports of the unimaginable and unexplained in JEREMY WADE’S DARK WATERS premiering July 6 at 9 PM on Animal Planet, Animal Planet HD and Discovery Plus app.

    In JEREMY WADE’S DARK WATERS, Wade spotlights the bizarre, the weird and the mysterious as he investigates baffling, unsolved mysteries. He takes Animal Planet’s audiences on journeys beneath the water in remote areas, to islands lost in time and out into the open ocean to investigate reports that include, among others, entire fish species suddenly disappearing; unexplained sightings of mythical beasts; once thriving rivers now empty; and genetic oddities that may have produced the biggest monsters yet.

    ·         Italy’s Lake Monster – According to legend, one of Europe’s most beautiful lakes guards an ancient secret. First reported in the 16th century, the Lake Garda Monster has been described as a huge humped beast – half snake, half dinosaur. Jeremy travels to Northern Italy to investigate but is faced with more than one possible culprit. It turns out these lakes and rivers, despite being in one of Italy’s most populous regions, could be hiding more than one enormous beast worthy of the monster title. 

    ·         Alaska’s Lost River Kings – Jeremy Wade travels to Alaska to investigate reports of the mysterious disappearance of the majestic King Salmon. His search for answers takes him from the state’s most heavily fished rivers to the mighty Yukon River where the King Salmon is the lifeblood of the native communities and out into the ocean, following a trail of evidence that leads him to encounters with some of Alaska’s most formidable predators. Who or what is killing the kings? 

    ·         Return of the Outback Beast – A report of an underwater attack in Australia has caught Jeremy Wade’s attention. The story of a diver tangling with a colossal fish is intriguing, but according to most people, there shouldn’t be any fish of significant size in the area. Chasing a lead, Jeremy travels to eastern Australia to investigate, and discovers that the fish responsible for the attack could be a species back from the brink of extinction.

    MUMBAI: Sony Pictures Networks India (SPN) has decided to discontinue the operations of two of its English general entertainment channels (GECs) with effect from 30 June. The major broadcaster has circulated a letter informing the shutting down of AXN and AXN HD.

    “With reference to the aforementioned subject matter, kindly note that we will be discontinuing the operation of our channels AXN and AXN HD, Genre- General Entertainment Channel (English) w.e.f the midnight of 30 June, 2020,” SPN distribution operation associate vice president Anuj Yadav stated in a letter.

    "In keeping with our growth strategy, we are realigning our channel portfolio. Accordingly, we have decided to discontinue AXN and AXN HD. This decision comes into effect on June 30, 2020," SPN clarified when Indiantelevision.com reached the broadcaster for reaction.

    English channels were majorly hit by the new tariff order (NTO) rolled out in 2019. Several reports have indicated that English pay-TV channels would see a massive drop in their revenues post the NTO. Moreover, the emergence of OTT platforms offering English content has also spelt doom for the English channels. Adding to the cup of woes of the broadcasters, the Covid2019 crisis has badly affected the advertising revenues also.

    MUMBAI: ViacomCBS Consumer Products today announced it has entered into agreements with multiple global licensees to create face masks featuring iconic characters from many popular Nickelodeon properties including SpongeBob SquarePants, which is available now at the SpongeBob Shop, as well as PAW Patrol, Blue’s Clues & You! and JoJo Siwa. The reusable masks, which are not for medical use, will be available through major retail outlets worldwide later in the summer.

    MUMBAI: Discovery in a unique initiative aimed at raising awareness about the rich biodiversity of India and the need for wild-life conservation has pulled in celebrated actors to provide voice-overs for the premiere of documentary ‘Wild Karnataka’ on June 05, the World Environment Day.  Produced by award-winning filmmakers Amoghavarsha JS and Kalyan Varma in collaboration with Karnataka Forest Department, Wild Karnataka focuses on the biodiversity that flourishes in the wild, as Karnataka now has some of the best forests in the world.

    The film, shot using 4K Ultra HD technology, by a team of 20 camera persons using drones and 15 stationed cameras across Karnataka over a period of four years, is a visual spectacle which is to be enjoyed on the big screen. The premiere of Wild Karnataka will get a never-seen-before reception as leading movie stars come forward to narrate it in different languages. Sir David Attenborough will take the lead in English while Indian actors such as Rajkumar Rao (in Hindi), Prakash Raj (in Telugu & Tamil), and Rishab Shetty (in Kannada) will ensure that Indians across the country join hands and celebrate nature’s gift to this beautiful country.
