With Agnisakshi… Ek Samjhauta, we hope to underline how the traditions related to matrimony are embedded in our cultural fabric. This unique tale begins with a divorce rather than love. It will be interesting to watch the journey of characters as they traverse through the grey areas of marriage. We are happy to collaborate with Pichchar Studio for this show and we hope that this complex, yet interesting journey of Jeevika and Satvik will touch a chord with the audience.”

Agnisakshi… Ek Samjhauta is a story that follows the lives of Jeevika Rane and Satvik Bhosle, two polar opposite people who are brought together by fate and coaxed into a matrimonial union by their families. Unlike Jeevika, Satvik is opposed to the marriage, and in an unexpected turn of events, he hands over the divorce papers to his spouse on the first night of their marriage. Jeevika is a daydreamer who longs for a fairy-tale love story and the opportunity to start a family with the person she adores. Satvik, on the other hand, has given up on the idea of love and happiness, and his only ambition in life is to fulfil his father’s wishes.

What sets the show apart is the unpredictable turn of events that unfold after the marriage and divorce.”

Talking about his character Aashay Mishra said, “Satvik’s character is an extremely intriguing one as there are several shades to it. Our show Agnisakshi is all about a marital bond between Satvik and Jeevika and how their relationship blossoms over a period balancing the unevenness between them is something worth watching for our audience. My character Jeevika is a very simple family-oriented girl, full of life who believes in the institution of marriage and desires to have a happy one. The show trails a unique love story of Satvik and Jeevika which begins after a life-altering decision of divorce. I hope the audiences connect and become a part of this splendid journey and shower their love always.”

  • Deconstruct partners with Supari Studios for a brand film

Deconstruct partners with Supari Studios for a brand film

Mumbai: Supari Studios has collaborated with science-based skincare brand Deconstruct on their latest brand film.

With the Deconstruct film, Supari has skillfully brought attention to the brand as well as its mission of ‘Information over impulse’ in skincare regimens.

Deconstruct wanted to break through the clutter and address the deeply ingrained impulse-buying habit in consumers. With this in mind, Supari Studios created a film that identifies with Deconstruct’s 18–25 year old, primarily female audiences, and highlights the unsolicited advice that they may encounter on a regular basis.

The campaign’s protagonist represents anyone who has been confused and overwhelmed by the amount of information and misinformation they must wade through in order to find a skin care product that works for them.

Speaking on the campaign, Supari Studios creative lead Sakshi Bhasin said, “Working on the campaign with Deconstruct, we knew we had the unmissable chance to do something different and clutter-breaking. Leaning into the brand’s philosophy around skincare, we decided to bring in an aspect of humour, and talk about the unsolicited advice and ever-changing trends that surround this industry. With the kind of experience our Director, Devika Chaturvedi, brought to the table, we were able to add that exaggeration to the situations in the film and marry a skincare product with a humorous concept, a combination rarely seen in this space. As someone who has worked on a myriad of campaigns with beauty and skincare brands, this was the perfect opportunity to do something fresh and experimental”

“Since our childhood, we have been provided with unsolicited advice from multiple sources, especially when it comes to skincare,” Malini Adapureddy added, “but in the new age of knowledge economy, consumers are changing and seeking their own information.” Deconstruct aids them in this journey by providing well-researched and simple information on the website, our product labels, and our social media channels and helps them decide what is best. We want them to purchase on the basis of logic and science rather than trying to entice them with vague beauty results. Supari Studios helped us put this concept out in a succinct and relatable manner by using daily instances that most of us must have gone through at least once in life. They pulled the entire project into execution in a crunched timeline, and we are very happy to see our vision come to life beautifully in the video.”

  • Mumbai Film City hikes rental rates, IFTPC to approach Maha govt

Mumbai Film City hikes rental rates, IFTPC to approach Maha govt

Mumbai: Producers of films and TV shows in Mumbai’s Film City received a jolt earlier this month. The Maharashtra Film Stage and Cultural Development Corp (MFSCDC) – which is in charge of the Goregaon-based facility – issued a circular stating that it had revised rentals of studios and outdoor locations on its premises from 1 July.

Some of the large indoor stages including Studio 16 (14,060 sq ft), Studio 7 (10,400 sq ft), Studio 5 (8455 sq ft) and Studio 11 have been seen rate hikes of a massive 53 per cent, 38 per cent, 26 per cent and 29 per cent. Ditto with outdoor locations such as Vishnu Maidan 1 (83,250 sq ft: 87 per cent jump), Josh Maidan 1-2 (1,40,000 sq ft: 57 per cent), Gate No. 1 to Adlab Road/Bus Stop (90,000 sq ft: 102 per cent ), Link Road – 1 (77 per cent) and Link Road – 2 (89 per cent).

This has got the production community’s goose. The Indian Film & Television Producers Council  (IFTPC ) – the producers association which has been at the forefront of workers and government negotiations – is currently gathering data from its producer members to present to the Maharashtra  deputy chief minister or chief minister on  how the hike is going to impact production of TV series in Hindi, Marathi and other languages.

Says IFTPC CEO Suresh Amin: “TV producers are really worried. This kind of rate hike has not happened in the last seven to eight years. TV producers have been faced with reduced or stagnant production budgets over the past two or three years even as they had to invest more to put in place increased Covid protection measures which were quite expensive. The current rate hike will only lead to making producing at Film City unviable as we are unsure whether broadcasters will be supportive and absorb the increased costs.”

“Most TV productions happen in Film City, Goregaon and TV serials shooting takes place  365 days a year,” he adds. “Meanwhile, a film shoot will happen for a maximum of 100 days using different outdoor locations that are largely unaffected by the rate change.”

Some of the  popular TV shows currently being filmed at FilmCity include Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai and India’s Laughter Champion.

Billed as ‘the mother of all entertainment content markets’, the 38th Mipcom Cannes takes place 17-20 October in the Palais des Festivals. Mipjunior returns to its pre-market weekend schedule 15-16 October at the JW Marriott Cannes.

To date, more than 200+ exhibitors from 30 countries have already booked stand space for the October entertainment content market, with the majority of returning exhibitors back to their pre-pandemic booth sizes or larger, bolstered by the re-opening of major outdoor stands on the Croisette beach and surrounding the Palais des Festivals. The robust demand for exhibit space affirms a strong content sales and acquisitions climate supported by an overwhelming sentiment by buyers and sellers to return to in-person international business meetings.

Also new for 2022 is ‘The Seaview Producers Hub’, an inaugural 1000 SQM (10,673 sq. ft.) networking lounge and event space, set against the backdrop of Cannes’ iconic sea view and introduced to reflect the increased focus at the market for exploring early-stage development and co-production partnerships.

RX France Entertainment division director Lucy Smith said, “2022 is undoubtedly the comeback year for Mipcom Cannes. A healthy set of confirmations four months out from the market, with more being added daily, demonstrates the huge appetite for the return of a full strength Mipcom. And, unhampered by last year’s travel restrictions, to meet increased demand we have a supersized edition planned for this October in Cannes. More to come over the coming months.”
