    Viresh is a highly respected and accomplished legal veteran in the media and entertainment industry – with a career spanning over three decades. He has worked with leading blue-chip organisations like Munjal Auto Industries Ltd (Hero Group), Taj Television India Pvt Ltd and Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd. He brings extensive experience in regulatory compliance, litigation, and contributing to consultation papers issued by the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI).

    Viresh is an ex-member of the Legal Committee of the Indian Broadcasting Foundation (IBF) and has demonstrated exceptional ability and experience in various legal forums, including the Telecom Disputes Settlement and Appellate Tribunal (TDSAT), High Courts, and the Supreme Court.

    Player draft for Ultimate Kho Kho Season 2 with 275 contenders on 21 November

    Mumbai: The stakes are soaring high as the six Ultimate Kho Kho (UKK) franchisees gear up for the season 2 player draft in Bhubaneswar on 21 November. The inaugural season ignited a sporting frenzy, thrusting it to claim the title of India’s third-largest non-cricketing league in audience outreach.

    Armed with Rs. 3.90 crore in the purse, the six franchisees will battle it out to secure a formidable lineup from the 275 players available in the pool. The draft promises a fierce battleground, with Maharashtra dominating the forefront with 18 players, that emerged triumphant in the recently concluded National Games held in Goa.

    Promoted by Amit Burman in partnership with the Kho Kho Federation of India, UKK remains steadfast in its mission to reimagine the growth of indigenous sport with greater dynamism and engagement.

    With minimum of 20 and a maximum of 35 players, each franchise will have 35 draft rounds to complete their team combinations for the second edition. While 18 players have been retained by the teams; the remaining players have been put under four categories, A, B, C and D. Category A players are priced at Rs. five lac, Category B will get Rs. three lac each and C and D are categorised at Rs. 1.5 lac and Rs. one lac respectively.  Franchisees will have the option to select players based on their respective draft sequence and purse capacity.

    In all, 293 players are in the pool have been divided into three segments. The 18 players retained by the franchisees fall in the ‘Power Players’ category. Players who were part of Season 1 but have not been retained are known as ‘Pole Players’. While the new set of players recommended either by the franchisees or the Kho Kho Federation of India will be called ‘Dream Players’.

    Defending champions Odisha Juggernauts have retained four players from the last season, while Chennai Quick Guns three, including Player of the Tournament Ramji Kashyap and Young Player of the Tournament Madan. Gujarat Giants showed faith in Defender of the Tournament Abhinandan Patil besides two others. Mumbai Khiladis retained two of the players Gajanan Shengal and Sreejesh S from the previous season. Meanwhile Rajasthan Warriors and Telugu Yoddhas have retained three players each.

    The thrilling action from Season 2 will be broadcast live on Sony Pictures Networks India (SPNI)’s sports channels as well as livestream on Sony LIV.

During the engaging conversation with Amish Devgan, managing editor – News18 UPUK, MPCG & Rajasthan; Nadda expressed confidence in the BJP securing a three-fourth majority in the upcoming Rajasthan assembly elections. He also outlined the party’s strategies to form governments in Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh.

    Nadda highlighted BJP’s strong prospects in Telangana as well, expressing determination to form a robust government in all the states. On the topic of fielding sitting MPs in assembly elections, Nadda emphasized that it is a strategic decision.

    The conversation delved into the timing of recent ED raids, where Nadda asserted the need for immediate scrutiny in instances where large financial transactions are involved, as seen in the Mahadev App scandal.

    Addressing the issue of caste-based census, Nadda clarified that it is driven by political motives rather than genuine concern for public welfare. He criticized the Congress party, stating that their sudden interest in the backward classes is opportunistic, accusing them of neglecting these communities for several years.

    Responding to the allegations of promoting dynasty politics within the BJP, Nadda listed examples from various political parties, emphasizing that many prominent political families are active across the political spectrum.

    Regarding the Shree Ram Mandir construction, Nadda dismissed the notion that it is being done with the intention to influence electoral outcomes, refuting the opposition’s viewpoint.

    JP Nadda concluded by reasserting that the BJP is committed to governance based on development and public welfare, criticizing the Congress party for resorting to corruption whenever they are in power.

    As with last year’s award, this new initiative responds to the need for producers, distributors, broadcasters and platforms, faced with the dizzying number of series available, to create innovative and unique marketing campaigns so that the series are noticed and have every chance of gaining attention.  The best ideas submitted, and the winner will be selected by a Series Mania committee and presented as part of the program during the 2024 Series Mania Forum (19-21 March 2024).

    “With a tremendous number of submissions entered last year, and with prices awarded to ‘Doctor Who: Flux’ from BBC Studios, and ‘Lupin’ from Netflix (Jury Special Mention), we knew we were on the right track with this award,” commented Herszberg. “Creativity in series’ marketing is more important than ever before given the sheer number of programs available today and we think it is a natural evolution to also open the stage to BtoB initiatives for 2024.”

    “Best Marketing Initiative Award” will be given to the most effective marketing initiative to promote a series, be it original, groundbreaking, or impactful for the audience.  The committee will be looking for the best marketing promotion, which may include communication campaigns, experiences, digital/social initiatives, or a striking visual or promo/trailer developed for the launch of a new series or a new season.

    The eligibility requirements for this award include: Creative / social / influencer agencies, producers / studios, international distributors and/or broadcasters / streamers who have set up BtoB or BtoC promotional initiatives for the launch of a series or a new season can apply for this award. For this new edition, campaigns launched in 2022, 2023 and 2024 are eligible. The application must be for a marketing initiative around a fiction series.
