    NBA, WNBA, and Dream11 announce a multiyear extension to elevate fantasy basketball gaming in India

    Mumbai: The National Basketball Association (NBA), Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA) and Dream11, the fantasy sports platform, today announced a multiyear extension of their existing collaboration that will see Dream11 continue as the official fantasy gaming partner of the NBA and WNBA in the country.  The renewal builds on Dream11 and the NBA’s relationship that began in the 2017-18 season with the launch of the league’s first official fantasy game in India.

    Through the extension, fans in India can compete daily in a variety of public and private NBA and WNBA-themed fantasy games.  Simulating the role of a general manager, fans can construct a virtual team of NBA or WNBA players and accumulate points based on the players’ real-life on-court performances.    

    “With India being one of the fastest growing markets in the world for fantasy gaming, bolstering our presence in this space has been a key focus for us over the last few years,” said NBA India Country head Rajah Chaudhry.  “We have seen a significant increase in fan engagement since the launch of our official fantasy game on Dream11, and as we embark on this continued journey together, we look forward to pushing the boundaries of innovation in fantasy gaming and providing fans with even more exciting ways to connect with the NBA and WNBA.”

The launch event was held in Mumbai on Thursday, the summit brought together policymakers, industry stalwarts, startup visionaries, and academic luminaries to deliberate on critical aspects pivotal to India’s economic advancement. Central to the discussions was the government’s ambitious 25-year roadmap aimed at positioning India as the world’s third-largest economy, with a targeted GDP of $10 trillion.

Subsequently, a candid conversation with Indian Tennis Player & Grand Slam Champion/World No.1 Rohan Bopanna captivated the audience.

    The evening continued with an engaging fireside chat, exploring the themes of ‘Opportunity Meets Optimism: Making The Most of India’s Moment.’ Persistent Systems CEO & founder Anand Deshpande, shared valuable insights, stating, “It is very clear that India will get to a $10 trillion economy mark and I am very excited about that. In addition to engineering and other investments that we are looking at, we need to focus on some level of research and the higher end of the food chain in some sense. While we do this, we need to focus on entrepreneurship, especially at the grassroots level and their communication of education and entrepreneurship would be the two things that I would focus on. I believe that we need to move towards a world where there is continuous learning and the facilities of practical knowledge at educational institutions. India has the potential to be the leader, we have the largest number of people who know how to use AI and other software.”  

    The event transitioned seamlessly into another fireside chat featuring Tata Power CEO & MD Praveer Sinha, discussing ‘Investing Today in Tomorrow’s Growth.’  While giving insights into India’s energy transformation, Sinha said, “The power sector has undergone significant transformation over the past two decades. We’ve witnessed a doubling of capacity every decade: from 100 gigawatts in 2000 to 200 gigawatts in 2010, and currently exceeding 430 gigawatts. Ensuring affordable electricity access for all consumer categories remains crucial.”

    The concluding panel discussion titled ‘Shaping A New Growth Mindset Through Innovation & Ideas,’ highlighted luminaries such as Decimal CEO Shailesh Dhuri; SolarSquare Energy director Neeraj Jain, Intermed Laboratories director Riddhi Jhaveri, Lizmontagens India MD Sanjeev Prabhu.     Nazara brings a powerful saga of tradition, resilience, and empowerment in ‘Dahej Dasi’

    Mumbai: Nazara, a general entertainment channel from the house of IN10 Media Network, known for its commitment to diverse and impactful storytelling, is proud to present its latest show, Dahej Dasi. Set against the enchanting backdrop of the fictitious village Madhopur in Rajasthan, the show promises to immerse audiences in a heart-wrenching yet inspiring narrative of a young woman’s struggle against the oppressive tradition of being a dahej dasi.

    Dahje Dasi delves into a tradition wherein a maid accompanies a Thakur family’s daughter as part of the dowry. This maid, known as dahej dasi, is denied the right to marry or form relationships, dedicating her entire life to serving the Thakur Family.

    The narrative follows the journey of Chunari, portrayed by the talented Jahnavi Soni, a 19-year-old innocent girl with dreams of marriage and a happy family. However, she becomes entangled in the chains of deceit, finding herself on the path to becoming a dahej dasi. The formidable maha sarpanch of 50 villages, Vindhya Devi Gauravat, played by Sayantani Ghosh, is determined to ensure Chunari embraces this tradition. As Chunari fights against the oppressive practice, the show unfolds into a compelling drama of tradition versus rebellion, love versus oppression.

    Jahnavi Soni, sharing her thoughts on portraying Chunari, said, “The reason why I opted for this character was because of its simplicity. Although it seems to be a simple character, it has many layers of emotions that need to be delivered right, and that’s the most challenging part of being Chunari.”

    Sayantani Ghosh, who plays the negative lead Vindhya Devi, expressed, “When Vindhya Devi was offered to me, I agreed without any hesitation. Though the character is negative, it has an unsaid layering of emotion that makes it unique. The most challenging part was the Rajasthani dialect, and since I have not done any Rajasthan-based show before, I was inclined to do this even more.”

    Rajat Verma, essaying the role of Vindhya’s son Jay Gauravat, shared, “The story, set in Rajasthan, explores the dahej dasi tradition, where a servant’s life is tied to their owner. My character, a modern kuwar, challenges this cultural norm. One key reason for my enthusiasm is the involvement of the makers Ravindra Gautam and Raghuvir Shekhawat. It’s also a pleasure to work alongside the talented Sayantani Ghosh, who plays the negative lead.”

    The channel believes that what sets Dahej Dasi apart is its unique blend of entertainment and a compelling social message. The show carries a positive theme, emphasizing the importance of resilience and courage in the face of adversity.

    Nazara invites viewers to embark on this emotional and empowering journey with Dahej Dasi, airing every Monday to Friday at 9:00 pm starting 12 Feb 2024 on the channel.

    Mumbai: According to the recent Broadcast Audience Research Council (BARC) data, News18 Bangla has showcased remarkable week-on-week growth in its market share, surpassing ABP Ananda in both cumulative reach and the market share during the 8 am-8 pm time slot.  This consistent upward trajectory has firmly established News18 Bangla as the foremost leader in the West Bengal market.

    Showing commanding growth for the past seven weeks, News18 Bangla garnered a higher market share, surpassing Republic Bangla, TV9, and Zee 24 Ghanta by 50.6 per cent, 71.8 per cent, and 188 per cent, respectively. (Source: BARC, Market Share, Week 5’24, All India, TG:15+) All Day

    Mumbai: This Valentine’s Day, EPIC ON is all set to air its newest culinary show – ‘Family Table’. The show is coupled with love, romance, and cuisine and it is hosted by none other than celebrity Chef Ranveer Brar.

    Grounded in the philosophy of food connecting people, the show invites families across India to share their kitchens, offering entertainment and gastronomic delight. Beyond recipes, ‘Family Table’ explores the stories behind dishes, delving into traditions and moments that make family meals extraordinary.

    On the unique elements that ‘Family Table’ offers compared to other cooking shows

    The Family Table is a very special show. We have a lot of cuisine and cookery shows, which are there out there on digital and linear, but the show is very special because it’s got the blend of star divas, then we have the most favourite, celebrated chef – Ranveer Brar in our show where not only the skills are shown, but also there is a family fight, which happens to prepare the best of the food. So there’s a family angle to it. This show is not only going to create a powerhouse of entertainment but also give inspiration to a lot of upcoming chefs and creators to see and get inspired, on how such shows can be created. So this is the special USP of the show.

We feel that ‘Family Table’ at this juncture brings a freshness, a different kind of twist to the overall web shows that are being made. And this show is absolutely unscripted. The show also talks about lots of cuisines that are created in the homes but stay at home and not being showcased anywhere else. Family Table is an attempt to bring all of those home cuisines out there and present them to millions of audiences out there through digital and TV.
