    Tilt Brand Solutions elevates Adarsh Atal to CCO

    Mumbai: Tilt Brand Solutions has elevated Adarsh Atal to the role of chief creative officer. Prior to this, he was executive creative director. The development is effective with immediate effect. 

    A part of Quotient Ventures, Tilt Brand Solutions is a Mumbai-based Brand and Communications Consultancy. 

    Quotient Ventures group CEO T Gangadhar said, “Atal has been a key contributor to our creative reputation and I am excited to see him embark on his new and elevated role. I am confident he will take our creative product to even greater heights – I wish him the very best on this quest”.  

    Atal has been with Tilt Brand Solutions since 2019 and has played a pivotal role on some of the Tilt’s most popular work, notably on Dream11, Groww, Kenko, Licious, Livspace, Myntra, PhonePe, Shopsy and many others. 

    He will continue to report to Quotient Ventures group chief creative officer Shriram Iyer.

    National conclave deliberates how government policies of last nine years have led to increased citizen trust

    Mumbai: Representatives from various sections of society came together at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi, at a session titled “Jan Jan Ka Vishwas” to deliberate on how government policies and programmes have contributed to inclusive development during the last nine years. The session was held at the conference “National Conclave: 9 Saal – Seva, Sushasan, Gareeb Kalyan”, organised by Prasar Bharati. The panelists included boxer Nikhat Zareen, actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui, UNICEF Representative to India and nurse Cynthia McCaffrey and Padma Shri awardee Shanti Teresa Lakra; environmentalist Anil Prakash Joshi and Divya Jain, co-founder Seekho. The session was moderated by journalist Richa Anirudh.

    National Education Policy helping holistic education

    UNICEF representative in India McCaffrey said that the government of India conducted a National Achievements Survey, which looked at the system to understand what children are learning and what Indian students really know. “Based on that, the government created policies in order to reach individual students and make the education system stronger. What this leads to is that India has made an investment in foundational learning, ensuring also that we keep children at schools in a safe environment. Swachh Bharat Mission, Ayushman Bharat have all come together to be important parts of a child’s life and bring in convergence in learning. Schemes come together to make sure you have sanitation and nutrition. The government has laid focus on foundational learning with an innovative approach, with skilling through multiple pathways, enabling children to grow up healthy and helping them acquire 21st century skills.” She added that the emphasis given in the National Education Policy on foundational learning, vocational education and entrepreneurial learning has empowered children, enabling them to get a holistic education.

    Mumbai: Elara Securities senior VP research analyst Karan Taurani said that the ongoing Zee-Sony merger can deliver a 55-60 per cent upside on valuation over the near to medium term.

    He also added that an immediate 10-15 per cent rise could come on the basis of National Company Law Tribunal approval, with a further uplift expected due to synergies and business strategy execution.

    Further he said that the second leg of the re-rating in terms of valuation multiple could come in post the merger, depending on what kind of strategy they announce.

    Scott boasts an impressive career spanning over 15 years in the advertising industry. With experience at renowned agencies such as Ogilvy, DDB, and Hakuhodo, as well as smaller and fiercely independent agencies like StrawberryFrog, Metal, and Famous, Hayden has established himself as a seasoned copywriter and creative leader.

    Throughout his journey, Scott has accomplished remarkable feats, demonstrating his ability to revitalize well-established brands and champion important causes. He successfully reinvented Raymond, a 100-year-old Indian brand, and rewrote the taglines of iconic brands such as Nestle to support girl-child education. Hayden even invented a paintbrush specifically designed for disabled foot artists under DOMS Stationery. One of his notable endeavours involved using apples to defy a state-wide communication blackout with Radio Zindagi. More recently, he directed a music video for John Legend in collaboration with Johnnie Walker.

    Scott’s exceptional work has been recognised with over 75 awards, including prestigious accolades from D&AD, One Show, Kyoorius, Cannes, Abbys, and Effies. His talent and dedication earned him a spot on the list of the top 40 people under the age of 40 in Marketing and Advertising in 2020, and he was also honoured with the Copywriter of the Year award.

    Currently, Scott leads the creative team at Virtue India and the Asia-Pacific region, focusing on leveraging cultural insights to build brands in an era dominated by short attention spans. Outside of his professional endeavours, Hayden is passionate about mentoring aspiring talents. He frequently offers guidance at Miami Ad School and the National Institute of Design (NID). During his leisure time, Hayden enjoys sketching urban architecture and producing music as part of his bands Citizen Koi and Stella by Starlight.

  • Harsh Jain to be IAMAI chairman from 2023-2025

    Harsh Jain to be IAMAI chairman from 2023-2025

    Mumbai: The Internet and Mobile Association of India (IAMAI, www.iamai.in) announced today that based on the governing council election, Dream Sports co-founder, and CEO Harsh Jain has been elected the chairman of the association.  He replaces Google India vice president and country manager, Sanjay Gupta. MakeMyTrip co-founder & group CEO Rajesh Magow and Times Internet vice chairman Satyan Ganjwani have been elected the vice chairman and the Treasurer of the association replacing Shivnath Thukral and Harshil Mathur respectively. They would together form the association’s executive council along with the ex-officio member IAMAI president Dr Subho Ray. 

    The new 24-member governing council and the new executive council of the IAMAI will take charge of the present councils at the upcoming annual general meeting. The IAMAI governing council election is held every two years.  Eighty-three members of the IAMAI contested the elections this year following the end of the two-year tenure of the previous council.

    Mumbai: ZEE Entertainment Enterprises is set to appeal against the NCLT order, according to media reports.

    The network is expected to contest that it did not have the opportunity to present its arguments. ZEEL may challenge NCLT’s jurisdiction regarding the non-compete fees issue.

    The exchanges have also been asked to review whether the payment method for the non-compete fee between two Mauritius entities is in accordance with the relevant SEBI policies.

    SEBI has passed an interim ruling against one of the promoters of the Essel Group, which owns Zee.

    NCLT leads NSE and BSE to review initial approvals for Zee-Sony merger

    Mumbai: National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) has asked the National Stock Exchange (NSE) and Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) to reconsider their initial approvals for the merger and issue no-objection certificates before the next hearing. The bench headed by HV Subba Rao and Madhu Sinha will hear the case on 16 June.

    According to the news report, on 11 May, the NCLT directed the exchanges to reassess the approvals, which previously got a thumbs up from the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI).

    The new instructions come close on the heels of SEBI’s interim ruling against one of the promoters of the Essel Group, which owns Zee.

    The proposal for the merger has already been green-lighted by the BSE, NSE, Zee shareholders and the Competition Commission of India.

    Trai extends the date for submission on ‘Issues Related to Low Power Small Range FM Radio Broadcasting’

    Mumbai: TRAI has extended the last date for submission of comments by stakeholders on a consultation paper issued by it on “Issues Related to Low Power Small Range FM Radio Broadcasting” . The paper was issued on 17 April 2023.  The deadline has been extended following requests from stakeholders.

    Accordingly, the Consultation Paper was prepared to seek the comments and views of the stakeholders on the issues related to low-power short-range sound broadcasting.  

    The last date for submitting comments was earlier fixed as 15 May 2023 and counter comments as 29 May 2023.

    Keeping in view the request received from the stakeholder for an extension of time for submission of comments on the consultation paper, it was decided to extend the last date for submission of comments and counter-comments up to 22 May 2023 and 5 June 2023 respectively.

    Mumbai: The Union government has extended the tenure of Vikram Sahay as joint secretary of the information and broadcasting ministry, according to media reports. The extension is for a period of two years. The current tenure will expire on May 23 until further orders.

    The tenure extension has been notified by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet.
