    GroupM partners with Social Media Week

    MUMBAI: GroupM partnered with the global social media conclave, Social Media Week in its debut outing to India. As the host of the Advertising and Marketing hub and an integral part of the advisory board, GroupM brought together marketers, publishers, influencers and thinkers discussing content, data, insight, mobile, search, platforms and innovations. Over a course of three days, the agenda sought to deep dive into all aspects of social media that affect brands today.

    Day 1:

    Day one of the hub with a spotlight on content focused on two pertinent questions:

    Brands in The Youth & Social equation

    On the high impact panel moderated by Anant Rangaswami Editor, Storyboard on CNBC TV18 and senior editor, Firstpost.com was Rishi Dogra (General Manager – Marketing Digital & Activations at PepsiCo), Alex Oberberg (Head of markets Engagement, Global Social media and Digital marketing); Nickhil Jakatdar (CEO and Founder, Vuclip); Arjun S Ravi (Co-Founder, NH7) & Social Media Influencer Abhishek Ashthna aka Gabbar Singh. From what the best in business are doing to engage a super connected demographic to what the Indian scenario lacks, this session covered it all. The panel extensively debated on where brand conversations and imagery fit in the world of a young consumer.

    Socialization of Branded content

    The next highlight event was an insightful conversation between Prem Panicker (Managing Editor, Yahoo India) and Anant Ranswami as they discussed the evolution of branded content through time, platforms and technology. The session focused on the changed game between content creators, carriers and consumers. Panicker spoke extensively about the changing balance of power between content producers, publishers, distributors and consumers.

    Along with the session, the day saw enormous participation in the interactive workshops by GroupM Social and Search & KRDS. These were aimed at hands on and interactive learning for the topics in discussion.

    Day 2:

    The hub focus on day two were game changers, with discussions on data, cinema and mobile
    Real time data and actionable insights

    The day started with a group of industry leaders that are making numbers work harder. Listening, measurement and technology all served up in hot offering,  the panel moderated by Sandeep Pandey, Mindshare comprised of Lakshmanan Narayan, CEO & Co-Founder, Unmetric Inc; Venke Sharma, Vice President – Digital Marketing, Star TV; Kartik Sharma, Managing Partner Maxus; Ranjit Nair, CEO, Explic8. The session focused on how the best in the business are converting data into actionable marketing insights to drive value like no other. Amongst many intriguing conclusions, the way forward was making beta a strategy, real time optimization and democratic marketing structures
    Cinema in the age of internet

    Another aspect of the changing balance of power was brought to debate by the second panel of the day as Pragya Tiwari Editor-in-Chief, The Big Indian Picture quizzed Rohan Sippy, Film Director and Producer & Guneet Monga, CEO, Anurag Kashyap Films Pvt. Ltd on how social media has revolutionized what they do. This was a live wire discussion about all aspects of film production and marketing from creative, tech, production, marketing, censorship to criticism and box-office collections and how social helps.

    Day 3:
    Day three was full power Advertising hub day and also the closing day of the Social Media Week Mumbai.

    The day opened with an invigorating address by Rohit Varma, Co-Founder, R SQUARE Consulting (CO) and Toby Daniels, Founder & CEO, Crowdcentric; followed by the highlight session of the day, the keynote address by CVL Srinivas, CEO, South Asia GroupM.

    Speaking on the Changing Face of Agencies in the Dynamic Social Media World, Srinivas commented on the paradigms shifts of airing to sharing; digital first thought map and eventually about an adaptive and actionable marketing structure.

    Amongst the many panels on the day, some of the noteworthy sessions were:

    The Art & Science of Social Media Analytics

    A descriptive 101 in how social insights are logical and analytical at the same time. This session by Karthik Nagarajan, National Director – Social Media & Insights, GroupM had it all – solutions, perspectives and best practices. The presentation explained the stages of insight from mere data  to an actionable logic backed inference.

    The Publisher Brand and the rise of Micro-Content
    This session brought to the fore the opportunity shorter forms of content brings. A pacey and heady conversation between four of the most dynamic thinkers of the media and social industry – Anant Rangaswami, Editor, Storyboard on CNBC TV18 and senior editor, Firstpost.com; Ashok Krish, Head – Web 2.0 Innovation labs, Tata Consultancy Services; Lakshmanan Narayan, CEO & Co-Founder, Unmetric; Karthik Nagarajan, National Director – Social Media & Insights, GroupM. The panel concurred how the arrival of micro content and real time responses not just meant a relook at content strategies but also a revision of the brands priorities.

    Optimus- Leader of the Autobots

    Optimus is the leader of the Autobots, a faction of heroic robots from the planet Cybertron who wage their battles to destroy the evil forces of the Decepticons, for control of their homeworld, and by extension, peace in the universe. The immensely kind and compassionate leader puts all his talent to use to improve the world around him, and has dedicated himself to the protection of all life, particularly the inhabitants of Earth; he will battle his foes with unyielding resolve to uphold this belief. In power and intelligence, Optimus Prime has no equal, known as one of the greatest heroes on both Cybertron and Earth.

     

    Shockwave- The one-eyed Decepticon scientist

    Shockwave is a Decepticon scientist. He takes damaged Decepticons and turns them into super-soldiers. He transforms into a sleek Cybertronian Jet to travel around to multiple areas to blast the Autobots. Although he is loyal to Megatron and serves as his second in command, Shockwave’s only true master is logic.

     

    Ultra Magnus – The chief lieutenant of Optimus Prime

    Ultra Magnus is the hammer-wielding commander of the Wreckers, and one of Optimus Prime’s closest lieutenants. He’s more than capable of whipping even the worst disarray into military discipline, though he can get rather hung-up on protocol.

    KTM hosted successful version of Orange Day in Delhi

    KTM, the European Racing Legend, conducted the third successful version of “Orange day” for customers in Delhi. The “Orange day” is conceptualized to make the customer experience the racing genes of the KTM 200 Duke. It gives the KTM owner an experience of performance of 200 Duke and also an opportunity to interact with the fellow KTM 200 Duke owners on a race track.

     

    With more than 230 world championship titles in the various categories, including the consecutive 12 prestigious Dakar rally titles, racing is integral part of brand KTM. The racing philosophy is demonstrated in the way the bikes are designed. By using light but high strength alloy components, KTM bikes have one of the best power to weight ratio in its class.

     

    The “Orange Day” was organized at Parking Area, Near ATC Tower, Cargo Stand Indira Gandhi International Airport, Terminal 2 Road, New Delhi. The Orange Day started at 06:00PM with the riders registering themselves for the racing. A classroom session was organized by a racing expert on the basics of racing and how to extract the most out of the KTM 200 Duke. This was followed up by a demonstration on the track and then the final race. Podium finishers were awarded and the event ended with a breath taking “stunt show” on KTM 200 Duke.

     

    All the KTM owners and Non-KTM motorcycle enthusiasts in the city were invited to participate in the Orange Day. Besides all the action on the track there was service-camps, stalls for KTM Powerwear and Powerparts, refreshments, music and a general ambience of fun and camaraderie.

     

    Another highlight of the show was the showcase of Superbike 1190RC8-R, 350 SX-f and recently Launched 390 Duke. Also the keys were handed over to the first few customers of KTM 390 Duke.

He will represent India at the Disco Mix Club (DMC) World DJ Championships set to be helped in October this year.  Roane was chosen as the winner by an esteemed jury comprising Luke Kenny, DJ A-Myth and Sumit Shenoy at the India Finale held in August.

     

    One of the most popular resident DJs at Hard Rock Cafe and Shiro, India, DJ Roane has numerous loyal fans walk in on ‘Rock Your Fridays’ night at Hard Rock Cafe  for his collection of the choicest rock and an even larger following at Shiro where he knows exactly which songs get the crowds moving. Roane battled it out with 13 top DJs from all across the country to be crowned national winner.

     

    Roane began his career at the age of thirteen in the city of Mumbai, India. In his early days he experimented with hip-hop and R ‘n’B and the turntable style.     Navneet Kaur Dhillon wins Multimedia award

    Pond’s Femina Miss India World 2013 Navneet Kaur Dhillon helped India bag the Multimedia Award at the Miss World 2013 pageant in Bali for the second time in a row. The award was first introduced by the Miss World Organization in 2012 when India’s Vanya Mishra clinched it.

     

    The Multimedia Award is adjudged on how contestants presented their web section of the Miss World website and a Facebook page wherein they interact with fans through status updates, photos and videos. The maximum updates, interactions, likes and shares by fans earn fast track points on the Miss World scoreboard and ultimately help the contestant win the Multimedia Award.

     

    Navneet’s active interaction with her fans, her regular updates about the experiences at the Miss World 2013 contest through self-clicked photos and videos on the assigned Facebook page helped her win this prestigious award. Her contributions in particular on the Multimedia Award day were appreciated where she helped raise awareness about the rare Sumatran Tiger as she posted some really clever and prompt updates using pictures and videos through the day.

     

    As of today, Navneet’s page has over 1, 20,000 active fans and the posts reach over 1,000,000 people a week. All of this was achieved with intelligent status updates, interactive photo posts and some stunning cover pictures.

     

    Navneet was closely competing with Miss Thailand and Miss Nepal for the Multimedia Award, however in the end the quality of her work stood out to take her across the finish line.

     

    The Miss World pageant also has a Beauty with a Purpose award which is given to the contestant who makes special dedication to a charitable cause to help those who are less fortunate and has bagged 9th position.  In the endeavor, Navneet joined hands with Hindustan Unilever Ltd, Pureit Brand to spread awareness about the importance of safe drinking water in India. Under its ‘Unilever Pureit Protecting lives’ programme, she and the brand’s key NGO partner Integrated Village Development Program (IVDP), spent a few days in Tamil Nadu’s Krishnagiri district to talk about the cause

    India TV has instituted a bravery award in the memory of Jyoti Singh, the brave girl who lost her life after fighting the gruesome gang rape in a bus in Delhi but awakened the society on crime against women. Jyoti Singh Bravery Award will be presented at a gala ceremony in New Delhi tomorrow(28th September). The award is part of India TV’s effort to honour the bravehearts of the nation with the first edition of the Officer’s Choice Salaam India Awards.

     

    These honours are a tribute to those who stepped forward altruistically, with determination, foresight and perseverance to face the challenge head on, safeguarding someone else’s interest over their own personal safety/well being.
