    NDTV Good Times presents the third season of “Jai Hind with Rocky and Mayur”

    MUMBAI: To celebrate the spirit of nationalism, NDTV Good Times, India’s youngest lifestyle channel, presents Jai Hind Season 3 with the invincible duo Rocky and Mayur. As part of the special programming series, Jai Hind pays tribute to the Indian Armed forces, marking the 64th Republic Day celebrations in the country.

    The series is a compilation of never-seen-before facets of the Indian Army, Navy and Air Force. Rocky and Mayur will be seen visiting the Indian Armed Forces – High Altitude Warfare School, where Rocky successfully completes a 100 feet rappel with Mayur’s assistance; Air Warrior Drill Team where they live  the dangers of twirling rifles and bayonets and the National Defence Academy to experience the life of  the officers in training . The duo also visits the Indian Naval Services where they sail on the high seas and also spend time with Jawans at Gladiators, JAKLI and 17 Guards.

    Watch Rocky & Mayur live the hardships faced by the Indian Armed forces, as well as the intensive training, grooming, measured diets, and even the rush of adrenaline involved in setting up an ambush.

     
    Presented as an eight-part episodic series, the season premieres January 18th and ends on the 25th, 2014, followed by a special day long telecast of all the episodes on January 26th.

    MUMBAI: The 9th edition of the Renault Star Guild Awards was brought to a close this evening with the biggest stars of the Indian Film and Television industry at Mumbai’s NSCI Ground, Worli. The eventful night saw Salman Khan take centre stage for the second year running as the host for the evening, sharing screen space and a brilliant camaraderie with his colleagues.

     

    The Film & Television Producers Guild of India announced the winners in Film & Television for the year gone by where the Milkha Singh biopic, Bhaag Milkha Bhaag were the favourites of the night, walking away with an impressive 8 awards.  Farhan Akthar swept the Best Actor in a leading role category and saw the film take home Best Screenplay and Best Story for Prasoon Joshi, Best Cinematography, Best Sound Design, Best Actress in a supporting role for Divya Dutta, Best Director for Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra and the enviable Best Film award for Viacom 18 Motions Pictures and Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra.

     

    Speaking of his Best Actor in a leading role, Farhan Akthar said, “The biggest thank-you goes to Milkha Singh and his family for all the support and passion that he put in to me. When I met him for the first time, he told me about the sacrifices he went through in his life and Prasoon has captured it very well in the title track.”

     

    2013’s heartwarming The Lunchbox won 3 awards including Best Actor in a Supporting Role for Nawazuddin Siddiqui, the Star Verdict Awards for Irfaan Khan and The Yash Chopra Award for the Most Promising Debut Director to Ritesh Batra.

     

    2013, being a year for big ticket films that saw an unprecedented number of movie-goers with box office sales spilling over the Rs. 500 cr mark The Film & Television Producers Guild of India introduced the Guild Hall of Fame announcing 2013’s nine major film titles from the year gone by to be included into this exclusive club. The announcement made by Ramesh Sippy and host, Salman Khan saw Race 2, Aashiqui 2, Krrish 3, Chennai Express, Dhoom 3, Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, Grand Masti, Goliyon Ka Rasleela: Ramleela and Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani being inducted into the Guild Hall of Fame.

     

    Commemorate the 100th birth anniversary of late filmmaker Khwaja Ahmed Abbas, the Guild also introduced the K. A. Abbas Honour for Cinema with Social Sensitivity. Mr. Amitabh Bachchan gave away the award naming the film, Shahid as its first ever recipient.

     

    Varun Sharma of Fukrey fame and Arshad Warsi (Jolly LLB) shared the award for Best Performance in a comic role while Sushant Singh Rajput walked away with the award for Most Promising Debut – Male for the unconventional film, Kai Po Che! Vaani Kapoor took home the award for Most Promising Debut – Female for the film, Shuddh Desi Romance.

     

    The evening was coupled with enthralling performances by the superstars themselves including Kareena Kapoor Khan, Prabhu Deva who was joined by young starlet, Sonakshi Sinha, Shahid Kapoor, Shraddha Kapoor and Jacqueline Fernandez.

     

    The Renault Star Guild Awards have been instituted by the Film and Television Producers Guild of India with an objective to establish a standard for honouring excellence and achievements in the Indian film industry.

     

    The 9th Renault Star Guild Awards is presented by Renault and Star TV. The Brand Parners for the Awards are Gionee Smart Phone and the Videocon Group. WeChat is the official Messaging Partner for the event.

    MUMBAI: Sofia and her family take to the high seas for a royal vacation in the first-ever “Sofia the First” primetime special, “Sofia the First: The Floating Palace,” premiering Sunday, on Disney Channel and Disney Junior on Saturday, 18 January. The undersea adventure, in which Sofia is magically transformed into a mermaid, features a special appearance by Princess Ariel from “The Little Mermaid,” and also introduces a new character named Oona, a young mermaid.

     

    “Sofia the First: The Floating Palace” takes Sofia and her family on an extraordinary journey to Merriway Cove, where Sofia meets a young mermaid named Oona.  After helping Oona untangle her fin from a net, Sofia’s magical amulet transforms her into a mermaid too, allowing her to explore the underwater world with her new friend.  During their adventure, Sofia learns that mermaids mistrust humans and are angry that her family’s floating palace is in their cove.  When Oona is captured by a horrible sea monster, Sofia – with a little help from Princess Ariel – must find a way to save her and create harmony between their two worlds

     

    The simulcast of the premiere of the made-for-television movie “Sofia the First: Once Upon a Princess” on Disney Channel and Disney Junior reached out to more than 4 million audiences (CS 4+) of which 2.3 million were kids (CS 4-14) across All India. Disney Channel ranked #1 across all TV during its time slot garnering a 26% share of viewing within the kids genre among all kids (CS 4-14 ABC) and 36% share of viewing among younger girls (CS ABC F 4-9).     MUMBAI: Mindshare globally recognized 15 January as Mindshare Day and celebrated it by announcing its refreshed global positioning: original thinking driven by speed, provocation and teamwork. In Asia Pacific, the network held a region-wide video conference call where 17 countries and 24 offices – from Karachi to Sydney – dialed in to share thoughts and ideas around the new vision.

     

    Five years ago, Mindshare moved away from the conventional media agency structure and redesigned itself around four integrated and interactive divisions – Client Leadership (account management), The Exchange (media buying), Invention (strategy and ideation) and Business Planning (data and analytics). Mindshare drove yet another innovative partnership between Manchester United and Unilever, where Unilever became the club’s first official Personal Care and Laundry partner in South East Asia. In a mobile study conducted towards the second half of the year, Mindshare toured the region with Yahoo! to share findings of a smart device study that could change the way clients think about mobile altogether.

    Cohn & Wolfe welcomes Doug Buemi as Asia Pacific, Regional Director

    MUMBAI: Cohn & Wolfe, a leading global communications agency, today announced the appointment of Doug Buemi as Vice Chairman, Regional Director, Asia Pacific.  Buemi is a Cohn & Wolfe alumnus who established the agency’s presence in China in 2006 with the opening of its Shanghai office.  He also held several other leadership positions at Cohn & Wolfe including Vice Chairman, Los Angeles market leader and Western Region CEO.

     

    In this newly created global leadership position, Buemi will have management oversight of the Asia-Pacific region, working closely with regional market leaders to help grow the agency’s business, build capabilities and develop talent.  Doug will also advise on global strategy and partner with Donna Imperato, Cohn & Wolfe CEO, to expand the agency’s presence in the region.

     

    Buemi joins Cohn & Wolfe from Ogilvy Public Relations, where he was Regional Executive Advisor, Asia Pacific.  At Ogilvy he continued his long-time leadership role in Ford’s Asia Pacific region and provided counsel and training for a range of top companies such as GlaxoSmithKline, Janssen-Cilag, Tesco Lotus and DuPont.  His responsibilities also included new business development and worldwide employee training, coaching and mentoring initiatives.  Buemi served as interim Chairman for the agency’s India and Thailand offices, and handled special initiatives in Indonesia, Vietnam and Myanmar.  Prior to Ogilvy, Buemi worked at Burson Marsteller, where he was executive vice president, a member of the worldwide board and Western Region Operations Manager.  He also owned and operated his own marketing communications firm for many years.

    MUMBAI: As a run-up to the upcoming General Elections which are possibly the most crucial Elections in recent times, CNN-IBN & IBN7 are gearing up for their most exhaustive and comprehensive programming related to politics, politicians, elections and the expectations of the people from their leaders.

    CNN-IBN & IBN7 began this massive effort with its first round of The Election Tracker in July 2013, which was a one-of-its-kind study that tested the mood of the nation on key governance issues and attempted to track the fortunes of key political leaders; eventually endeavoring to answer the BIGGEST QUESTION – Who will rule India for the next five years? Taking this elaborate study further in the recently concluded 5 State Assembly Elections, both the channels tried to answer all the questions related to the crucial state elections through the Pre-Poll and Post-Poll surveys.

    The upcoming round of The Election Tracker on CNN-IBN and Agar Abhi Chunav Hon Toh on IBN7 scheduled from 20th January to 24th January, 2014 will see participation of approximately 17,000 respondents to be surveyed across 20 states with focus on social and political issues of national importance. Based on a rigorous methodology, this study will project voting patterns and likely outcome. The study will be conducted by the ‘Centre for the Study of Developing Societies’ (CSDS).
