    MUMBAI: Shram Daan Diwas 2013, an initiative by Fevicol Champions’ Club (FCC), bagged the prestigious Loyalty Awards for Best CSR initiative category. Shram Daan Diwas, an annual event of Fevicol Champions Club, was organized on 20th December 2013. 22000 contractors and wood workers across 145 cities in India came together to donate a day of their labour towards repair work at almost 325 needy institutes. This year the focus was on institutions caring for underprivileged children. Over 40,000 kids were impacted through this initiative.

We thank the institution of Loyalty Awards for recognizing the hard work done by the FCC members.     In Mumbai, over 600 FCC members participated in the Shram Dan Diwas by conducting repair work at over 21 needy organizations including schools for specially abled, municipal schools, and government schools. This unique community initiative witnessed the woodworkers and contractors conduct their activities across various beneficiary schools and institutions.

     

    FCC is an exclusive club for wood working contractors launched in 2002. In 2011, on the eve of its anniversary celebration, FCC members vouched to donate a day of their labour towards the betterment of the underprivileged section of the society at large the materials and other supplies thus required are given by Fevicol, absolutely free. Shram Daan Divas is a social welfare outreach initiative from FCC and is conducted with the sole purpose to augment and uplift the socio – economic section of the society by mending or repairing the broken furniture. Shram Daan Divas has grown leaps and bounds by making a mark and entering into Limca Book of Records, Asian Book of Records among others.

     

     The Loyalty awards were given away as a part of the Loyalty Summit and are the premier awards for the loyalty programs in the Industry.

    MUMBAI: ?Sony Six, India’s premier sports and entertainment channel will exclusively broadcastthe player auction that will take place before this year’s edition of the Pepsi Indian Premier League. Come February 12thand 13th, the 2014 Pepsi IPL Player Auction will be the talking point of the country as the bidding process rolls out for theseventh edition of the tournament.  The event that will see eight team owners battle it out to build their dream team, will be broadcast Live and Exclusive on Six and Six HD.

     

    With every team given the option of retaining a maximum of 5 players, this year’s auction is certain to bring up surprises, with the 8 franchise teams drafting new approaches to retain the best mix of cricketing talent. This year’s auction will feature 219 capped players (169 Indians and 50 overseas players) and will also feature 292 uncapped players (255 Indians and 37 Overseas). Indian uncapped players will be figuring in the auction for the very first time. The auction will take place at ITC Gardenia, Bengaluru, on the 12th of February, with an option to carry onto the 13th of February.

    MUMBAI: GroupM, the leading media investment planning conglomerate in India, today released their annual estimated advertising expenditure report called the This Year, Next Year (TYNY) 2014. Along with the Advertising Expenditure (AdEx) numbers, GroupM India also released the mTrends, the list of the biggest media and communication trends in the country.

     

    As per GroupM’s in-depth research of the Indian media industry, the projected AdEx growth estimate is 11.6%. Digital media shows the maximum growth with 35%. This is followed by 12% in TV, a drop from 13.6% in 2013. Cinema remains constant at 12% for this year as well. The print medium shows a significant increase by 8.5% as against the 2013 estimate of 4.6%, owing to growth in vernacular print publications across the country.

     

    CVL Srinivas, CEO, GroupM South Asia said, “We are cautiously optimistic about the media industry in 2014. Sectors like FMCG, Auto and Retail will continue a stable increase in ad spends. We will see an increase in rural spending by FMCG and Telecom.” He added, “The first half of the year will continue to be uncertaingiven the general economic &political environment, and ambiguity surrounding the measurement system. However advertising by political parties is expected to give a boost to the AdEx by upto +2.5%. We envisagea stronger second half with an upsurge in ad spends.”

     

    The TYNY report is the most comprehensive understanding of the estimated media spends by advertisers in the current year.
