The new season of the socially relevant show will be back on TV from 2nd March, 2014.     America gears up for the 15th IIFA Weekend and Awards 2014 in Tampa Bay

    MUMBAI: As we draw closer to the 15th International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) Weekend & Awards in Tampa Bay, Florida, the Academy held a press conference on the lawns of the U.S. Consulate in Mumbai, today. Friends of IIFA, members from the film fraternity were present today along with U.S. Ambassador Peter Haas, and the Tampa Bay delegation to show their support for the upcoming celebrations in the United States of America. The 15th Videocon D2H IIFA Weekend and the Tata Motors IIFA Awards will be held from the 23rd – 26th of April.

     

    Actors Anil Kapoor, Madhuri Dixit Nene, Saif Ali Khan, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Bipasha Basu and music director Pritam were on hand to announce the details of the Videocon D2H IIFA Weekend. Leading the delegation from Tampa were Mayor of Tampa Bay – Bob Buckhorn, Hillsborough County Commissioner – Al Higginbotham and Santiago Corrada, President and Chief Executive Officer of Visit Tampa Bay and the IIFA hosts from Tampa Bay, Dr. Kiran Patel and Dr. (Mrs.) Pallavi Patel.

    The 15th edition of the Videocon D2H IIFA Weekend in April 2014 is set to include multiple star-studded events including the IIFA Rocks (a fashion and music spectacular), the IIFA Magic of the Movies & Technical Awards, and the crown jewel Tata Motors IIFA Awards.

     

    The Tata Motors IIFA Awards will be hosted by Shahid Kapoor and Farhan Akhtar. The first set of star performers at the Videocon D2H IIFA Weekend include Hrithik Roshan, Priyanka Chopra, Madhuri Dixit Nene, Saif Ali Khan, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Ranveer Singh, Sonakshi Sinha, Bipasha Basu, Pritam and Vir Das among others. The performances would be choreographed by the internationally-renowned Shiamak Davar. More stars would be announced in the next few weeks.

     

    The sale of tickets for the Tata Motors IIFA Awards has been brisk with more than 15000 tickets being already sold without any announcement of performing stars. The response from the audience is phenomenal and the Indian contingent is looking forward to the first-ever IIFA Celebrations in America.

     

    Business events include the FICCI-IIFA Global Business Forum which focuses on business opportunities across the two geographies, the Global Leadership Honours and a Media and Entertainment Strategy Summit led by Ernst & Young and FICCI’s Entertainment division.

     

    The FICCI IIFA Global Business Forum will take place over two days (24th & 25th April) at the Tampa Convention Center. Hosted by the University of South Florida College of Business, the business forum will be addressed by several leading visionaries and business leaders including Indian IT visionary, founder and Executive Chairman of Infosys, Mr. Narayan Murthy and FICCI President Siddharth Birla.     MUMBAI: CNN International today announced Ravi Agrawal as the New Delhi Bureau Chief. Agrawal will commence in this role with effect from April 1, 2014.Based in the country’s capital,Agrawal will manage and oversee CNN’s multi-platform newsgathering operations from India.

     
    Agrawal is an award-winning CNN producer and has worked with the network across its London and US offices for eight years. He assumes this new role from being the senior producer of CNN’s flagship Sunday program on world affairs ‘Fareed Zakaria GPS’.

    “India has the world’s interest and CNN has had a long standing presence and robust operations in the countryfor well over two decades now. Ravi’s appointment is very timely as we prepare to coverthe world’s largest democracy going to the polls in the coming months,” said Ellana Lee, Vice President and Managing Editor, CNN International Asia Pacific. “The wealth of talent and experience at CNN has enabled us to recruit the strongest candidate from inside the company for this vital role.With a combination of Ravi’s deep knowledge, understanding of India and his in-depth experience with the network’s global shows and operations, we will continue our comprehensive coverage from this country,” she added.
     

    Before GPS, Agrawal was the senior producer for ‘Connect the World’, CNN International’s daily primetime show.Previously, he produced key news programs from the London bureau including Business International, CNN Today and World Business Today. Having joined the network in 2006, Agrawal rose to become a producer in a very short span gaining extensive “live” and in-field production experience from around the world including, Davos, Delhi, London, Mumbai, New York and Washington.

    While Agrawal was its senior producer, ‘Fareed Zakaria GPS’ won a Peabody Award and garnered three Emmy nominations. In 2013, Agrawal was named a “Young Global Shaper” by the World Economic Forum. He received his Bachelor of Arts in International Relations from Harvard College where he was elected to the editorial board of The Harvard Crimson in his freshman year.

    MUMBAI: CMJ Breweries in association with Konig Ludwig International is introducing the authentic German beer “Kaltenberg” in India. As a part of the licensing agreement CMJ breweries Private Ltd. will manufacture and distribute the highly famous premium brand Pan India. The first beer to be launched through this association will be Kaltenberg Royal Lager and it will be followed by Kaltenberg Royal Strong in the next few months. The beer will be positioned higher than the other premium beer much lower than imported ones. The product will be available across 1,000 outlets over the next few months in Maharashtra, Goa, Daman, West Bengal, Bihar, Jharkhand, Delhi, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh.

    Kaltenberg will be brewed at its state of art CMJ brewery in Meghalaya aptly known as Scotland of the east. Only those breweries are allowed to brew Kaltenberg beers which guarantee compliance of all Royal Bavarian brewing standards and specification and CMJ brewery is one of them. The fully automated green field brewery has been set up at Byrnihat with a cost of about Rs 125 crores. CMJ brewery has also set up  100 KLPD state of art grain based Extra Neutral Alcohol (ENA) Plant at Byrnihat with and investment  of Rs250 Crores. The ingredients for this beer come all the way from Germany and are produced as per German purity laws which are strictest all over the world.

    Commenting on the same Mr.Rohit Jain, Chairman, CMJ Breweries said that, “We are extremely delighted to introduce one of the World’s oldest beer brand to the beer connoisseurs in India. Brewed under the German Purity Law, this will be India’s first super premium beer available at half the price of an imported beer in India.  Through launch of this brand, we aim to capture about one-two per cent of the premium beer market in India in next 3-5 years.”

    Konig Ludwig International is controlled and managed by HRH Prinz Luitpold von Bayern. He is a member of the Royal family of Bavaria. All beers from Kaltenberg Castle are brewed under the strict quality control of HRH Prinz Luitpold von Bayern and his technical team as per the Bavarian Purity Law which has been issued by one of his ancestors in the year 1516.

    Their expertise in the brewing business can be traced back to 1260 making Kaltenberg, possibly, the oldest beer brand in the world. Over almost 800 centuries they have set such important milestones as the Purity Law of 1516, the wheat beer monopoly, the foundation of the Brewing University at Freising, the beer garden edict and the world famous Oktoberfest.

    The brand name Kaltenberg originates from its birth place in the Kaltenberg Castle, where beer has been brewed since 1871, and is still a Royal residence. It is the most sold international brand in the Royal Bavarian portfolio. This legacy is an integral element of Kaltenberg beers. The brewing know-how, quality and brand management have been developed and fine-tuned over the centuries.
