    Anurag Basu as third Judge on India’s Best Cinestars Ki Khoj

    MUMBAI: The Award winning Director will join Sonali Bendre and Victor on the Judge’s Panel of the show!

     

    Joining the panel as the third judge on Zee TV’s India’s Best Cinestars Ki Khoj is the renowned director Anurag Basu. Having made the Oscar nominated masterpiece Barfi, this will be his second outing as a judge on a reality show; his first being Zee TV’s India’s Best Draamebaaz.

     

    Having sensitively addressed mature themes through his films, Basu is known for getting the best out of his actors. While he is quite a task-master when it comes to work, his sense of humor is something that will make the contestants feel at ease while auditioning in front of him. Having been in the industry for decades, Anurag comes with immense understanding of gauging an actor’s abilities and selecting the right kind of talent.

     

    Talking about his association with the show, Anurag said, “As a director, I could connect with the idea of Cinestars Ki Khoj which is to search for the most promising acting talent in the country and provide them with a platform on national television to showcase their acting ability and creativity. I think the pool of talent we have in our country needs that, given how difficult it is for a talented outsider to make an inroad into the industry and land a suitable role. When I was approached to come on the show as a judge, I took it up as I felt it would be a great opportunity to come in touch with fresh talent, new ideas and the contestants could benefit from my insights and experience. This is an extension of my work with Zee TV that started with India’s Best Dramebaaz.”

     

    A little unhappy about joining the show late, he added, “I was away in South Africa for the shoot of my forthcoming film. Would have liked to be a part of the journey right from the outset ideally.”

     

    Apart from judging a reality show the second time, Anurag was glad to have been paired with Sonali Bendre- with who he has worked in the past. Ensuring a lot of dhamaal and great potential, Anurag will soon be seen having a blast alongside two judges and the anchor of the show – Hussain Kwajerwala!

    MUMBAI: Super rapper, Honey Singh once again showed his profound love for sports by becoming owner of a team in World Kabaddi League. In sync with his name, he has christened it Yo Yo Tigers and will host the Toronto leg.

     

    The record breaking artist and heartthrob of millions of fans across the globe is himself a trained mixed martial art expert and follows sport very closely. Addressing a press meet at Delhi, Singh also announced that he will soon be unveiling the title track for his team. “I have already planned to roll out my next title in support of my team. It will not only be a peppy number but will be a source of encouragement to my fellows,” Honey Singh said.

     

    World Kabaddi League (WKL) is the first international kabaddi league coming out of India and is scheduled to roll out from August in a high profile event in London. Played in Circle style, WKL is loosely based on the Formula 1 touring sport format and will be the first Indian sports league with an international footprint and a 5 month long calendar.     MUMBAI: For the first time ever, television’s most celebrated and premiere awards night will be simulcast live in India across the Star bouquet of channels. Touted as TV’s biggest night, the glamorous gala held annually witnesses the best names from the television fraternity walking the red carpet pre-show. From first time nominees to returning favorites each year, the best on prime television are rewarded. Viewers wait in anticipation, rooting for their favorite shows and actors to win the iconic Emmy award.  

     

    Nominations for the 66th Emmy® Awards were announced last night by the Television Academy in California. For the first time, they implemented online voting for the nominations phase of the Emmy Awards.  The Academy’s membership embraced this change with a meaningful increase in voter participation, nominating programs and performers from broadcast, cable, premium cable and digital outlets.  These nominations underscore the membership’s dedication to recognizing quality content regardless of platform.

     

    While Game of Thrones was the most nominated program with with 19 nominations, celebrated miniseries Fargo received 18 nominations and American Horror Story: Coven that aired on Star World Premiere HD received 17 nominations.  Other programs receiving ten or more nominations include Breaking Bad (Currently airing on FX), The Normal Heart, Saturday Night Live, House of Cards, Downton Abbey (Due to air on FX), Orange Is The New Black, True Detective and Modern Family (aired on Star World), among others.

     

    Additionally, the many Drama and Comedy series receiving multiple performer nominations include The Big Bang Theory (Star World), Homeland (Star World), House of Cards, Mad Men (Star World Premiere HD), The Newsroom, Portlandia, Saturday Night Live, Shameless and Veep, among others.

     

    This year’s performer nominations include a renowned group of actors many of whom are past Oscar nominees and winners.  This includes Chiwetel Ejiofor in Dancing On The Edge, Matthew McConaughey in True Detective and Julia Roberts in The Normal Heart, all of whom were nominated for an Oscar this past year.

    • The game show commenced on 9th June in Maa TV with telecast from Monday to Thursday from 9.00 PM to 10.30 PM.

    • MEK reaches 1.22 Crore people in Urban A.P and Telangana, including Hyderabad ( out of the total TV viewing universe of 1.74 Crores as per TAM monitoring)  and 1.61 Crores across India

    • As per the latest TAM data for week 27, which is released on 10th July, MEK has garnered an average of 7.79 TVRS in the CS ABC 4+ audiences over 4 days in 6 hours, which is the highest rating for a weekly show in Telugu TV industry

    ArunProjapati (Salman Khan) has been trying to be a successful TV anchor for long, but luck hasn’t favoured him at all.Arun is head over heels in love with Alia (Priyanka Chopra), working in the same channeland is a well-known star. He has never been able to express his love for her. When a third person Rocky (Sohail Khan) is given credit for all the work and is appointed as an anchor for the channel, he starts believing that Rocky will win Alia.Arun is then expelled from the channel for a mistake which he never committed.  As a consequence he blames and curses God (Amitabh Bachchan) for this lack of success and bad luck.

    The story takes a very interesting turn and God appears in person in front of Arun. An argument arises between them and as a result, God then decides to give Arun the power over all things for seven days, where Arun has to prove his mettleand be a better operator of the universe.

    MUMBAI: Zee Classic, the Hindi movie channel that is known for showcasing movies from the golden era is all set to premiere India’s first Technicolour movie – ‘Aan’ that comprises of a stellar star cast including Dilip Kumar, Premnath and Nimmi.

    When a poor Rajput villager Jai Tilak (Dilip Kumar) successfully wins a royal contest to tame princess Rajshree’s (Nadira) wild horse, he is instantly challenged to a game of fencing by her brother Shamsher Singh (PremNath) and wins. While Jai starts falling in love with the princess, her brother conspires to kill the king after learning that he isn’t in line for the throne and later assumes the throne.

    An atrocious leader, his fate intertwines with Jai’s when he plans to imprison Mangala (Nimmi), Jai’s childhood friend and molests her. Mangala ends her life and Jai kills Shamsher in order to avenge Mangala’s death. This in turn provokes Princess Rajshree to launch an attack on Jai’s village. The battle ensues and Jai kidnaps the princess setting out to gain her love.But what Jai doesn’t know is that Shamsher is still alive!

    Will he finally take control of the kingdom? Will the princess fall in love with the earnest pauper?
