    Care World TV’s new series ‘F – Factor’ to eradicate factor of fear in food

    MUMBAI: Care World TV will host a new series, ‘F – Factor’ to help people deal with the nuisance of food adulteration. The fifty-two episode series will have well-known microbiologists on the show, who will demonstrate simple Do-It-Yourself (DIY) tricks and tips of testing food products at home. The series will be aired from July 1st and is aimed at informing viewers about different types of adulteration in various food items. The emphasis of the show will be to educate viewers about adulteration and its harmful health effects and will also inform them about different types of packaging done for different food items.

     

    “Food adulteration has become so common that almost everyone is suffering from its consequences. Being a health and wellness channel it is our prime concern to alert and educate our viewers about the existing malpractices and identify ways to counter it,” says Ajit Gupta, Managing Director, Care World TV. “We have set out on a mission to fight this malpractice that is rampant in the market and which is affecting people’s health. Each show will demonstrate different everyday food items like fruits, sugar, ghee, ice-cream, sweets, milk among others and the experts will guide viewers with simple DIY experiments on how to trace possible adultery. By doing this at home one can at least become self-reliant and determine if what is being consumed is indeed safe,” he adds.

     

    The series comes at a time when there apprehension in the minds of consumers over the toxic composition of chemicals in packaged food products. The series will also address certain aspects of labelled food products and educate buyers on identifying the elements that may be harmful for consumption.

     

    “The tests on our shows will be simple and effective in identifying adulteration in food. For example sugar, an ingredient that is used in every household can be easily tested for adulteration with water. All one needs to do is add a little water to sugar and check if it leaves a chalky residue. If yes, it could mean that the sugar has been mixed with Calcium Carbonate which is extremely risky to the health, if consumed. Ideally sugar when diluted with water should be clear once dissolved. Most tests on the show will be as simple as this and we are sure that these simple experiments will help viewers tremendously,” says Gupta.

     

    “Our objective is to help people safeguard their interests and take precautionary measures against health hazards. In today’s competitive market, some unethical companies may resort to misleading the consumer by misrepresenting facts in their communications or in extreme cases cut corners to capture market share.     MUMBAI: To ‘Embrace a Healthier Lifestyle’, and promote the age old practice of Yoga, which is being endorsed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Siti Cable Network, an Essel Group Company celebrated the International Day of Yoga on 21 June by organising Yoga sessions concurrently at 70+ cities across India. The yoga sessions at various locations saw participation from more than 50,000 people, 9000 Business Partners and 1500 SITI Employees.

     

    Each event that happened at various locations was unique in its own way. To name a few; In Varanasi 500 people performed yoga amid the river Ganga on 25 House boats & 15 steamers, in Hisar, Siti in collaboration with Patanjali organized a yoga session for more than 3,000 people, likewise in Hyderabad & Bangalore the sessions took place under the guidance of renowned Yoga Gurus. In Delhi, Siti’s yoga initiative found huge support from the RSS with more than 800 of its Shakha members taking part in the Siti Yoga drive.

    MUMBAI: The NBA Finals 2015 – which concluded on 16 June and saw the Golden State Warriors defeat the Cleveland Cavaliers four games to two – broke records across television, digital, and retail, becoming the most-watched and highest-rated Finals in ABC history with nearly 20 million viewers per game and an average 11.6 U.S. household rating.

     

     Highlights from The Finals include:

     

    ·         ABC:  The six-game series set new Finals records for ABC with 19,939,000 viewers and an 11.6 U.S. rating, up 30 percent and 26 percent, respectively, from 17,667,000 viewers and a 10.5 U.S. rating for The Finals 2014.  Additional details on highest-rated NBA Finals on ABC.

     

    ·         NBA Digital:  NBA.com and NBA Mobile garnered a combined 336 million video views, eclipsing the record set during last year’s Finals.

     

    ·         Facebook:  On Facebook, fans created 173 million interactions related to The Finals, including posts, comments, and likes.  Additionally, NBA, Warriors, and Cavs content amassed a record 98 million video views – up 180 percent from The Finals 2014, viaSports on Facebook.

     

    ·         Twitter: On game days throughout The Finals, the NBA accounted for 71 percent of all television-related conversation. #NBAFinals tweets were viewed 7.6 billion times on Twitter and across the web, via @TwitterData.  During the #NBAFinals, 7 million tweets contained the hashflags #CLE, #GSW, #ALLinCLE, #DubNation.

     

    ·         Google:  On the day of Game 6, “Golden State Warriors” was the most-searched item on Google, with “Cavs vs Warriors” ranking No. 3.

     

    ·         Instagram:  The league’s Instagram account added a record 628,000 new followers throughout The Finals, pushing the total following to 7.8 million.

     

    ·         Snapchat:  With 417,000 views, the NBA posted its most-viewed snap of all time during Game 6.  Overall, NBA Snapchat content received a record 93.5 million views during The Finals.

     

    ·         Merchandise:  June 17 was the highest-selling day in NBAStore.com history, up triple digits from the previous one-day record.

    o Record-setting sales for NBA Finals 2015 merchandise across all Fanatics platforms, including NBAStore.com and Fanatics.com, up triple digits from the previous record achieved at The Finals 2010 between the Los Angeles Lakers and the Boston Celtics.

    Chennaiyin FC retains Bruno Pelissari

    MUMBAI: Chennaiyin FC have retained Brazilian attacking midfielder Bruno Pelissari for the second season of the Hero Indian Super League.

     

    The 22-year-old will be joining Chennaiyin FC on loan from Brazilian club Atletico Paranaense to feature in the 2015 Hero ISL. Bruno was on loan to CFC from Atletico Paranaense in the inaugural edition of the ISL also and played his part in Chennaiyin’s run to the semis with four goals in six starts.

     

    Bruno’s goals came against FC Pune City, Mumbai City, Kerala Blasters and Delhi Dynamos. All three goals were quality strikes from the Brazilian but perhaps the most memorable one was the ‘Olympic Goal’ against Delhi Dynamos as he scored directly from a corner, beating world’s tallest goalkeeper Kristof Van Hout.

     

    Following ISL 2014, Bruno returned to Atletico Paranaense and made five appearances for them in the Paranaense state championship.

     

    Chennaiyin FC manager Marco Materazzi said, “We are very happy to have retained Bruno for the second edition of the Hero Indian Super League. Bruno is a player with great potential and he showed that many times last year, producing moments of magic in tight games. His presence in the squad gives us strength in depth in attacking midfield and I have full faith in him to have an even better season this time.”

This year we have also introduced a new category of award called ‘Godrej Expert Rich Cr?me Oh My God Performance’ which will celebrate the outstanding performance of an artist and his commitment to the industry. Godrej Expert Rich Creme and Sahyadri Cine awards will continue to motivate talent which will deliver the best and take the Marathi film industry to the next level.”

     

    The Jury of these awards is totally independent which has representation from Film, Critique and Senior Film Journalists. The independent Jury comprised of Film Producer & Director – Samruddhi Porey & Vidhyadhar Pathare, Producer-Director-Senior Journalist Ramesh Salgaonkar, Senior Journalist – Sudhir Nandgaonkar & Dilip Thakur, Veteran Marathi Actress -Maya Jadhav, Retd. Doordarshan Producer – Raviraj Gandhe and Music Composer, Singer – Milind Joshi. This year’s nominations have been chosen from a long list of popular and critically lauded movies. The competition promises to be stiff but that only means a thrilling awards evening that will live up to every expectation.
