    MUMBAI: Movies Now will premier Fury — the thrilling war action-drama starring Brad Pitt and Shia LaBeouf on 8 November at 1 and 9 pm.

     

    Fury is a movie based on the life of the US tank crews towards the culmination of the World War II in Nazi Germany. The film stars Brad Pitt, Shia LaBeouf, Logran Lerman, Michael Pena and John Bernthal. It has been written and directed by David Ayer, who was moved to narrate the story after he read about the war service of his family veterans and the stories he read about the American armored divisions in World War II.

     

    Brad Pitt plays a U.S Army staff sergeant fondly named, Wardaddy as he leads a five-man all veteran crew in an M4 tank called, ‘Fury’, with which he and his tough crew battle to vanquish the Germans.  The all-star cast and remarkably filmed war action sequences make Fury a gripping, iconic not-to-be-missed war classic.

     

    While the channel is bringing to its viewers a great movie, it is also giving them a chance to win prizes during the telecast of the movie. The channel will be running an on-air contest in which viewers will have to give a missed call to the number that will flash on screen while the movie is being played at 1 pm and 9 pm on 8th November. The prizes include the latest iPhone 6S – one during each airing of the film.

     

    On digital, the channel’s Fury campaign will hold unique social media contests on 8 November for all its followers. On Twitter, fans can put their Fury knowledge to the test and win prizes every hour.     Sporty Solutionz’s plea admitted in Delhi High Court

    MUMBAI: Indian Badminton League brand owners and commercial partners, Sporty Solutionz Pvt Limited’s plea for protection of the IBL intellectual property rights has been admitted in the Delhi High Court. The case will next come up for hearing on December 10, 2015.

     

    SSPL, who had invested heavily to deliver a highly successful season 1 and create the brand IBL, had pleaded in the Hon’ble court for protection of their Intellectual Property rights.

     

    “We have pleaded to the Hon’ble Court that the IBL was created by our clients Sporty Solutionz under an agreement, under which the Intellectual Property rights for the league perpetually vested with our clients. The Hon’ble Court after hearing the arguments had directed us to serve notices to all the concerned parties, including the Maharashtra Badminton Association, who were also the signatories to the tri-partite ‘Indian Badminton League and Commercial Rights Agreement’,” says the Sporty Solutionz’s counsel, Sanjeev Kumar.

     

    The Badminton Association of India had recently announced to conduct the second edition of the league at its own. Thereafter, Sporty Solutionz’ had pleaded in the Hon’ble High Court of Delhi to protect their rights. The court while admitting the plea has asked the petitioner to serve notices to all concerned parties in this case.

     

    The first edition of the IBL was conducted between August 14 and 31, 2013, in six Indian cities – Hyderabad, Delhi, Mumbai, Lucknow, Bengaluru and Pune. The inaugural edition of the league was won by PVP Hyderabad. Thereafter, the league was not allowed to happen by the BAI in 2014 and 2015.

    Having entered the fruit based jelly confectionery segment with Jellicious Strawberry,Candyman has introduced its second flavor, Jellicious Orange.

     

    Taking the ‘wiggle-wobble’ property forward, FCB Ulka has given a fresh twist to the brand idea, much to the merriment of kids all around.

     

    The film revolves around a boy visiting a natural history museum along with his parents. When his dad’s camera is taken away by the overtly stern curator, the boy decides to take things into his own hands. He tosses a few Jellicious Orange candies into the mouths of the artifacts, causing the T-Rex, a mummy and finally the curator himself, to do the wiggle-wobble dance.

    FICCI FLO Film Festival to host Global Symposium on Gender in Media

    MUMBAI: The first FLO Film Festival organized by FICCI Ladies Organisation(FLO), Mumbai Chapter, the women’s wing of FICCI, today announces a new partnership with the Geena Davis Institute on Gender in Media that will see the Festival host the Institute’s first Global Symposium on Gender in Media in Mumbai, India in February 2016.

    Speaking about the partnership, Academy Award-winning actor and founder and Chairman Geena Davis said, “Media images have a huge impact on our perceptions, and on our social and cultural beliefs and behaviours. Our new global study, explores how global films may be reinforcing negative gender stereotypes with movie audiences of all ages.” The Institute is the only research-based organisation working within the media and entertainment industry to engage, educate, and influence the need to dramatically improve gender balance, reduce stereotyping and create diverse female characters in entertainment.

    FLO National President Archana Garodia Gupta said, “FLO has been working to empower women, and erase gender stereotypes for three decades. Films are a very powerful medium, and have a major role to play in our perception of the world. They can help redress the balance or reinforce negative gender images. We are very excited to bring this issue to the fore in the Film Capital of the world, and hope to improve the image of women in Indian films.”

    At the 3rd Global Symposium on Gender in Media, the Institute will present new global research which explores the influence of film audiences in the UK, India, Nigeria, France and Brazil funded by the Oak Foundation.

    The Festival will open with the Symposium, (the Symposium is sponsored by Independent Television Service Inc- ITVS), which will convene eminent entertainment content creators, business leaders, actors, directors, media personalities, policy makers, to engage in dialogue around the institute’s global research along with two panel discussions from leading entertainment industry personalities, content creators, along with gender in media related subject matter experts.

    CEO Geena Davis Institute Madeline Di Nonno said, “We are honoured to be partnering with FLO. They have been working for the education of the girl child, mentoring women entrepreneurs and many initiatives to empower women since the past 32 years.
